Abstract

Poverty is a state of being unable to meet fundamental necessities. This study seeks to examine districts that are classified as disadvantaged areas based on the classen typology and analyse the factors that impact the extent of poverty in these regions. The classen typology employs secondary data consisting of the rate of economic growth and per capita income. This dataset includes information on 154 districts in Sumatra from 2015 to 2022. It examines the elements that contribute to poverty, such as RLS data, GRDP per capita, TPT, and poverty levels in 46 districts classified as undeveloped according to the classen typology during the same period. The research use classen typology and panel data regression as analytical techniques. According to the classen typology, the results indicate that there are 46 districts classified as relatively underdeveloped areas. The implementation of TPT has a beneficial impact on alleviating poverty in impoverished regions on the island of Sumatra. Conversely, GRDP per capita and RLS exhibit a detrimental impact. The combination of these three elements together impacts poverty.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of human capital, physical capital, and labor force participation rate on economic growth in Lampung Province during the research period of 2017–2022. This research used panel data analysis with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Economic growth is used as the dependent variable, while human capital, physical capital, and labor force participation rate are used as independent variables. Based on the results, human capital and physical capital have a positive and significant effect on economic growth in Lampung Province. Meanwhile, the Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) shows a positive but insignificant effect on economic growth in Lampung Province. These results indicate that an increase in human capital and physical capital leads to an increase in economic growth. However, the labor force participation rate has not been able to influence the increase in economic growth in Lampung Province.

Abstract

This study analyzes the economic impact of agriculture on Sumatra's regional growth from 2018 to 2022, employing quantitative descriptive methods and data from the Provincial Central Statistics Agency (BPS). By utilizing Location Quotient (LQ), Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ), and Shift Share (SS) analyses, the research identifies key agricultural sectors contributing to economic development. Results reveal that plantation crops, forestry, fisheries, and agricultural services are significant contributors, with Riau Province showing the highest relative contribution. Cluster analysis categorizes sectors into four groups, with plantation crops and agricultural services in the second cluster. Sumatera Utara and Riau demonstrate stable economic growth. The study suggests enhancing productivity, expanding export markets, and improving infrastructure and innovation for less significant sectors. Future research should explore non-basis sectors and successful case studies to provide deeper insights into sectoral performance and economic impact.

Abstract

Abstract

A decrease in a country's export prices and foreign exchange reserves is symptomatic of exchange rate market pressures, which would be described as an oversupply or disequilibrium in the money market. The method used in this study is the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to investigate Exchange Market Pressure (EMP) in Indonesia. This study utilizes secondary data obtained from Statistics Indonesia and Bank Indonesia (BI) website since 2008Q1-2021Q4. The findings of this study demonstrate a strong positive long-term relationship between domestic credit growth and the BI rate, a large negative long-term relationship between GDP growth and the BI rate, and no significant relationship between the current account balance and the exchange rate.
