Abstract

Purpose: This research paper aims to explore the use of mail merge to improve administrative correspondence for the Heads of RT (Neighborhood Associations) and their staff in the Pasar Lama sub-district of Banjarmasin. It identifies challenges with current handwritten methods, such as inefficiency and disorganization, highlighting the importance of this study for enhancing community administrative services.Method: The study employs a qualitative approach through training sessions developed by the PKM team from Uniska. Data collection includes pre- and post-training assessments and participant feedback, focusing on the impact of mail merge on the efficiency and accuracy of letter creation.Practical Applications: The findings suggest that implementing mail merge can significantly reduce the time spent on correspondence, ensure consistent formatting, and improve record-keeping. These enhancements can serve as a model for other regions looking to modernize administrative processes and increase efficiency.Conclusion: In conclusion, this research demonstrates the benefits of mail merge for administrative correspondence, leading to greater efficiency and organization. The results underscore the necessity of modernizing communication methods to address current challenges in local governance.

Abstract

The global logistics industry faces increasing challenges related to environmental sustainability and resource management. Sustainable logistics and reverse logistics are essential concepts that help reduce environmental impact, enhance operational efficiency, and support the circular economy. However, awareness and understanding of these concepts among emerging logistics practitioners and community members remain limited. This study presents the outcomes of an online community engagement program aimed at establishing a logistics learning community focused on sustainable and reverse logistics. The program involved collaborative activities between facilitators from Ural State University of Railway Transport, Russia, and participants representing the logistics practice community. Learning outcomes were measured through pre- and post-tests, showing a significant improvement in the average score from 41.1 to 87.4, demonstrating the program’s success in building practical knowledge and application of sustainable logistics. To enhance the real-world application of knowledge, the program integrated small-group discussions where participants collaboratively worked on local case studies to apply the principles learned. This initiative offers valuable insights for designing future cross-border educational outreach and international academic collaboration using digital platforms.

Abstract

Pengrajin kapal di galangan Desa Weru, Lamongan memiliki risiko pekerjaan dengan berbagai macam kemungkinan kecelakaan kerja. Salah satu cara yang bisa dilakukan oleh pengrajin untuk meindungi dirinya dari potensi bahaya tersebtu Adalah dengan memakai Alat Pelindung Diri (APD). Tujuan pengabdian Masyarakat ini Adalah memaksimalkan pemahaman pengrajin terkait urgensi penggunaan APD. Lokasi penelitian berada di galangan kapal tradisional Desa Weru, Kecamatan Paciran, Kabupaten Lamongan, Jawa Timur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis proses serta dampak dari kegiatan penyuluhan yang berfokus pada peningkatan produktivitas dan strategi pemasaran tepat guna bagi nelayan di Desa Weru, Lamongan. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif melalui kombinasi observasi, wawancara, kuesioner. Hasil post test menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan hingga 90% peserta mampu menjelaskan manfaat APD dan risiko yang dapat timbul bila alat tersebut tidak digunakan. Rekomedasi APD yang perlu mereka gunakan yaitu helm, sarung tangan, masker, kacamata maupun sepatu keselamatan. Setelah tingkat kesadaran pekerja terhadap pentingnya penggunaan APD mulai meningkat, tantangan berikutnya yang dihadapi adalah rasa ketidaknyamanan dalam mengenakan APD selama bekerja. Sehingga, diperlukan proses penyesuaian secara bertahap disertai dengan pendekatan yang berkesinambungan agar para pengrajin dapat beradaptasi dengan kebiasaan baru dalam bekerja menggunakan APD secara lengkap
