Abstract

Students’ adaptive behavior refers to their ability to respond appropriately to academic and social demands in school. This ability supports academic success and character development. In the Sambas Malay context, adaptive behavior reflects local wisdom values such as politeness, responsibility, rule obedience, and respectful social interaction. These values provide an important foundation for shaping students’ attitudes at school. This study aimed to analyze students’ adaptive behavior at SMA Negeri 1 Paloh as a basis for planning guidance and counseling services. The study used a survey design with an analytical approach. Participants were grade X students with less optimal adaptive behavior tendencies. Data were collected through questionnaires, supported by observations and interviews with guidance and counseling teachers and homeroom teachers. Descriptive analysis showed that students’ adaptive behavior was in the low category. These findings indicate the need for structured, continuous support through mindfulness-based guidance and counseling integrated with Sambas Malay local wisdom. This approach is expected to strengthen self-awareness, emotional regulation, responsibility, and sustainable adjustment in school life for all students.

Abstract

The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) plays a strategic role in addressing drug abuse, one of which is through rehabilitation services that include addiction counseling. This counseling is an essential component in supporting users' recovery from drug dependence. However, addiction counseling at BNN has not been extensively explored, particularly in relation to the service profile, methods used, the role of counselors, and the challenges faced in daily practice. This study aims to describe the profile of addiction counseling carried out at BNN, including the approaches, methods, roles of counselors, and challenges in the rehabilitation process of drug users. The research adopts a qualitative approach using a survey study method, which typically begins with problem identification and the establishment of clear and measurable research objectives, followed by a literature review to build a theoretical framework. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation of rehabilitation services at BNN. The results show that addiction counseling at BNN is implemented in a structured manner, with counselors playing a vital role as companions and facilitators in the recovery process. The main challenges encountered include clients' capabilities, limited resources, and societal perceptions. These findings highlight the need for enhanced and strengthened systemic support in the addiction counseling process. The study concludes with recommendations to strengthen cross-sector collaboration by involving various stakeholders, including civil society organizations, healthcare institutions, and the education sector, in order to create a more integrated and sustainable rehabilitation system.

Abstract

The rapid integration of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in higher education has sparked global concerns regarding academic integrity and regulation. However, existing literature often generalizes student perceptions through a binary STEM versus non-STEM lens, obscuring crucial intradisciplinary variations. This study investigated the disparities in ethical awareness and regulatory demands regarding GenAI among university students, specifically challenging the monolithic categorization of Non-Exact Sciences. Employing a quantitative cross-sectional survey, data from 721 Indonesian undergraduates were collected using a 25-item Likert-scale questionnaire, validated via Pearson correlation with high reliability (Cronbach’s α = 0.957). Statistical analysis using the Kruskal-Wallis H test revealed a significant divergence from traditional assumptions. While macro-analysis confirmed Exact Science students generally exhibit higher ethical awareness, granular post-hoc analysis uncovered Language Education students represent a positive anomaly. These findings empirically operationalize the concept of 'epistemological proximity,' the degree to which GenAI intersects with a discipline's core ontology, such as text production in language studies. As a measurable predictor of AI ethical awareness, students in text-centric disciplines (Language Education) demonstrated significantly higher ethical (Mean Rank = 419.64) and regulatory demand scores (Mean Rank = 403.17) compared to other Non-Exact Sciences (p < .001), rendering their profiles statistically indistinguishable from Exact Sciences. Thus, epistemological proximity is a stronger and more operational predictor of ethical awareness than broad binary disciplinary labels. The study concludes that the non-exact sciences  category is no longer relevant for AI adoption studies and recommending policymakers develop discipline-sensitive AI literacy programs addressing the specific regulatory vacuums.
