Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas metode pembelajaran Outing Class terhadap kemampuan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa kelas IV SDS Muhammadiyah IDI Tello Baru Kota Makassar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes menulis karangan deskripsi sebelum dan sesudah penerapan metode Outing Class. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode Outing Class efektif dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa. Berdasarkan hasil pretest, mayoritas siswa berada pada kategori sangat rendah dengan persentase 90,91%, sementara setelah diberikan perlakuan menggunakan metode Outing Class, hasil posttest menunjukkan peningkatan dengan mayoritas siswa berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 36,36%. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji-t menunjukkan bahwa nilai Thitung = 9,718 lebih besar dari Ttabel = 2,079 (9,718 > 2,079), sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa metode belajar Outing Class dalam proses pembelajaran efektif terhadap keterampilan menulis deskripsi siswa kelas IV SDS Muhammadiyah IDI Tello Baru Kota Makassar.

Abstract

Community service activities, namely environmental hygiene counseling aim to raise environmental awareness of elementary school students and provide information about waste management, to reduce environmental pollution by waste, especially plastic waste. This activity consisted of three stages, namely (1) material presentation, (2) ice breaking activities, and (3) poster submission. This activity was held on December 21, 2022 and is located at SD Inpres Bontomanai. The environment is a place where humans and other living things live that need to be kept clean and sustainable. Therefore extension activities are carried out to raise awareness to maintain environmental cleanliness from an early age.

Abstract

This research is based on the problem of low problem-solving skills in early childhood, where children find it difficult to think, understand, and remember and are not able to solve their own problems. According to Weikart, exploration and problem solving are active ways for children to learn, which are considered important to help children become independent, make decisions, and be confident in facing new situations with problem solving. So this study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the outbound games learning method on the problem-solving skills of children aged 5-6 years. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pre-test post-test design. The research subjects consisted of 15 children at Bustanul Athfan Bulurokeng Kindergarten Group B who were selected from the research population using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected through observation guidelines that measure three main aspects: recognizing problems, finding solutions, and evaluating results. The results showed a significant increase that can be seen from children's abilities in identifying problems, thinking critically, logically, and independently in solving problems after the implementation of outbound games. There was a difference in the average pre-test score of 28.73, increasing to 58.13 in the post-test with a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). The implementation of outbound games has proven effective as an experience-based learning method to improve the problem-solving skills of early childhood, so it can be a relevant alternative for educators.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the acquisition of new vocabulary and improve the students' knowledge in constructing new vocabulary among second-grade students at Public Elementary School 2 Kelara, Jeneponto Regency, through the use of Lift-the-Flap Book media based on the Whole Language approach. This research is categorized as a development study. The research procedures include a preliminary study and information gathering, planning, development of the initial product format, initial field testing, first product revision, operational testing, and final product revis. The subjects of this study were second-grade students at Public Elementary School 2 Kelara, Jeneponto Regency. The results showed that the use of the media was effective in supporting students in constructing new vocabulary. This effectiveness is reflected in the increase in the students’ average scores, where the pre-test score of 57.5 rose to 83.3 in the post-test, representing an average improvement of 25.8 points. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the use of Lift-the-Flap Book media based on the Whole Language approach is highly valid, practical, and effective in improving both the acquisition and construction of new vocabulary among second-grade students at Public Elementary School 2 Kelara Jeneponto Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of using silent visual learning media in the form of images to enhance the cognitive development of children. This research adopts a quantitative approach using experimental design, specifically a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study involved 12 children aged 4–5 years from Class A at TK Gowata, Desa Taeng. Data were collected through treatment tests and observation and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings indicate that learning using silent visual media positively and significantly influences children’s cognitive development. The experimental group demonstrated higher average cognitive development scores compared to the control group. Silent visual media was found to effectively boost children’s enthusiasm, focus, and understanding of learning materials. Hence, this medium serves as an engaging, effective, and enjoyable method for fostering the cognitive development of early childhood learners.

Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu pembelajaran menulis cerita pendek yang di laksanakan di kelas V SD Negeri Borong Kota Makassar selama ini belum menggunakan media apapun sehingga keterampilan menulis cerita pendek di kelas tersebut masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan penggunaan media bola bergelinding (Bolding) terhadap keterampilan menulis cerpen murid kelas V SD Negeri Borong Kota Makassar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah murid kelas V SD Negeri Borong Kota Makassar berjumlah 18 orang pada tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Teknik pengambilan sampel adalah sampel jenuh. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh jumlah populasi yang dijadikan sampel sebanyak 18 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data terdiri dari tes awal (pretest), treatmen (pemberian perlakuan) dan tes akhir (posttest). Teknik analisis data meliputi analisis data statistik deskriptif dan analisis data statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran menulis cerpen dengan media bola bergelinding (Bolding) pada murid kelas V SD Negeri Borong Kota Makassar bahwa diperoleh nilai t hitung > t tabel = 3,335 > 2,100 atau nilai sig (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 maka diperoleh nilai 0,000 < 0,05 dengan demikian H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa media bola bergelinding (Bolding) efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis cerpen murid kelas V SD Negeri Borong Kota Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of diagnostic assessments in Indonesian language learning at SMP Negeri 1 Watansoppeng, Lalabata District, Soppeng Regency, as well as identify the obstacles faced by teachers in implementing diagnostic assessments in accordance with the principles of the Independent Curriculum. This study also examines the factors that affect the success of the implementation of diagnostic assessments in the school. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data was collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires to the teachers and students involved. Data analysis was carried out thematically to obtain a holistic picture of the implementation of diagnostic assessments. The results of the study show that the implementation of diagnostic assessments at SMP Negeri 1 Watansoppeng is in accordance with the principles of the Independent Curriculum, although there are still some challenges. The main obstacles faced by teachers include the diversity of students' abilities, limited facilities and infrastructure, and teachers' inadequate understanding of diagnostic assessments. Factors that affect the implementation of diagnostic assessments include teacher readiness, school support, large number of students, and the diversity of student learning styles. This study suggests that more intensive training for teachers be carried out and the improvement of facilities that support diagnostic assessments so that the implementation of assessments is more effective and in accordance with the needs of students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi dampak penerapan model pembelajaran Collaborative Writing terhadap keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI.B MA Muhammadiyah Cambajawaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan dua siklus dan melibatkan 21 siswa sebagai subjek. Pada siklus I, nilai rata-rata keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa mencapai 59,23, dengan persentase penilaian pada aspek isi sebesar 15,71%, organisasi 15,95%, kosa kata 10,71%, penggunaan bahasa 10,71%, dan penulisan 6,14%. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan menulis siswa belum memenuhi standar yang diharapkan. Namun, pada siklus II, terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan dengan nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 84,57. Persentase penilaian pada aspek isi naik menjadi 26,42%, organisasi 17,85%, kosa kata 15,95%, penggunaan bahasa 15,00%, dan penulisan 8,38%. Selain itu, aktivitas siswa dalam proses pembelajaran juga menunjukkan peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II, dinilai berdasarkan enam aspek seperti identifikasi topik, perencanaan tugas, investigasi, penyusunan teks, presentasi, dan evaluasi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Collaborative Writing berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa secara signifikan, sebagaimana dibuktikan oleh perbaikan nilai rata-rata dan peningkatan aktivitas siswa antara kedua siklus. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran Collaborative Writing efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI.B MA Muhammadiyah Cambajawaya.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is whether the application of the fun learning model can improve the skills of writing narrative essays in the fifth-grade students of UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang Makassar City. This study aims to find out how the application of the fun learning model in improving narrative essay writing skills in class V UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang Makassar City. This type of research is class action research (Class Action Research) which consists of two cycles where each cycle is carried out four times. The focus of this research is 1) narrative essay writing skills and 2) the use of fun learning models in class V UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang Makassar City. The research procedure includes planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting. The research subjects were students of class V, totaling 16 people. The data collected were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results of this study are: (1) In the first cycle, the average value of student learning outcomes for Class V UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang Makassar City is 58.7 (2) In the second cycle, the average value of student learning outcomes for class V UPT SPF is obtained. Inpres Parang Elementary School in Makassar City was higher at 82.5. The learning completeness of the fifth-grade students of UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang Makassar City has also increased. In the first cycle, from 3 (18.7%) students achieved complete learning, while in the second cycle, 14 (87.5%) students achieved learning mastery, and classical learning mastery was achieved. This means that learning completeness in cycle II is achieved classically because the number of students who complete is more than 85%.

Abstract

Mar’atul Arfiah, 2025. The Application of Flipbook Media with the TaRL Model to Improve Reading Literacy of Grade I Students at SD Inpres Kampung Mejang, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency. Undergraduate Thesis, Elementary School Teacher Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. Supervisor I: Aliem Bahri, Supervisor II: Anin Asnidar. The problem in this research is the low reading achievement of Grade I students at SD Inpres Kampung Mejang, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency. This study aims to determine whether the use of Flipbook media with the TaRL model can improve the reading literacy of Grade I students at SD Inpres Kampung Mejang, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of three meetings. Each cycle went through four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 33 Grade I students at SD Inpres Kampung Mejang. The data collection techniques used were observation, tests, and documentation. The data analysis technique applied was descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the analysis of test results in Cycle I, out of 33 students, only 11 students (33.3%) achieved mastery, while 22 students (66.6%) were still in the non-mastery category. This shows that the majority of students had not yet reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). In Cycle II, out of 33 students, 31 students (93.9%) achieved mastery, while only 2 students (6%) were still in the non-mastery category. These results indicate that most students successfully met the minimum mastery standard, proving that learning in Cycle II was effective and significantly improved students’ learning outcomes.The conclusion of this study is that the application of Flipbook media with the TaRL model can improve the reading literacy of Grade I students at SD Inpres Kampung Mejang, Bontonompo District, Gowa Regency.
