Abstract

This research was motivated by a preliminary study conducted at UPTD SMP Negeri 7 Gunungsitoli, which revealed that mathematics learning still employed conventional teaching models and that students' mathematical creative thinking skills were still relatively low. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the Self-Directed Learning model on students' mathematical creative thinking abilities. The research method used was quantitative with a quasi-experimental approach and a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of the study was all eighth-grade students, with two classes selected through simple random sampling: class VIII-B (23 students) as the experimental group and class VIII-A (24 students) as the control group. The research instrument was an essay test designed to assess students' mathematical creative thinking skills. The results of the one-tailed hypothesis test showed that the calculated t-value was 5.118, which was greater than the t-table value of 1.682. Therefore, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the Self-Directed Learning model has a significant effect on students' mathematical creative thinking abilities.

Abstract

Studi awal menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kemampuan matematis siswa berada pada kategori cukup; dan (2) aktivitas pembelajaran belum terintegrasi teknologi. Oleh karena itu, dikembangkan video pembelajaran berbantuan doratoon dalam pembelajaran flipped classroom untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan video pembelajaran yang valid, praktis dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE (analyze, design, development, implementation, evaluation). Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar, angket validasi ahli materi, angket validasi ahli bahasa, angket validasi ahli media, angket respon guru dan angket respon siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, video pembelajaran yang dikembangkan telah teruji dan dinyatakan valid baik dari segi validitas materi, validitas bahasa dan validitas media. Selanjutnya, video pembelajaran juga sangat praktis berdasarkan hasil angket respon guru dan angket respon siswa. Video pembelajaran yang dikembangan juga efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa terlihat dari nilai tes hasil belajar siswa. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa video pembelajaran berbantuan doratoon dalam pembelajaran flipped classroom yang dikembangkan sudah memenuhi harapan atau tujuan penelitian.

Abstract

Studi awal menunjukkan bahwa: (1) model pembelajaran didalam kelas kurang bervariasi, (2) kurangnya kemampuan berpikir Kritis siswa dan (3) Kurangnya keyakinan diri siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan (1) mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematic Education terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan (2) mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematic Education terhadap self-efficacy siswa. Kami menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Penelitian ini melibatkan siswa kelas VIII UPTD SMP Negeri 1 Mandrehe dengan mengambil dua sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu VIII-C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII-D sebagai kelas kontrol. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes dan angket. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara menghitung nilai akhir siswa, menghitung rata-rata nilai, dan menghitung simpangan baku. Setelah data dianalisis, untuk hasil tes dilakukan uji normalitas (Uji Liliefors), uji homogenitas (Uji Fisher) dan pengujian hipotesis yang digunakan adalah uji t. Sedangkan untuk hasil angket, pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji Z dua sampel. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa (1) Ada pengaruh model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematic Education terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis, (2) Ada pengaruh model pembelajaran Realistic Mathematic Education terhadap self-efficacy siswa. Model pembelajaran Realistik Mathematic Education dapat diimplikasikan bagi guru matematika untuk melaksanakan proses pembelajaran, sehingga siswa dapat lebih aktif dan mampu memahami materi dengan tepat serta menerapkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self-efficacy siswa menjadi lebih baik

Abstract

Buku paket Kurikulum Merdeka memuat kajian masalah yang membutuhkan penalaran dan interpretasi yang tinggi, namun siswa kurang mampu memecahkan permasalahannya, sehingga upaya yang dilakukan untuk meminimalisir permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan mengembangkan sebuah modul pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul pembelajaran berbasis model pembelajaran connecting, organizing, reflecting, dan extending (CORE) pada materi persamaan dan pertidaksamaan linear satu variabel yang valid, praktis, dan efektif meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar, angket validasi dan angket respon. Data kualitatif berupa komentar dan saran yang diberikan validator terhadap modul pembelajaran yang dikembangkan. Sedangkan data kuantitatif berupa hasil angket dari validator, angket respon siswa dan guru serta tes hasil belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul pembelajaran matematika berbasis CORE memenuhi kriteria sangat valid, sangat praktis, dan sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini adalah dapat menambah pemahaman mengenai pembelajaran matematika yang sederhana menggunakan model pembelajaran CORE. Temuan ini akan menambah referensi bahan ajar Kurikulum Merdeka yang sederhana dan mudah digunakan. Hasil penelitian ini terbatas pada satu materi yaitu persamaan dan pertidaksamaan linear satu variabel, sehingga perlu dilakukan pengembangan lebih lanjut dengan materi yang berbeda..

Abstract

This research is based on the results of a preliminary study conducted by the researcher at SMP Negeri 2 Lotu, which found several problems, namely (1) the low numeracy literacy skills of students, due to the lack of variation in the learning models used by teachers, and (2) the low interest in learning mathematics among students. The purpose of this study is to determine: (1) the effect of the project based learning model on students' numeracy literacy, and (2) the effect of the project based learning model on students' interest in learning mathematics. This research is a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study was all seventh-grade students, and the sample consisted of two classes: class VII-A as the experimental class and VII-B as the control class. The research instruments used were tests and questionnaires. The results of the study showed that: (1) The numeracy literacy result obtained a thitung value of 9.849 and ttabel value of 2.017, because thitung ttabel, H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted. (2) The result for students’ learning interest obtained a thitung value of 20.753 and ttabel value of 2.017, because thitung ttabel, H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted. It can be concluded that: (1) The project based learning model had a significant effect on students’numeracy literacy. This is shown by the post-test average score of the experimental group being 78 (high category), which is higher than the control group’s score of 63,56 (moderate category). (2) The project based learning model also had a significant effect on students’ interest in learning mathematics. The average score of the learning interest questionnaire in the experimental group reached 89,40 (very high category), while the control group only reached 55,78 (moderate category).

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of ability of prospective mathematics teachers in utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in mathematics learning. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is the most important thing in keeping up with current technological advances. The aim of carrying out this research is to determine the competence of prospective mathematics teachers in using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in mathematics learning. This type of research is quantitative research with a descriptive approach. This was done to test how much prospective mathematics teachers have competence in utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in mathematics learning if they already become teachers. The research instruments used were questionnaires and structured interview questions consisting of several closed and open questions. The number of respondents who participated was 48 people from the Mathematics Education Study Program. Research results: the majority of prospective students in mathematics education study programs have basic knowledge of ICT and are familiar with the types of use of ICT in mathematics learning, as well as providing positive views/opinions towards the use of Information and Communication Technology in mathematics learning. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh minimnya kemampuan calon guru matematika dalam pemanfaatan Information and Communication Technology (ICT) pada pembelajaran matematika. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) merupakan hal yang paling utama dalam mengikuti kemajuan teknologi pada saat ini. Tujuan pelaksanaan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui kompetensi calon guru matematika dalam pemanfaatan Information And Communication Technology (ICT) dalam pembelajaran matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Hal ini dilakukan untuk menguji seberapa besar calon guru matematika memiliki kompetensi dalam memanfaatkan Information and Communication Technology (ICT) dalam pembelajaran matematika jika sudah menjadi guru. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket (kuesioner) dan pertanyaan wawancara terstruktur yang terdiri dari beberapa pertanyaan bersifat tertutup dan terbuka. Jumlah responden yang berpartisipasi sebanyak 48 orang dari Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika. Hasil penelitian: sebagain besar mahasiswa/i calon guru program studi pendidikan matematika memiliki pengetahuan dasar terhadap ICT dan mengenal tentang jenis-jenis penggunaan ICT dalam pembelajaran matematika, serta memberikan pandangan/pendapat yang positif terhadap penggunaan Information and Communication Technology dalam pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

This article investigates the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) as a pedagogical strategy to cultivate critical thinking skills among junior high school students. Utilizing a qualitative research design, the study synthesizes insights from recent research and theoretical frameworks published within the last five years, employing classroom observations, interviews, document analysis, and focus groups to gather comprehensive data. The analysis highlights PBL's effectiveness in fostering critical thinking through student-centered, inquiry-based learning processes, emphasizing improvements in analytical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative communication. Key findings reveal that while PBL significantly enhances these skills, successful implementation is contingent upon addressing challenges related to teacher preparedness, time constraints, uneven student participation, and resource limitations. Strategies such as targeted professional development for teachers, structured scaffolding for students, and leveraging technology are discussed as potential solutions. The article concludes with recommendations for educators and policymakers, advocating for systemic changes to support widespread adoption of PBL and promote a shift towards more engaging, student-centered learning environments. This research contributes to the ongoing dialogue on innovative teaching practices that equip students with the essential skills needed for success in the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aims to present information and also find out about students' problem-solving skills using Problem Based Learning methods and methods conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Gunungsitoli Selatan. The design of this study used the Quasi-Experimental method with the pretest-posttest control group design method. The sample for this study was about 40 respondents, of which 20 students were in class I or experiment I. Meanwhile, 20 students were in class 2 or experiment II. From the research results obtained, the results of the t test were obtained with a calculated t value which had a value of 4,977. Meanwhile, the t table value at α is 0.05 and dk: 38 has a value of 1.6860. Thus t count has a greater value than t table, namely 4,977 ˃ 1,686). With this result, H0 is rejected and the H1 hypothesis is accepted. From these results it was found that there were significant results between students' problem solving abilities towards problem solving by applying the problem based learning learning model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi berdasarkan hasil studi pendahuluan yang  dilakukan peneliti di UPTD SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli ditemukan masalah yaitu (a) Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa masih tergolong rendah, dan (b) Model pembelajaran yang digunakan masih bersifat konvensional. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh model pembelajaran STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, And Mathematics) terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan metode eksperimen semu (quasi experimental). Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII di UPTD SMP Negeri 2 Gunungsitoli. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan teknik sampling jenuh, yaitu siswa kelas VII-A yang berjumlah 27 orang sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas VII-B yang berjumlah 27 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen. Instrumen penelitian berbentuk essay test kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan uji hipotesis satu pihak, diperoleh nilai thitung = 5,373 dan nilai ttabel = 1,675. Karena thitung > ttabel atau 5,373 > 1,675maka tolak Ho terima Ha, yang berarti “Ada pengaruh model pembelajaran STEM terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa”.
