Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of ethanol extract of gemitir flower (Tagetes erecta L.) on total cholesterol levels, Low-Density Lipoprotein C (LDL), Malondialdehyde (MDA), Apolipoprotein B (ApoB). Forty-eight Rattus norvegicus were randomly divided into 6 groups, groups were given standard feed (K-) and 5 groups of hyperlipidemia models (K +, P1, P2, P3, P4) were given High Fat Diet (HFD) for 35 days. On the 36th day, the total cholesterol levels were checked through the tail of Rattus norvegicus, and from day 37 to day 50 were given a normal diet (K-), HFD (K +), simvastatin 10 mg/kgBW (P1), ethanol extract of gemitir flowers (Tagetes erecta L.) 200 (P2), 400 BW (P3), and 800 mg/kgBW (P4). On day 51, the total cholesterol, LDL-C, MDA, and ApoB blood serum levels were checked. The results showed total cholesterol, Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL), Malondialdehyde (MDA), and Apolipoprotein B (ApoB) given ethanol extract of gemitir flowers 200 and 400 mg/kgBW (P2) had a significant reduction (P < 0.05). Giving ethanol extract of gemitir flower (Tagetes erecta L.) could reduce levels of total cholesterol, LDL, MDA, and Apo B.

Abstract

E-marketing communications offer a great way to establish and enhance connections with customers. In this digital realm, there are various key strategies to consider. One of them is delivering relevant and captivating content that truly resonates with the target audience. Another strategy involves encouraging internet users to engage with the content by leaving comments, sharing their own content, or even participating in interactive games provided by the company. The main objective of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of the knowledge, characteristics, and impact of owned media on digital marketing. To conduct this research, the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta Analysis related to owned media were utilized. Data was collected from multiple journal sites indexed in Scopus over a span of six years. The findings of this study reveal that having a large social media following does not necessarily translate to increased sales. In fact, owned social media platforms tend to be more effective for brands with a smaller number of followers. Additionally, while it may be tempting to adopt a one-size-fits-all global social media strategy, it is crucial to take into account the cultural context of each country. In countries with a high power distance, a more nuanced approach is required for owned social media to be truly effective. This research contributes to a better understanding of the functions of social media and provides valuable insights for developing effective marketing strategies.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a condition of elevated blood pressure that can be influenced by various factors, such as lack of physical activity, an unhealthy diet, and an imbalance in nutritional intake. If left uncontrolled, high blood pressure can increase the risk of cardiovascular complications such as stroke, heart disease, and kidney disorders. Blood pressure control can be achieved through pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches. One non-pharmacological approach that can be implemented is a combination of physical activity and nutritional interventions, such as the Semangat Sehat Program, which consists of healthy exercise and watermelon juice consumption. Purpose: To provide education on blood pressure control through the implementation of hypertension exercise therapy and watermelon juice consumption in patients with hypertension. Method: This activity was conducted in the 13 Ulu Village, Palembang City, involving 30 participants from the 13 Ulu Village area with hypertension complaints. The goal of this activity was to provide education to increase awareness, motivation, and the implementation of a healthy lifestyle in hypertension management. Education was provided community-based with mentoring and an interactive communication approach. The intervention included hypertension exercise and watermelon juice. Evaluation was conducted by measuring blood pressure before therapy (pre-test) and after therapy (post-test). The results were analyzed to determine the effectiveness of the therapy in controlling blood pressure. Results: Blood pressure measurements from 30 participants before the intervention (pre-test) revealed an average systolic blood pressure of 148 mmHg, with a minimum of 99 mmHg and a maximum of 182 mmHg. Meanwhile, the average diastolic blood pressure was 89.34 mmHg, with a minimum of 66 mmHg and a maximum of 129 mmHg. After the intervention (post-test), the average systolic blood pressure decreased to 136 mmHg, with a minimum of 95 mmHg and a maximum of 168 mmHg. Meanwhile, the average diastolic blood pressure decreased to 83.34 mmHg, with a minimum of 60 mmHg and a maximum of 118 mmHg. Conclusion: Community service activities through the "Semangat Sehat" program intervention, which combines hypertension exercise and watermelon juice nutrition, can help lower blood pressure. The Healthy Spirit Program can be an effective alternative non-pharmacological intervention to help control blood pressure and improve public health. Suggestion: It is hoped that the results of this activity can serve as a reference in developing teaching materials in health education institutions, particularly regarding non-pharmacological interventions in hypertension control, as well as serve as a reference source in the development of promotive and preventive health sciences. The "Healthy Spirit Program" can be recommended for routine implementation and has the potential to become a simple, safe, and applicable strategy for improving public health.
