Abstract

This study aims to analyze the structure and germination of pollen in porang. Pollen structure and germination were observed microscopically. Pollen germination observations were carried out three days before anthesis (M-3), two days before anthesis (M-2), one day before anthesis (M-1), anthesis (M) to four days after anthesis (M+4). Pollen in porang has a dimorphic structure (X and Y structures: monad and compound units). Structure X with axis length (P)= 30-50 µm, equatorial diameter (E)= 16.67-41.67 µm, and index P/E= 1.19-1.79, while structure Y with P= 50-84 µm, E= 34-67 µm, and P/E index= 1.25-1.40. Porang pollen was subspheroidal and prolate in shape; the length of the axes of the media and magna types; monocolpate aperture type. The highest viability of the X structure was at M (31.58%), while the Y structure was at M+1 (21.76%). M+3 viability begins to decline, so porang artificial pollination is appropriate when pollen viability is high (M or not more than M+3).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pemberian ekstrak tomat dan BAP terhadap respon pertumbuhan in vitro epikotil jeruk siam Pontianak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Faktorial dengan dua faktor. Faktor pertama, konsentrasi ekstrak tomat (T) dengan taraf perlakuan, T0: kontrol, T1: 5%, T2: 10%, T3: 15%. Faktor kedua, konsentrasi BAP (B) dengan taraf perlakuan, B0: 0 mg/l, B1: 0,5 mg/l, B2: 1 mg/l, B3: 1,5 mg/l. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi ekstrak tomat dan BAP pada semua perlakuan mampu merangsang elongasi dengan persentase 100%. Perlakuan 15% ekstrak tomat + 0,5 mg/l BAP di hari ke-40 menghasilkan tunas. Perlakuan 5% ekstrak tomat + 0,5 mg/l BAP dan 10% ekstrak tomat + 0,5 mg/l BAP di hari ke-50 membentuk kalus. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian perlakuan ekstrak tomat dan BAP mampu menginduksi elongasi, tunas, dan kalus pada epikotil jeruk siam.

Abstract

Sengkubang Village is a mangrove area located in Mempawah Hilir District, Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan. Sengkubang Village already has a Coastal Community Group that cares about the preservation of mangroves. However, community empowerment still needs to cover women's communities. Most women in Sengkubang Village work as housewives or help their husbands with the gardens. The implementation of community service focuses on empowering the women of Sengkubang Village by providing skills based on natural wealth and plantation products around their residences. Through this skills training, it is hoped that women will be able to fill their spare time by producing banana flour and brownies made from banana flour which are of the sale value. The method of implementing PKM is through short skills training, and participants can bring home their work. The evaluation of PKM activities was carried out using the questionnaire method at the end of the training. The training results showed the enthusiasm of the women's group from the Pelesir community in making banana flour and brownies made from banana flour. 100% of participants strongly agreed that the theme and training could develop their potential to increase their income and daily activities. Subsequent developments will include product marketing assistance through social media and e-commerce.

Abstract

Pangari activity is a mutual cooperation activity in farming carried out by the Dayak people in West Kalimantan. However, there is no scientific information that examines the use of plants in pangari activities by the Dayak Ribun people in Suka Gerundi Village, Parindu District, Sanggau Regency. Therefore, this research was carried out with the aim of finding out how the pangari activities were carried out by the Dayak Ribun people, identifying the types of plants, the proportions of plant organ parts, and the benefits of the forms of the types and plant organs used. This research was conducted for 6 months, from March to September 2022. The method used in this study was the snowball sampling method with 15 respondents. The results showed that the pangari activities carried out took place at the time of planting and harvesting rice. 58 species from 32 plant families were used. The highest Citation Frequency value is rice (Oryza sativa L.) at 100%. The most commonly found plant families are Arecaceae, Moraceae, Poaceae, and Zingiberaceae. The percentage of plant parts that are widely used are leaves (31%). Forms of utilization of plants, namely, as building materials, crafts, medicines and food. The highest Informant Agreement Ratio (IAR) value is a form of utilization as food with a value of 0.8156.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru SMA di Kota Pontianak dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran Biologi melalui pelatiahan budidaya anggrek. Kegiatan pengabdian ini terdiri dari penyampaian teori, pendampingan, praktek budidaya anggrek, dan evaluasi. Peserta pada pelatihan ini memperoleh pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang budidaya anggrek, baik berupa teori pentingnya budidaya anggrek, biologi anggrek dan tahapan budidaya anggrek maupun praktek langsung Aklimatisasi, repotting dan persilangan anggrek. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa peserta sangat setuju (95.83%) dengan diadakannya pelatihan budidaya anggrek ini dan sangat setuju (79.17%) memahami tahapan dalam budidaya anggrek. Pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang telah diperoleh dari kegiatan budidaya anggrek ini dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif teori dan praktek dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran Biologi kepada siswa di sekolah.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menentukan viabilitas biji dan pertumbuhan porang dari beberapa variasi bagian tongkol. Studi ini menggunakan Desain Acak Lengkap. Ulangan dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali dengan tiga perlakuan (bagian tongkol: ujung, tengah dan pangkal). Persentase biji bertunas menentukan viabilitas biji. Parameter pertumbuhan yang diukur adalah tinggi tanaman, penampang tangkai daun, penampang tajuk, ketebalan, penampang, dan bobot umbi. Variasi biji dari bagian tongkol buah tidak berpengaruh pada viabilitas biji porang, tetapi berpengaruh pada ukuran tinggi tanaman, penampang tangkai daun, penampang tajuk, ketebalan umbi, penampang umbi, dan bobot umbi. Biji dari bagian tengah dan pangkal menghasilkan parameter pertumbuhan yang terbaik daripada ujung, terutama pada umbi yang dipanen. Umbi yang paling berat adalah 1,79±1,15 g (dari biji bagian pangkal), kemudian 1,72±1,08 g (tengah), dan 1,09±0,77 g (ujung). Biji yang terbaik untuk digunakan sebagai sumber benih yaitu biji yang diambil dari bagian tengah dan pangkal.

Abstract

Amaranthus tricolor L. variety Early Splendor known as red spinach is a plant with striking pink leaves that is used as an ornamental plant. This spinach has a high nutritional content, so cultivation needs to be carried out. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth response of the red spinach variety Early Splendor from several media variations. A completely randomized design with three treatments, namely variations in growing media (soil + burnt litter, soil + burnt husk, and soil + cocopeat) was used in this study. Each treatment included three repetitions. The various growing media had no significant effect on growth speed and maximum growth potential but had a significant effect on plant height, number, and length of leaves. The best planting media in producing the growth of red spinach plants of the Early Splendor variety were soil + burnt litter and soil + burnt husk, while the soil + cocopeat media produced the lowest growth.

Abstract

Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk peningkatan wawasan dan keterampilan mahasiswa Jurusan Biologi Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Tanjungpura dalam mendukung perkuliahan Orchidologi. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari persiapan (perencanaan), pelaksanaan (penyampaian materi dan juga praktek dalam persilangan dan penanaman anggrek) serta evaluasi (pengisian kuesioner). Peserta pada pelatihan ini mendapatkan wawasan dan keterampilan mengenai persilangan dan penanaman anggrek melalui penyampaian materi dan praktek. Berdasarkan evaluasi dengan kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa merasa sangat puas (92,31%) telah mengikuti pelatihan ini. Peserta juga memahami teori dan dapat mempraktekkan langsung dalam persilangan dan penanaman anggrek (84,62%). Pelatihan ini meningkatkan wawasan dan keterampilan dalam persilangan dan penanaman anggrek yang mendukung perkuliahan Orchidologi terutama pada materi budidaya anggrek. Wawasan dan keterampilan yang diperoleh diharapkan dapat dijadikan bekal dalam budidaya anggrek sebagai upaya melestarikan tanaman anggrek maupun untuk tujuan bisnis.

Abstract

Jamur tiram merupakan produk pertanian yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan, sebab peluang pasarnya sangat menjanjikan. Pengetahuan tentang budidaya jamur tiram perlu dipelajari, terutama bagi siswa sekolah kejuruan. Oleh karena itu, tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa SMK Negeri 1 Rasau Jaya Kubu Raya dalam budidaya jamur tiram. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan (penyampaian teori dan praktik) dan evaluasi (pengisian kuesioner). Berdasarkan evaluasi dengan menggunakan lembar kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengenai budidaya jamur tiram bagi peserta pelatihan menjadi meningkat. Peserta belum mengetahui tentang budidaya jamur tiram (66,67%), telah mengetahui namun belum pernah praktik (20%) dan telah mengetahui dan praktik (13,33%) sebelum mengikuti pelatihan, sementara peserta menjadi mengetahui (40%) dan sangat mengetahui (60%) setelah mengikuti pelatihan. Tanggapan peserta mengenai pelatihan budidaya jamur yaitu bermanfaat 26,67%), sangat bermanfaat (73,33%), dan menginspirasi (100%). Peserta berharap dapat mempraktikan budidaya jamur tiram di sekolah setelah mengikuti pelatihan ini.

Abstract

The use of plants in traditional medicine has been used out by people in the Kepulauan Riau. However, knowledge about the use of plants in traditional medicine by the Malay people in Tanjung Village, Northeast Bunguran District, Natuna Regency, has never been documented. The aim of this study is to identify the species of plants and plant parts that are used, to learn how to prepare and use medicinal plants, and to evaluate the importance of citation frequency and informant agreement elements in Tanjung village’s traditional medicine. The research was carried out by conducting semi-structured interviews, and continued with a discussion of 13 respondents who were determined by snowball sampling. The data collected includes: the plant species and families, the component used, the processing method, the usage method, and useg. Also, the informant agreement factor and the frequency of citations/mentions of each medicinal plant (%) were determined. The results showed that the people in Tanjung Village used 72 species of plants in traditional medicine. Fabaceae and Zingiberaceae are the dominant plant families reported by respondents as medicinal plants. Generally, the people in Tanjung Village use more of the leaves (46.67%) for use as medicine, the processing method is by boiling (33.3%) and the method of use is by drinking it (58.2%).
