Abstract

Haircare products are very important to prevent one of the problems of hair damage, both from synthetic and natural ingredients. One of the natural ingredients of hair care products is Red Palm Oil (RPO) and Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO). This research is an experimental study that aims to see whether Red Palm Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil have effectiveness in growing hair. This research method used 4 groups of test animals, namely the red palm oil group, extra virgin olive oil, negative control (aqua dest), and positive control (minoxidil). The hair growth activity test was carried out by applying each formula to the marked rabbit's back and measuring the length of the hair using a caliper on the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, and 30th days. On the 31st day, the hair weight was tested by weighing the hair using an analytical balance. The results showed that each formula had hair growth activity, but the most effective oil preparation in accelerating hair growth was Red Palm Oil (RPO).

Abstract

Spinach (Amaranthus spp) is a leaf vegetable plant that is highly nutritious and favored by all levels of society. According to information, spinach plants can be used as an additional intake in the prevention of osteoporosis (bone loss) and anemia (lack of blood) because of the high calcium and iron content in them. Two types of spinach are known in the community, namely red spinach (Alternanthera amoena Voss) and spinach snapper (Amaranthus hybridus L). The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of calcium and iron in red spinach and snapper spinach leaves. The assay was carried out using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer with an air-acetylene flame. Quantitative analyzes were carried out at wavelengths of 422.7 nm for calcium and 248.3 nm for iron. The results showed that the levels of calcium and iron obtained with the levels of calcium and iron listed in the literature were different. The results also showed that there were differences in calcium and iron levels between red spinach and snapper spinach. Calcium levels in red spinach and snapper spinach leaves were 26.8016 mg/100g and 24.2759 mg/100g, respectively. The levels of iron in red spinach and snapper spinach leaves were 714.2621 mg/100g and 236.5369 mg/100g, respectively.

Abstract

Lignin compounds and polysaccharides, the nutritious substances in aloe vera, are useful as a carrier for the nutrients needed by the skin to repair hair roots, strengthen and stimulate hair growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy of the combination of lime extract and aloe vera extract as a hair tonic preparation for hair growth. Lime and aloe vera extracts were obtained by maceration method using 96% ethanol as solvent. The combination of lime extract and aloe vera extract is formulated to be a hair tonic, with a combination of 1 (1%:1%), combination 2 (2%:1%), and combination 3 (1%:2%). Then evaluate the stability of the hair tonic preparation, homogeneity, pH, hair growth activity, and hair weight of rabbits. The results of the stability test of the hair tonic preparation of a combination of lime extract and aloe vera extract did not change color, shape, and odor. The results of the homogeneity examination of the formulations of formulas 1, 2, and 3 were homogeneous. The result of pH observation was that the higher the concentration of the combination of lime extract and aloe vera extract, the higher the pH of the preparation. The results of the measurement of rabbit fur length showed that the highest hair growth rate was formula 3 combinations (1%:2%). The results of the three formulations of the combination of lime extract and aloe vera extract showed that the longer the hair growth of the rabbit, the heavier the weight of the rabbit's hair.

Abstract

Sawo manila (Manikara zapota L.) merupakan salah satu bahan alam sebagai obat alternatif yang telah banyak dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakatnya juga untuk mengobati berbagai penyakit dan sawo merupakan tanaman dari family Sapotaceae yang digunakan dalam pengobatan tradisional. Ekstrak daun sawo manila mengandung alkaloid, tanin, flavonoid, dan saponin yang diketahui memiliki aktivitas antibakteri. Tujuan penulisan surat ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri sawo manila (Manikara zapota L.) terhadap bakteri Bacillus cereus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen, dengan metode ekstraksi maserasi dan metode chakra difusi untuk aktivitas antibakteri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa simplisia memiliki kadar air 9,30%, larut dalam air 23,72%, kadar larut air ekstrak 31,15%, kadar abu total 1,11%, dan kadar ask tidak larut asam. 0,30%. Percobaan aktivitas anti bakteri ekstrak etanol daun sawo terhadap daya hambat bakteri bacillus cereus pada konsentrasi 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% dan 100% yaitu 12,62 mm, 15,0 mm, 15,74 mm, 16,9 mm , dan 18,78 mm, control positif menggunakan kotrimoksazol dan luas zona hambat 21,5 mm daun sawo manila dapat menghambat Bacillus cereus.

Abstract

In Indonesia with a tropical climate, rosella can thrive. Roselle plant (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) is well known for its petals which can be used as a health drink that can cure various diseases. Roselle flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) contains nutritious substances such as alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, terpenoids, which have antibacterial properties. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial hand sanitizer ethanol extract of Rosella flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa L) had good quality and stability against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This research was experimental, including rosella flower sample collection, simplicia drying, extract making using a rotary evaporator, phytochemical screening, characteristics of the antibacterial activity test preparation of hand sanitizer with agar diffusion method using paper discs. Roselle flower ethanol extract can be made as Hand sanitizer in spray preparations and has antibacterial activity. The difference in the concentration of the ethanol extract is 2.5%, the inhibition zone is 6.8 mm, 5% is the inhibition zone is 7.27 mm, 7.5% is the inhibition zone is 7.72 mm and 10% is 12.35 mm. The ethanolic extract of the Roselle flower (Hibiscus sabdariffa L) can be used as a hand sanitizer preparation. It has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and is the most effective at a concentration of 10% of 12.35 mm.

Abstract

Tumbuhan pakis memiliki kandungan flavonoid, vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B kompleks, kalsium, dan fosfor. Flavonoid merupakan senyawa utama yang digunakan dalam sediaan masker gel peel-off sebagai anti-aging. Flavonoid mempunyai sifat sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan dari penilitian ini adalah memformulasikan dan mengevaluasi kemampuan masker gel peel-off ekstrak etanol daun pakis (Diplazium esculentum (Retz.)sw.) dalam memberikan efek anti-aging pada kulit wajah. Metode penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimental. Ekstrak etanol daun pakis diperoleh dengan cara maserasi menggunakan penyari etanol kemudian dipekatkan dengan rotary evaporator pada suhu 40, kemudian diformulasikan dalam sediaan masker gel peel-off dengan konsentrasi 2,5% (formula 1), 5% (formula 2), dan 7,5% (formula 3). Evaluasi terhadap sediaan masker gel peel-off meliputi pemeriksaan organoleptis, homogenitas, pengamatan stabilitas sediaan (perubahan warna, bau, pH dan waktu sediaan mongering dikulit) selama penyimpanan 4 minggu, uji viskositas, uji iritasi, dan uji efektifitas menggunakan alat skin analyzer terhadap kulit wajah. Parameter yang diukur meliputi kadar air, besar pori, jumlah noda, dan keriput. Perawatan dilakukan selama 4 minggu.Hasil penilitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun pakis dapat diformulasikan sebagai masker gel peel-off. Hasil pemeriksaan kadar air yang terbaik adalah 7,5%, pori yang terbaik adalah 7,5%, penurunan noda yang terbaik pada konsentrasi 7,5%, dan penurunan keriput yang terbaik pada konsentrasi 5% terhadap pemakaian selama empat minggu.

Abstract

Mercury is a heavy metal that can have a toxic effect on the body so that it can cause death. Mercury metal contamination in food is regulated in SNI number 7387 of 2009 regarding the Maximum Heavy Metal Limit. Some metal waste disposal ends up in river, lake, or sea waters so that metal pollution can occur in the ecosystem. This study aims to determine the levels of mercury metal contamination in canned tuna. Sample preparation was carried out using the wet digestion method with a microwave digestion device. The results of the analysis showed that from the six samples of canned tuna fish according to the maximum limit and meet the standard maximum limit of 1.0 mg/kg SNI. Mercury analysis was carried out using the AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry) method. The wavelength used is at 253.7 nm. The results showed that the mercury in tuna brand A was 0.9030±0 mg/kg tuna brand B 0.1029±0 mg/kg, tuna brand C 0.4524±0 mg/kg, tuna brand C D 0.0967±0 mg/kg, tuna brand E 0.9567 ± 0 mg/kg, and tuna brand F 0.8034±0 mg/kg.

Abstract

Colorisone of the determining factors for the quality of cosmetics. The use of synthetic colors in blus her can cause irritation on facial skin. Because of that, wetried to make a blush preparation using natural dyes, namely strawberries (Fragariavesca L). The purpose of this study was to make blushusing natural dyesfromstrawberries (Fragariavesca L). The juice is obtaineddirectly using a juicer machine, then heated in a waterbath /Waterbath to obtain a thick juice of strawberry fruit (Fragariavesca L) with a concentration of 15; 25; 35%. The resultsshowedthatthepreparationwashomogeneous, remainedstable, did not cause irritation, wassafe for the skin because thep Hofthepreparation was still in the normal skin phrange of 4.5-6.5, and was quiteliked by the respondents. The conclusion of this study shows that strawberry juice (Fragariavesca L) canbeused as a blush (blush), but the resulting colorisless visible.

Abstract

Ruwahan merupakan salah satu tradisi masyarakat muslim Jawa, Madura, Melayu, Bugis di Pontianak. Artikel ini mengkaji lebih dalam bentuk pelaksanaan tradisi Ruwahan di Kota Pontianak dan berbagai macam variablenya, mencakup aspek sosial, budaya, dan ekonomi serta melihat relevansinya dengan ajaran Islam. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data dilakukan langsung pada informan. Data primer diperoleh melalui observasi di beberapa lokasi pelaksanaan tradisi Ruwahan meliputi masjid, mushalla, madrasah diniyah dan area pemakaman. Sedangkan wawancara diperoleh melalui informan meliputi tokoh agama, tokoh adat dan pedagang di 3 pasar. Data sekunder diperoleh melalui studi pustaka seperi buku, jurnal, dan penelitian yang relevan dengan objek penelitian. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan mengungkapkan; pertama, Ruwahan di Pontianak tidak dapat dilepaskan dari peran masyarakat muslim dan telah menjadi tradisi bagi masyarakat setempat. Kedua, tradisi Ruwahan memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan ekonomi bagi masyarakat Kota Pontianak. Ketiga, tradisi Ruwahan yang dilaksanakan di Pontianak tidak bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam, oleh karena tidak terdapat unsur-unsur yang bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam, dalam hal keyakinan, praktik ziarah kubur, sedekah Ruwahan dan praktik-praktik yang terdapat dalam tradisi Ruwahan. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan dalam menguatkan eksistensi tradisi Ruwahan di tengah-tengah masyarakat terutama yang berkaitan dengan isu bid’ah dan syirik dalam praktik Ruwahan yang kerap kali di tuduhkan oleh kelompok intoleran.

Abstract

Gangguan Otot Rangka Akibat Kerja (Gotrak) merupakan keluhan atau nyeri yang muncul akibat pekerjaan dan dapat mempengaruhi produktivitas kerja. Tenaga kerja pada industri kayu masih banyak melakukan aktivitas pekerjaan secara manual sehingga memiliki risiko bahaya ergonomi dan dapat menyebabkan keluhan gotrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan keluhan gangguan otot rangka akibat kerja di PT. Bukit Intan Abadi termasuk faktor pekerjaan, faktor individu, dan faktor lingkungan kerja. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi potong lintang (cross sectional). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah SNI 9011:2021 yaitu standar untuk melakukan pengukuran potensi bahaya ergonomi di tempat kerja. Analisis data menggunakan uji statistik chi-square dan regresi logistik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai P-value untuk setiap variabel adalah postur tubuh = 0,000, pengangkatan beban secara manual = 1,000, umur = 0,055, indeks massa tubuh = 0,035, lama kerja = 0,001, pencahayaan = 0,001, suhu = 1,000, dan kebisingan = 0,284. Dari hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat 73 tenaga kerja (71,57%) yang mengalami keluhan gotrak dan 29 tenaga kerja (28,43%) tidak mengalami keluhan gotrak. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan ada hubungan antara postur tubuh, indeks massa tubuh, lama kerja, dan pencahayaan dengan keluhan gotrak serta tidak ada hubungan antara pengangkatan beban secara manual, umur, suhu, dan kebisingan dengan keluhan gotrak. Variabel yang paling dominan berhubungan dengan keluhan gotrak berdasarkan analisis multivariat adalah postur tubuh (P-value = 0,000) dengan nilai OR sebesar 34,133. Pekerja harus menghindari posisi janggal saat bekerja dan penyediaan sarana kerja harus disesuaikan dengan ukuran tubuh pekerja agar tidak banyak melakukan postur membungkuk
