Abstract

Indonesia has the largest number of smokers in the world, ranking third after India and China. Pregnant women have an important role as they are caregivers and can influence their husbands to quit smoking. Indonesia has the third largest number of smokers in the world, with 33.5% of the Indonesian population smoking, posing health risks. Family support is needed in smoking cessation efforts, especially for fathers or husbands. The purpose of this study was to conduct a reliability test analysis and establish validity must be done to ensure the instrument provides accurate and consistent results. This research design is a cross-sectional survey study or data collection at one time to test the validity and reliability of the research questionnaire with the title Participation of Pregnant Mothers in the Efforts of Fathers to Stop Smoking to Prevent Stunting through the Health Belief Model Approach. The validity-reliability study was conducted on pregnant women at the Palaran Community Health Center in Samarinda City, Indonesia, which was conducted in September 2024 in a group of pregnant women who had smoking husbands as many as 30 respondents. The findings of this study revealed that the validity values obtained varied between a minumum of 0.001 and a maximum of 0.97. In addition, the reliability of the seven variables was assessed using Cronbach's alpa coefficient, which yielded values above 0.7. Therefore, this tool can be a valuable tool to measure the participation behavior of pregnant women in efforts to help their husbands stop smoking for stunting prevention.

Abstract

Stunting is still become a major public health that causes impaired physical and cognitive growth in children, thus having a long-term impact on productivity, quality of human resources, and the country's economic growth. Data from the 2023 Indonesian Toddler Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI) shows stunting prevalence in East Kalimantan Province, with 22.8% in 2021 and 23.9% in 2022. The study aims to obtain a prediction model of stunting in children 0-23 months in East Kalimantan Province. The study used SSGI 2022 as a data source, an observational study with a cross-sectional approach, and was analyzed using binary logistic regression. The study results showed that the binary model regression model had a classification accuracy of 83.2% and could explain 59.4% of the variation in the incidence of stunting in children aged 0-23 months. The findings indicate that Low Birth Weight (LBW) and maternal height significantly affect stunting in children 0-23 months. Therefore, special attention is needed for adolescents and pregnant women through nutritional education programs to grow to optimal height and for pregnant women to give birth to healthy babies.

Abstract

Hypertension is a serious health issue worldwide that can lead to stroke, myocardial infarction, heart failure, dementia, kidney failure, and vision problems, and it poses a significant issue especially for the productive age, as it can reduce work productivity. The CERDIK behavior (Check health regularly, Eliminate cigarette smoke, Regular physical activity/exercise, Healthy and balanced diet, Enough rest, and Manage stress) is one of the ways that can be done to prevent and control hypertension. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the application of CERDIK behavior among productive age hypertensive patients at Air Putih Community Health Center. This research is an observational study with a cross-sectional approach. The research was conducted from April to June 2024 at the Air Putih Public Health Center in Samarinda City. The sample consisted of 130 people who regularly underwent hypertension checks, selected through simple random sampling. Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using multiple logistic regression testing. The results of the multiple logistic regression analysis indicate that the most significant factors related to CERDIK behavior are self-efficacy (p= 0.000) and self-regulation (p= 0.017). Self-efficacy is a key concept in social cognitive theory. Self-efficacy affects how a person thinks, feels, motivates themselves, and acts. The self-regulation of individuals with hypertension is shaped by beliefs that enhance their ability to implement CERDIK behavior.
