Abstract

Kenanga and sengon wood are known for their inferior properties, necessitating effort to enhance their quality. In Wood Industry, thermal modification was used to enhance wood properties especially dimensional stability. The objective of this research was to evaluated the effect of wood species and thermal modification on physical and mechanical properties of wood. The wood modified by steam treatment at temperature of 1260C at pressure of 0.14 MPa for 1 hour. The physical properties tested included density, moisture content, volumetric swelling, and anti-swelling efficiency. The mechanical properties tested were the modulus of elasticity and modulus of rupture. The mechanical properties of the wood were tested according to ASTM D 143-05 (1996), and all parameters were compared between the thermal-modified wood and the control. The results showed that the density and moisture content parameters were only influenced by wood species while thermal modification and interaction of wood species and thermal modification did not affect density and moisture parameters. Furthermore, heat modification significantly improved the dimensional stability of the wood, as evidenced by a decrease in volumetric swelling and anti-swelling efficiency value higher than 40%. Additionally, heat modification slightly enhanced the mechanical properties of kenanga and sengon wood as seen from the increased values of modulus of elasticity and modulus of rupture values.

Abstract

Kompetensi dan efisiensi penggunaan kayu menjadi penting untuk diperhatikan. Hal ini berkaitan dengan mulai terbatasnya jumlah pasokan kayu berkualitas dari hutan alam. Hutan rakyat merupakan alternatif pemasok kayu yang memiliki potensi cukup besar untuk memenuhi kebutuhan kayu baik skala UMKM lokal maupun industri nasional. Penelitian terkait karakteristik kayu pada hutan rakyat terus dikembangkan untuk mengetahui karakterstik kayu dalam mengoptimalkan nilai pemanfaatannya. Salah satu jenis kayu berpotensi tinggi dalam hutan rakyat adalah kayu dari jenis pohon buah-buahan, salah satunya kayu durian. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji struktur anatomi dan sifat fisis kayu durian sebagai acuan dalam pemanfaatan kayunya secara optimal. Sifat fisis kayu durian menunjukkan bahwa kayu durian tergolong kelas kuat III dengan nilai berat jenis 0.48 dan nilai TJS 33.81 %. Struktur makroskopis kayu durian menunjukkan bahwa kayu durian memiliki pori berupa tata baur berbentuk lonjong berdiameter 143.78µ, soliter dan bergabung dengan frekuensi 3 pori per mm2. Kualitas serat kayu durian terlihat dari nilai turunan dimensi serat (bilangan muhlstep, runkle ratio, daya tenun, koefesien kekakuan, nilai kelenturan) yang tergolong kelas II (kualitas sedang sebagai bahan baku pulp). Abstract

The demand for a diverse range of solid wood products has been steadily increasing. The unique grain patterns inherent to each wood species render solid wood products to possess distinct market segments. Nevertheless, the inherent vulnerabilities of wood as a biomaterial, such as susceptibility to decay, dimensional instability, and low resistance to organisms, necessitate specialized treatment for wood products. One environmentally sustainable treatment methodology, capable of enhancing the aesthetic value of wood, is the yakisugi finishing technique”a method involving the controlled charring of the wood surface. Notably, this technique remains relatively unfamiliar amongst small and medium-sized wood processing enterprises (UMKM) and the millennial generation. Consequently, this engagement initiative assumes significant importance in introducing the yakisugi finishing method to the millennial cohort. The unique visual characteristics of wood, engendered by this technique, hold the potential to serve as a catalyst for innovation in the realm of wooden product development by millennials. The engagement activities primarily encompass instructional modules, comprising theoretical elucidations and practical applications. Participants, affiliated with the youth group 'karang taruna,' have demonstrated appreciable enthusiasm towards the engagement activities that pertain to the yakisugi technique. It is anticipated that novel products will emerge as a result of the application of the yakisugi finishing technique, particularly within the domain of contemporary minimalist furniture products.

Abstract

Research aims: The importance of digital financial literacy (DFL) as a core component of education is expected to grow in the digital age. Social media platforms have made huge improvements in their ability to support information sharing and the establishment of educational communities. A total of 30 samples were obtained from YouTube video creators in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The authors compared two models of User Engagement Rate in this study, specifically Commitment 1: Engagement Rate and Commitment 2: Total Engagement. The objective of this study is, thus, to investigate the characteristics of social media video content that resulted in greater user interaction on social media platforms, specifically in the context of using YouTube as a platform for digital financial literacy tools.Design/Methodology/Approach: The present study employed quantitative methodologies, specifically exploratory factor analysis and predictive regression models.Research findings: The findings indicate that the fluency of videos, vividness level, and content type exerted a substantial influence on user engagement rate when considered in an integrated way rather than individually. The factors of popularity and virality had a substantial impact on the rates of user engagement.Theoretical contribution/Originality: This study represents a pioneering investigation into the potential of YouTube as a catalyst for progress in the realm of financial education, with a specific focus on enhancing digital financial literacy. Practitioner/Policy implication: Collaboration between content creators, corporate partners, and government entities can be leveraged to produce a very successful and widely shared video, hence creating the lucrative potential for monetization.Research limitation/Implication: This study was limited to three countries located in the Southeast Asian region, serving as the residence for content providers.

Abstract

Education is the process to form an individual’s character into someone possesses useful knowledge in daily life. Teaching assistance Program was one of government’s efforts to improve the quality of learning activities in Indonesi. This article aims to provide an explanation of the implementation of Teaching Assistance Program for the first-year student of Forestry Program at Matarma Universita, which conducted at the Forestry Vocational School, Wana Wisata Sekaroh, Jerowaru Subdistrict, East Lombok. This activity took place approximately 4 months. The method of implementing the program cosnsisted of orientation, deployment, observation, planning program, report, program execution,and evaluation. The activities carried out included teaching program, assisting with school administrarion, creating a school garden, assisting with technology adaptatiom, conducting outreach to student about the graduate from Yunior high school and the nearest junior high school, creating banners and poster, establishing a Numeracy Literacy Garden, Planting tree sapling within the School, and making charcoal briquettes from corn husk, The series of activitie were carried out successfully.

Abstract

Briket arang merupakan salah satu alternatif pemanfaatan limbah tanaman kemiri menjadi produk bernilai ekonomis dan memiliki nilai manfaat yang tinggi. Oleh karena itu, mutu bahan bakar briket arang dapat diketahui dengan menguji terlebih dahulu sifat fisisnya.  Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis sifat fisis briket arang cangkang kemiri dan serbuk batang kayu kemiri.  Metode yang digunakan metode eksperimen dengan rancangan percobaan non faktorial dengan dua perlakuan dan tiga  kali ulangan. Hasil analisis keragaman briket arang cangkang kemiri dan serbuk kemiri menunjukan variasi jenis berpengaruh nyata terhadap kadar abu, kadar zat terbang dan nilai kalor tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kadar air dan kadar karbon terikat. Briket arang cangkang kemiri mempunya sifat fisis antara lain kadar air 0.61%, kadar abu 14.66%, kadar zat terbang 12.27%, kadar karbon terikat 68.38% dan kalor 4616 cal/gr.  Briket arang serbuk batang kayu kemiri antara lain kadar air 0.30%, kadar abu16.94%, kadar zat terbang 19.30%, kadar karbon terikat 63.47% dan kalor 3883 cal/gr. Berdasarkan standar SNI 01-6235-2000 maka nilai kadar air dan kadar zat terbang briket arang cangkang kemiri dan serbuk kemiri telah memenuhi standar tetapi untuk kadar abu dan nilai kalor belum memenuhi standar.  Berdasarkan standar SNI 01-6235-2000, kadar karbon terikat tidak ada.

Abstract

The cause of the main problem in humans who behave consumptively is someone who cannot control themselves because of their inability to manage themselves properly with a way of life that needs to follow the latest fashions. The hedonic lifestyle of students has a favorable impact on consumer conduct. The information used in this research was gathered by sending questionnaires to respondents; this research approach employs quantitative approaches. The basic regression the data was examined using analysis. As stated by studies done on pupils at the Islamic Economics Department of UINSU by providing questionnaires regarding lifestyle's impact on consumption patterns, the author draws the conclusion that lifestyle affects the purchasing habits of UINSU students in the Islamic Economics Department. This is evidenced by the Ho is rejected but Ha is approved, according to the t test findings, which show a sig. value for the influence of variable X on Y of 0.000 <0.05 and a t count of 10.754> t table 1.984. Thus, it may be claimed that variable X significantly influences (lifestyle) and variable Y (consumptive behavior).

Abstract

Briket arang merupakan energi alternatif dengan pengaplikasian teknologi tepat guna dengan memanfaatkan limbah bahan berlignoselulosa seperti kayu maupun sisa pertanian seperti tempurung kelapa, sekam padi, dan serbuk gergaji kayu. Teknologi sederhana pada proses pembuatan briket menjadikan produk ini mudah diproduksi oleh kalangan masyarakat pada tingkat pedesaan. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan baku biomassa selain kayu telah banyak dikombinasikan dengan berbagai limbah pertanian untuk mendapatkan nilai kalor yang optimum Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sifat fisis briket arang tempurung kelapa dan limbah serbuk kayu serta menentukan standar mutu berdasarkan SNI 01-6235-2000. Salah satu bahan baku limbah pertanian yang memiliki nilai kalor yang tinggi adalah tempurung kelapa. Nilai kalor yang tinggi pada tempurung kelapa kemudian dikombinasikan dengan berbagai bahan lain agar menghasilkan briket dengan nilai kalor tinggi dan efisien. Selain tempurung kelapa, penggunaan limbah serbuk kayu juga ternyata mampu memberikan nilai kalor yang cukup tinggi dengan kadar air yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sifat fisis briket arang tempurung kelapa dan limbah serbuk kayu serta menentukan standar mutu berdasarkan SNI 01-6235-2000. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial dengan dua perlakuan jenis bahan baku serta tiga kali ulangan. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian sifat fisis maka briket arang tempurung kelapa telah memenuhi standar SNI 01-6235-2000 sementara briket arang serbuk kayu hanya pengujian kadar air dan kadar zat terikat yang memenuhi standar. Hasil uji analisis keragaman pada menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata terhadap nilai kadar abu, kadar zat terbang, karbon zat terikat dan nilai kalor tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kadar air. Limbah tempurung kelapa layak dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku briket arang karena berdasarkan hasil pengujian sifat fisis briket arang telah memenuhi standar SNI 01-6235-2000.

Abstract

Extensive research on human behavior and decision-making has been conducted because sustainable practices are among the elements that help improve the quality of human life today. Members of various generations act differently from others in terms of consumer references, ideas, habits, and how they approach societal issues when making judgments. In addition to determining whether or not they are persuaded to adopt specific investing niches, like sustainable investments, based on their personal perspectives, the research aims to ascertain the level of awareness of sustainability issues in finance among Millennials and Generation Z in Indonesia. The research is presented as quantitative research, with 240 individual investor samples. Data were examined using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results indicate that influencers do not impact sustainable investment, while impact on return, risk-averseness, and positive performance positively influence sustainable investments. Finally, this paper discusses the implications for investors and the government.

Abstract

The development of technological knowledge in Indonesia is growing very rapidly along with increasing technological knowledge such as automatic coffee drink mixers. This automatic coffee brewing system is defined as a system that is defined as a system that is able to make human work easier and shorten time. Therefore, we need a medium that controls via Arduino-based Android control, with the aim of making it easier to access information. This Arduino-based Android control system will make it easier to access automatic coffee drink mixers by setting the appropriate ingredient measurements needed. Through Android control, the process of making coffee drinks automatically becomes optimal and more effective in making coffee drinks.
