Abstract

The multiplication operation in maths is still considered to be difficult by school students. Despite, multiplication is one of the most important topics in mathematics learning, since this operation is taught from elementary to secondary school levels, and we often encounter its application in everyday life. In the learning process, the multiplication operations will not only develop mathematical numeracy skills, understanding multiplication will also have an impact on the growth of students' critical thinking skills. Therefore, the basic concepts related to multiplication operations in mathematics must be taught fundamentally by the students, thus they can take advantage of it later on in their daily life.

Abstract

This study aimed at developing STAD type-based cooperative learning materials to improve students’ collaborative thinking skill. The study used Research and Development (R&D) method by Thiagarajan which consists of four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminative. The developed materials included RPP, LKPD and THPD. The validity result of the pre test and post test showed that the materials fulfilled valid criteria. The validity test was done using SPSS 14 program and the results showed that Sig. (2- tailed) value was lower than (≤) 0,05 and thus considered valid, and the Alpha Croncbrach was higher than (≥) 0,60 which made it considered reliable. The validity test for the results of practicality observation test showed a result of very practical and the effectivity results were gained from one-sample t-test that was by comparing the pre-test and post-test scores, which showed that the students and teacher’s activity in the limited classroom fulfilled the criteria practical and effective. The STAD type cooperative learning materials developed in this study had significant effects on students’ collaborative thinking skill in solving addition and subtraction problems. Based on the table of descriptive results for paired sample t-test, it can be concluded that there was differences on the average score of 85 > 71,67 and Sig.(2-tailed) = 0,000 which means Sig. < 0,05. Based on those results, it can be concluded that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted which means that the learning results between pre-test and post-test were different.

Abstract

One of the learning characteristics applied by Universitas Terbuka (UT) is using digital media integrated with problem-based learning in independent learning. This research was intended to develop digital scrapbooks as the digital media integrated with problem-based learning to foster the students’ learning outcomes in Statistics Education. As many as 108 UT students who took Statistics Education subject in the 2020 registration period were targeted as the research subjects; they involved 56 students participating in webinar tutorials and 52 students participating in online tutorials. The research instruments used were the assessment sheets used by the experts, the student questionnaires, and tests. There were five stages of developmental research as applied in this research, and they covered planning, exploratory studies, product development, expert validation, and field testing in small groups. The results obtained were that the digital scrapbook met the expert validity based on the constructivism theory and statistical concepts. Moreover, the implementation of digital scrapbooks met practical criteria since all students felt enthusiastic and claimed that it was able to help them in understanding Statistics Education. Its implementation met the effective criteria based on the mean scores obtained on the student learning outcomes, 75.75 on the 0-100 scale, and no students scored under 60. It was concluded that the use of digital scrapbooks in the Statistics Education subject met validity, practical, and effective criteria.

Abstract

Metaliteracy is the framing and strengthening of information literacy based on critical and creative thinking. Metaliteracy indicators include generating, combining, using, participating, sharing, and collaborating. To implement higher-order thinking skills, we implement research-based learning with a STEM approach. To develop the students’ metaliteracy, educators should also equip the learning process by learning materials. In this study, we developed RBL-STEM learning materials to improve students' metaliteracy skills. The learning materials that have been developed are considered to be valid, effective, and practical. The validity score obtained in each materials is 3.5 for the Lesson Plan, 3.54 for the Student Worksheet, and 3.63 for the Learning Outcomes Test.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) describe the process of developing a fotonovela learning media by using Ms Publisher on arithmetic sequence and progression, (2) to know the results of developing learning media Ms Publisher on arithmetic sequence and progression. Online learning media allows students to access information quickly and more efficiently. This research was processed through the stages of 4D that are define, design, develop, and disseminate. Development research results a product is tested validity, practically, and effectiveness. The research instruments used were questionnaire for needs analysis, validation sheets, test, and student response questionnaire. The subjects of the test were 34 students of XI MIPA 4 SMAN 1 Tempeh. The media validation includes three aspects, namely materian and question aspects, content aspects, and language aspects.The result of fotonovela validation including valid criteria with an average of 3,67. Then the effectiveness of media on students learning outcomes included in high level of effectiveness with percentage 88,24%. While the criteria of fotonovela media practicity gets the percentage of student response by 85,23% which is included in high criteria.

Abstract

After the Covid-19 pandemic, students are used to online learning, namely learning using gadgets. It is a fact that more students use their gadgets to play online games than educational sites. In playing online games students feel they are in a game that seems real. It's not uncommon for gamers to buy a VR box to play 3D games more realistically. VR or Virtual Reality is a medium of interaction between humans and computers that makes users feel that they are in a computer environment. The aim of this research is to make VR with the right and cheaper materials, namely used cardboard and plastic bottles. The results of this study are Virtual Reality to improve students' metalliteracy abilities. Metalliteration ability is very important in the industrial era 4.0. Metalliteracy is a comprehensive framework of thinking that goes beyond other literacy with the main literacy being technology and information literacy. This metalliteracy ability is still relatively new, therefore, in this study a project-based learning model that is integrated with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) approach is applied to improve students' metalliteracy abilities by presenting STEM problem solving in learning. The STEM problem raised in this study is the use of used cardboard in making VR (virtual reality). Shiva made VR based on the concept of light refraction in convex mirrors, then PjBL and STEM tools were developed in learning to increase student metalliteracy by calculating the surface area of geometric shapes. The results of the research are in the form of learning activities in the form of table descriptions of 1-6 stages of learning activities.

Abstract

Let  be a finite collection of simple, nontrivial and undirected graphs. A graph  is as antimagic total covering if there is bijectif  function  for every subgraph in which isomorfic to  and the total  weight,  form arithmetic sequence , in which a,b are integers and n is a number of graph cover of which the result of total comb product operation. A antimagic total covering  is as "super" if smallest label is used for vertex labelling. The way for labelling a graph this time, using a knight move partition techniques application. The graph use total comb product operation . Abstract

Mathematical literacy ability is a very important ability in learning mathematics. Through mathematical literacy, students are expected to be able to formulate, define, and interpret mathematics in various problem-solving contexts of everyday life. Mathematical literacy is also related to the international assessment standard, namely PISA, where PISA results in Indonesia are still considered low. One of the causes of low mathematical literacy ability is that the learning model and approach given are still not optimal. Therefore, this study aims to develop a framework for research-based learning activities or research-based learning with the STEM approach in applying permutation material to the problem of classification of predatory and prey fish to improve mathematical literacy. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. The results of this study are in the form of a research based learning framework with a STEM approach. The results of the syntax are then applied to the learning tools used in the learning process. Therefore, this research produces a new syntax for research based learning that is integrated with STEM.

Abstract

All graph in this paper is simple and connected graph where $V(G)$ is vertex set and $E(G)$ is edge set. Let function $f : V(G)\longrightarrow \{0, 2,..., 2k_v\}$ as vertex labeling and a function $f: E(G)\longrightarrow \{1, 2,..., k_e\}$ as edge labeling where $k=max\{2k_v,k_e\}$ for $k_v,k_e$ are natural number. The weight of edge $ u,v\in E(G) $ under $f$ is $w(u)=f(u)+ \Sigma_{uv \in V(G)} f(uv)$. In other words, the function $f$ is called local edge irregular reflexive labeling if every two adjacent edges has distinct weight and weight of a edge is defined as the sum of the labels of edge and the labels of all vertex incident this edge When we assign each edge of $G$ with a color of the edge weight $w(uv)$, thus we say the graph $G$ admits a local edge irregular reflexive coloring. The minimum number of colors produced from local edge irregular reflexive coloring of graph $G$ is reflexive local irregular chromatic number denoted by $\chi_{lrecs}(G).$ Furthermore, the minimum $k$ required such that $\chi_{lrecs}(G)=\chi(G)$ is called a local reflexive edge color strength, denoted by \emph{lrecs}$(G)$. In this paper, we learn about the local edge irregular reflexive coloring and obtain \emph{lrecs}$(G)$ of planar related graphs.

Abstract

All graph in this paper are connected graph and simple graph. Let G = (V,E)be a connected graph. Rainbow vertex connection is the assignment of G that has interior vertices with different colors. The minimum number of colors from the rainbow vertex coloring in graph G is called rainbow vertex connection number. If wf(u) ̸= wf(v) for two different vertext u, v ∈ V (G) then f is called antimagic labeling for graph G. Rainbow vertex antimagic coloring is a combination between rainbow coloring and antimagic labeling. Graph G is called rainbow vertex antimagic coloring 2-connection if G has at least 2 rainbow paths from u − v. Rainbow vertex antimagic coloring 2-connection to denoted as rvac2(G). In this paper, we will study rainbow vertex antimagic coloring 2-connection on a family of graphs ladder that includes H-graph Hn for n ≥ 2, slide ladder graph SLn for n ≥ 2, and graph Octa-Chain OCn for n ≥ 2.
