Abstract

Information and communication technology advancement can transform traditional marketing into internet-based marketing. Marketing digitalization was initially more researched in large companies but was still limited in digital marketing research in SMEs. This study aims to close a knowledge gap to describe the implementation of digital marketing in SMEs and analyze the impact on SME performance. This study used 184 samples of SMEs in West Sumatra. Research variables include entrepreneur aspects, business aspects and infrastructure aspects. The data were analyzed using descriptive and binary logits. The findings show that gender and firm size significantly influence how well digital marketing is used in SMEs. Women entrepreneurs more intensively use social media for digital marketing activities, but limited resources and infrastructure cause SMEs more limited opportunities to adopt digital marketing.

Abstract

The Social Economics Department of the Faculty of Agriculture initiated an academic partnership with KKI Warsi in implementing MBKM learning, research and community service. The purpose of this collaboration is in an effort to improve the quality of learning at the University and as a bridge for the transfer of knowledge from the university to the whole community as a form of the tri dharma of higher education. This community service activity was carried out at the KUPS Payung Sirukam social forestry group located in Nagari Sirukam, Payung Sekaki District, Solok Regency which was fostered by KKI Warsi. This service was carried out because the Robusta coffee plant in Nagari Sirukam is a plant that is still a legacy from the Dutch colonial period, where the cultivation process was not carried out intensively by farmers. This cultivation problem affects the quality of coffee. Thus, it is necessary to conduct counseling on Robusta coffee cultivation to farmers who are members of KUPS Payung Sirukam. From this counseling, farmers gain knowledge about good quality coffee beans, the maintenance process through good coffee cultivation patterns, and how to vegetatively rejuvenate coffee seedlings. Rejuvenation of coffee plants is one of the efforts that can be made in order to produce coffee plants that are the same as the main plants to maintain the quality of the sirukam coffee and shorten the harvesting life of the plants.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan komoditas unggulan subsektor tanaman pangan dan tanaman perkebunan, kawasan sentra produksi komoditas unggulan, serta program yang telah dilaksanakan dalam mendukung pengembangan komoditas unggulan di Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis Location Quotient (LQ) untuk menentukan komoditas unggulan, dan Shift Share Analysis (SSA) untuk menentukan kawasan sentra produksi. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan komoditas unggulan subsektor tanaman pangan dan perkebunan beserta kawasan sentra produksinya, yaitu komoditas unggulan Padi dengan kawasan sentra produksi Kecamatan Linggo Sari Baganti; Komoditas unggulan Jagung dengan kawasan sentra produksi Kecamatan Ranah Ampek Hulu Tapan; Komoditas unggulan Kelapa Sawit dengan kawasan sentra produksi Ranah Pesisir; Komoditas unggulan Pala dengan kawasan sentra produksi Kecamatan Koto XI Tarusan; dan Komoditas Unggulan Gambir dengan kawasan sentra produksi Kecamatan Koto XI Tarusan. Program-program pemerintah daerah yang telah dilaksanakan secara langsung berhubungan dengan pengembangan komoditas unggulan, khususnya komoditas unggulan Padi, Jagung, Kelapa Sawit, Pala, dan Gambir. Pemerintah daerah selaku pengambil kebijakan diharapkan mampu untuk mempertahankan kebijakan yang sudah ada, dan menyusun kembali program-program yang dapat terfokus terhadap pengembangan komoditas unggulan daerah

Abstract

Pemasaran memegang peranan penting dalam sistem agribisnis, sebagai usahatani komersial pemasaran Ubi Jalar Manohara akan menentukan keberhasilan dan keberlanjutan usahatani petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan saluran, lembaga, dan fungsi pemasaran Ubi Jalar Manohara di Nagari Koto Tinggi, Kecamatan Baso, Kabupaten Agam, (2) menganalisis marjin pemasaran dan farmer’s share, serta (3) menganalisis efisiensi pemasaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survey. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari petani, pedagang pengumpul dan pedagang antar daerah. Pengambilan sampel petani dilakukan dengan metode pengambilan sampel secara sengaja (purposive sampling). Pengambilan sampel pedagang dilakukan dengan metode snowball sampling. Analisis data dilakukan secara kualitatif untuk tujuan pertama, dan analisis kuantitatif untuk tujuan kedua dan ketiga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) terdapat 3 saluran pemasaran Ubi Jalar Manohara, yaitu Saluran I :  Petani – Konsumen antara (Industri Pengolahan Stik ubi), Saluran II: Petani – Pedagang Pengumpul – Konsumen Antara (Pabrik Saus), Saluran III: Petani – Pedagang Pengumpul – Pedagang Pengecer – Konsumen Akhir yang melakukan fungsi pemasaran yang terdiri dari fungsi pertukaran, fungsi fisik dan fungsi fasilitas yang berbeda beda. (2) Nilai margin pemasaran terkecil terdapat pada saluran I, nilai farmer’s share terbesar terdapat pada saluran I (3) nilai persentasi efisiensi pemasaran terkecil terdapat pada saluran I. Disarankan kepada petani sebaiknya memasarkan Ubi Jalar Manohara mereka pada saluran I yaitu menjualkan ubi langsung ke industri pengolahan ubi, karena dari tingkat efisiensi pemasaran, saluran I lebih efisien dibanding saluran lainnya dan kepada pemerintah yang terkait diharapkan untuk dapat memberikan sosialisasi untuk memperluas agroindustri ubi yang mengolah ubi menjadi berbagai produk turunannya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perkembangan ekspor nanas kaleng Indonesia dan menganalisis faktor- faktor yang mempengaruhi volume ekspor nanas kaleng Indonesia ke Amerika Serikat. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan analisis regresi linear berganda untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi volume ekspor nanas kaleng Indonesia ke Amerika Serikat. Data yang dianalisis berupa data sekunder (time series) dari tahun 2001 hingga tahun 2020. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian perkembangan ekspor nanas kaleng Indonesia ke Amerika Serikat selama periode 2001-2020 menunjukan kondisi yang meningkat, dengan rata-rata peningkatan ekspor sebesar 7.64% setiap tahunnya. Dengan konstribusi nanas kaleng yang diekspor ke Amerika Serikat 28.45% dari total ekspor nanas kaleng Indonesia setiap tahunnya. Sedangkan faktor yangberpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap volume ekspor nanas kaleng Indonesia ke Amerika Serikat adalah produksi nanas kaleng, konsumsi domestik dan konsumsi Amerika Serikat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis usaha yang dilakukan oleh bapak Sapardi dan menganalisis besarnya keuntungan Usaha Serai Wangi Menjadi Minyak Atsiri Asliko di Kelurahan Limau Manis Kecamatan Pauh Kota Padang. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa (1) Pada aspek sumberdaya usaha ini memiliki tenaga kerja sebanyak 2 orang, pada aspek peralatan dan mesin usaha ini masih menggunakan cara manual, pada aspek produksi untuk pengadaan bahan baku usaha Minyak Atsiri memasok dari petani sserai wangi di sekitar daerah Padang, pada aspek bauran pemasaran untuk mendistribusikan produk langsung ke pabrik pengolahan. Pada aspek yang terakhir yaitu keuangan usaha ini memiliki sumber modal sendiri (2) Pendapatan penjualan yang diperoleh Usaha Minyak Atsiri selama periode Januari-Agustus 2019 adalah sebesar Rp 24.000.000,- sedangkan total biaya produksi yang dikeluarkan sebesa Rp13.900.000,. Keuntungan atau laba bersih yang diperoleh oleh Usaha Minyak Atsiri selama periode Juli-Agustus 2019 adalah sebesar Rp 10.017.584,- dari total pendapatan penjualan. Hal ini memperlihatkan bahwa usaha Minyak Atsiri masih mampu memperoleh keuntungan walaupun saat ini bahan baku serai wangi termasuk mahal

Abstract

Polybags are planting media that are often used as nursery media. However, the use of polybags can cause the environment to become polluted due to the use of plastic, which is difficult to decompose by soil microbes, and also can destroy planting media and caused root damage in planting process to the field. One way to overcome these problems is to use organic-based nursery containers that are environmentally friendly. Poliarec (Polybag Organic of Areca catechu) is an organic polybag derived from areca peel waste. This product was made in 3 stages, first stages by making of polybags using 250 gr of areca peel waste to produce one unit of polybag measuring 10x10 cm. The second stage was carried out weight and density tests, and the third stage was carried out functional tests by conducting planting experiments on horticultural seeds. Poliarec can be planted directly on the ground because it is easily decomposed by microbes so that it can simultaneously become fertilizer and is able to maintain soil moisture. The density test showed, Poliarec has a low density category type based on SNI standards. It can function well as a seedling media after a functional test on chili seeds for 4 weeks. From this functional test, it was also found that Poliarec can save water usage because watering can be done once every three days. The direct benefits of this creative and innovative work are in addition to support sustainable agriculture by reducing the use of plastic polybags, and also will increasing the economic value of areca peel waste.

Abstract

An efficient agricultural commodity trade system can increase the income of farmers. This study aims to describe the channels and functions of the trading system by each institution as well as to analyze the trading system margin, the share received by farmers, and the efficiency of the red chili marketing channel in Ranah Pesisir District, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The method used is a qualitative and quantitative descriptive method where the data collection uses a survey method. The results showed that the red chili marketing channel pattern uses intermediary traders. That are collectors and retailers. The marketing function performed by farmers and red chili collectors/retailers consists of exchange, physical, and facility functions. The trading system margin on channel one is smaller compared to channel two. The percentage share of the price farmers receive in channel one is higher than in channel two. Channel one is more efficient than channel two. Trading administration institutions must pay attention to the physical function (transportation, storage, and packaging) of distributing red chilies to maintain their quality of red chilies.

Abstract

Snack food agro-industry is a potential agribusiness to be developed. Agro-industrial activities produce fresh waste that has yet to be utilized. This waste is in the form of organic solid and liquid waste. Waste left or disposed of will result in pollution. The solution to solve these problems is that waste can be recycled, reduced, and reused, named the 3R concept. This community activity involved advanced service methods, including education and demonstrations to apply the 3R concept for waste—further, the activity team also handovers decomposers and some useful equipment’s for making compost. About ten snack agro-industries attended this service activity. The extension service has provided an understanding to the snack agro-industry regarding implementing 3R and alternatives to reduce the amount of their fresh waste. Demonstrations were related to recycling solid waste into compost and assembling filtering equipment to purify liquid waste. This agro-industry counselling needs to be sustained to consistently apply the 3R concept in the production activities carried out.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the existing papaya processing in Nagari Batu Kalang and know the financial feasibility of papaya processing in Nagari Batu Kalang. This research was conducted due to Nagari Batu Kalang District Padang Sago Subdistrict Padang Pariaman Regency is one of the areas whose irrigation channel is severely damaged cause the impact of the earthquake of West Sumatera in 2009. The rice farmers in this area switched to cultivate papaya plants and there is a processing papaya into various products. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The data was analyzed by descriptive analysis and financial feasibility analysis by calculating R / C Ratio and B / C Ratio. The results showed Nagari Batu Kalang has 3 types of papaya processing into an agroindustry which produces sauce, dodol, and stick snack. The processing of the three types of products are almost same, and from 3 types of papaya product, the most feasible financially to be developed is processed sauce papaya with R / C Ratio of 2.760 and B / C Ratio of 1.760. Because the value of R / C Ratio and B / C Ratio owned is greater than 1.
