Abstract

This research is a field research with the title “Integration of Extracurricular Programs and Student Achievement Coaching at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Klaten” which aims to find out how the implementation and results of the integration of extracurricular programs and achievement coaching and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The results of the research conducted are known to be the concept of implementing the integration of extracurricular programs and fostering student achievement carried out at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Klaten which aims to provide a forum for talent interests according to what students have, and can produce knowledgeable and morally good students in accordance with the Qur'an and As-sunnah through extracurricular activities at school. It is also known that the supporting factors are in the form of support from school residents, adequate SARPRAS and cooperation between parents and teachers, then the inhibiting factor is the lack of student interest in participating in extracurricular activities and a solution is found, namely by means of extracurricular counseling by the school.category.

Abstract

Interaction of mothers and their preschool children could benefit as a stimulation of children’s letter recognition at home. This research is aimed to explore how mothers interact and used learning media in stimulating children’s early literacy skills. Data was collected by observation and interview. There were three dyad mother-children participated in this research, each of them using flash card, story book, and exercise book as learning media to introduce letters. The children were 2-5 years old and they lived in Surakarta. The result showes that during interaction, mothers gave scaffolding to their children and encouraged children to learn. While learning media supported the stimulating interaction and children early literacy skills. However children were still moody in responding to early literacy stimulation. How the findings are compared to Prophet Muhammad suggestion in children education were discussed. In conclusion, all of participants applied the interaction pattern from the Prophet Guidance and stimulated by their own in different ways. Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi strategi yang diterapkan oleh Kepala Madrasah Aliyah dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di Pondok Pesantren Modern Muhammadiyah Kabupaten Sukoharjo. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya manajemen, optimasi sumber daya, dan pengembangan kompetensi pendidik dalam meningkatkan sistem pendidikan secara keseluruhan. Menggunakan pendekatan penelitian lapangan, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara semi-terstruktur dengan kepala madrasah dan staf pengajar, serta dokumentasi kegiatan pendidikan yang terkait. Hasil penelitian ini menyoroti beberapa strategi kunci: perbaikan kurikulum, baik akademik maupun ekstrakurikuler, penerapan metode pembelajaran aktif seperti Project-Based Learning (PBL) dan Problem-Based Learning (PBL), serta pengembangan profesional pendidik yang berkelanjutan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menyoroti pentingnya peningkatan fasilitas dan sumber daya untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa peran Kepala Madrasah sangat krusial dalam keberhasilan program pendidikan dan bahwa pendekatan manajemen dan evaluasi yang sistematis diperlukan untuk mempertahankan kualitas pendidikan.

Abstract

This study was conducted to map and analyze the development of research on Science Education Data in publications that have been indexed in Scopus. The method applied is bibliometric analysis, which explores information from publications related to "Data of Science Education" from 2015 to 2024 in the Scopus database. The analysis process involved the use of tools such as Excel and R/R-Studio. The analysis results were visualized using VOS viewer to display keyword occurrences and document citations simultaneously. Within this study's framework, 1092 publications that met the set criteria were identified. The findings of this study indicate an annual growth of 21.32%, peaking in 2021. The United States was identified as the primary contributor in the number of publications, with the University of Nigeria as the most productive affiliate. The author who achieved the highest productivity in the Data of Science Education theme was Ali, N. By detailing these statistics and trends, this study provides a comprehensive overview of the literature in the education domain, while conveying recommendations for research directions that could be undertaken in the future. It is hoped that the results of this study make a valuable contribution to the in-depth understanding of data in the context of Science Education.

Abstract

The enhancement of emotional and spiritual intelligence among students presents a significant challenge in education today. One of the methods believed to significantly contribute to the development of both aspects is the duration of Qur'an memorization. However, there has been limited research specifically examining the effect of the duration of Qur'an memorization on emotional and spiritual intelligence, particularly in formal and non-formal educational settings. This study aims to examine the impact of the duration of Qur'an memorization on emotional and spiritual intelligence among students at Muhammadiyah Junior High School 1 Surakarta and Darul Ihsan Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School in Sragen. The research method employed is a quantitative approach with simple linear regression analysis to assess the relationship between memorization duration and both intelligence variables. The results show that the duration of Qur'an memorization has a significant influence on both emotional and spiritual intelligence, with a very large contribution at Muhammadiyah Junior High School 1 Surakarta (R² = 99.6% for emotional intelligence and R² = 99.7% for spiritual intelligence). At Darul Ihsan Islamic Boarding School, the duration of memorization significantly contributed to spiritual intelligence (R² = 97.4%), but its influence on emotional intelligence was only partially significant. The implications of these findings highlight the importance of integrating the Tahfidz program into the educational curriculum for character development and the need for enriched teaching methods in Islamic boarding schools to deepen students' emotional and spiritual intelligence.

Abstract

This study Science from an Islamic perspective is not only understood as the result of rationality and scientific methods, but also includes moral, spiritual, and transcendental dimensions that are oriented towards the recognition and devotion to Allah SWT. The problem that arises in the development of modern science is the dichotomy between religious science and general science which has an impact on scientific fragmentation and value crisis in Islamic education. This article aims to examine the concept of science as well as the view of the integration of religious science and general science according to Imam Al-Ghazali as a criticism of the dichotomy of science. This study uses a literature study method with a qualitative approach, with primary data sources in the form of works of Imam Al-Ghazali such as Ihya' 'Ulum al-Din and Risalah al-Laduniyyah, as well as secondary data sources in the form of relevant books and scientific articles. The results of the study show that Imam Al-Ghazali views knowledge as a means of getting closer to Allah, which must be based on ethical and moral values. The division of knowledge into the categories of fardhu 'ain and fardhu kifayah as well as shari'iyyah and 'aqliyyah is not intended as a dichotomous separation, but as a functional classification based on its usefulness and priority for the life of the ummah. Al-Ghazali emphasized that religious science and general science are complementary to each other, where reason requires the guidance of revelation and revelation requires understanding of reason. Thus, Imam Al-Ghazali's thought affirms the importance of the integration of knowledge within the framework of monotheism as the foundation for the development of holistic Islamic science and education that is relevant to the challenges of the globalization era.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education plays a strategic role in shaping students’ Islamic understanding. However, its implementation in schools is still largely dominated by conventional learning approaches that are less responsive to technological advancements and the characteristics of students in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of e-learning based Islamic Religious Education in improving students’ Islamic understanding. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Kerjo, involving an experimental group that received e-learning based Islamic Religious Education instruction and a control group that received conventional Islamic Religious Education instruction. Data were collected through tests measuring students' Islamic understanding, while data analysis included descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, preceded by prerequisite tests and difference tests to determine the effectiveness of the treatment. The findings indicate that e-learning based Islamic Religious Education has a positive effect and is more effective in enhancing students’ Islamic understanding compared to conventional Islamic Religious Education instruction. The study concludes that e-learning based Islamic Religious Education is feasible to be implemented as an alternative instructional strategy in schools. The contribution of this study lies in strengthening empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of e-learning based Islamic Religious Education and providing practical implications for teachers and schools in developing Islamic education that is adaptive to technological advancements.

Abstract

The role of a leader is an important point that needs to be considered for the organization to be implemented effectively, including in the development of a quality culture. This study aims to describe the leadership role of the Islamic boarding school director in developing a quality culture at SMA Trensains Muhammadiyah Sragen, along with the challenges and solutions. This study is classified as field research with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation were then analyzed in three steps: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Meanwhile, the validity of the data in this study was tested through technical triangulation and source triangulation. The results of the study revealed that the director plays an important role in developing a quality culture at SMA Trensains Muhammadiyah Sragen. Efforts made include ensuring the development of a quality culture in line with the school's vision and mission, building a good environment, establishing a unified curriculum, managing resources and budget optimally, establishing good communication between asatidz/ah, and building cooperative relationships with parents and the surrounding community. As for the challenges and solutions, first, in addressing the lack of teacher competency, the director seeks a language study forum. Second, in addressing the public stigma regarding expensive schools, the director developed a productive endowment managed by Lazismu Trensains.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) affects students' morals, attitudes, and understanding. The pedagogic ability of teachers to supervise the learning process has an impact on the effectiveness of PAI teaching. The purpose of this study is to analyze the pedagogic competence of PAI teachers in managing learning and its impact on students' religious understanding and development. This research uses phenomenological, qualitative, and field research methodologies. Teachers of Islamic Cultural History (SKI), Al-Qur'an Hadith, Fiqih, and Aqidah Akhlak acted as supporting informants. Observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation are the methods used to collect data. Technical triangulation is used to assess the validity of the data, while data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing are used to analyze the data. As a result of the research, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers at MA Al-Islam Jamsaren Surakarta have successfully applied their pedagogic skills. This is evidenced by the ability of teachers to prepare lessons, choose various contextual strategies and techniques, use dialogical learning, and conduct continuous evaluation and learning exercises. Students' understanding in the cognitive, emotional, and psychomotor realms is positively influenced by the teacher's pedagogic competence. The pedagogic competence of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers is supported by a number of elements, including educational background, teaching experience, support from school policies, and the availability of learning infrastructure and facilities. On the other hand, limited time for learning activities and variations in students' motivation and learning capacity are limiting factors.

Abstract

Religious awareness is very important for students to give direction to a righteous life physically and spiritually. The strategy of Islamic Religious Education teachers plays a role in fostering religious awareness in students so as to form a person with noble character. The research uses a type of qualitative research with a descriptive approach through interviews, observations and documentation and the source of research data is Islamic Religious Education teachers and students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Karanganyar. The results of the study show that Islamic Religious Education teachers in increasing religious awareness at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Karanganyar use several strategies including through the habit of congregational prayer, giving advice through general studies, motivation, and theoretical knowledge applied since 2015 for all students from grades 10, 11 and 12. With the implementation of this strategy, it is hoped that all students will be accustomed to doing worship such as prayer so as to form a person with noble and disciplined character and responsibility. In addition to building character, this strategy aims to give students an understanding that every kindness has a positive impact on themselves and others.
