Abstract

Public sector organizations are currently often considered by the public as less than optimal, less productive, low quality of performance, and a source of waste of funds. The purpose of the research is to find out and measure financial performance using the Value for money method at the Energy and Mineral Resources Office of East Nusa Tenggara Province in 2023. This study uses qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods (Mixed Research), with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data obtained is systematically analyzed to understand the extent to which the principle of Value for money is applied in the budget management of the electricity management program. The results of the study show that the Economic Ratio of the Electricity Management Program at the Energy and Mineral Resources Office of East Nusa Tenggara Province in 2023 is relatively economical, with a ratio achievement of 124%, which reflects economical budget management and in accordance with the principle of value for money. However, the efficiency ratio shows that most of the activities in the program are still classified as inefficient, with many activities having an efficiency achievement of 0%, indicating that the use of the budget is not optimal in producing the expected output.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance efficiency level of cooperatives in 13 Primary Credit Cooperatives of Puskopdit Timor in Kupang City from 2021 to 2023 using the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method and variable return to scale assumptions. Efficiency is achieved when the amount of input produces a greater amount of output. Inputs include the number of members, capital, assets, and expenses, while outputs are income and surplus. The analysis results show that eight credit unions were efficient during 2021-2023. Kopdit Solidaritas achieved efficiency in 2022 and 2023. Kopdit Sami Jaya, Timau Indah, and Harapan Sejahtera were only efficient in 2023. Kopdit Familia was the credit union that did not achieve efficiency during 2021-2023. Factors causing differences in efficiency levels between credit unions include: Low member participation experienced by the five credit unions that were not yet efficient; Idle capital (Kopdit Sami Jaya, Solidaritas, Familia, and Timau Indah); Non-productive assets (Kopdit Solidaritas, Familia (2021, 2022), Timau Indah (2022), and Harapan Sejahtera. High operational costs, only Kopdit Sami Jaya. The strategy for inefficient credit unions is to improve their input management by following the benchmark credit unions. Kopdit Sami Jaya, Familia, and Timau Indah refer to Kopdit Adiguna and Harmoni Jaya. Kopdit Solidaritas refers to Kopdit Adiguna. Kopdit Familia refers to Kopdit Embu Welu (2021). Kopdit Harapan Sejahtera refers to Kopdit Sesawi Mandiri and USP Kopsen Kasema.

Abstract

The main objective of this activity was to improve the financial literacy of the village community, particularly in terms of household financial planning and understanding wise investment. Field observations indicate that most residents are unfamiliar with creating a household budget, tend to be consumptive, and lack an understanding of legal and safe forms of investment. The outreach activities, which included material delivery, discussions, and simple record-keeping practices, successfully improved participants' understanding, as demonstrated by an increase in post-test scores compared to the pre-test. Furthermore, new solutions offered in this activity included the implementation of micro-savings, simple diary-based financial record-keeping, the use of village cooperatives as a means of collective investment, and an introduction to simple digital financial literacy. These findings align with various previous studies emphasizing the importance of financial literacy in family financial management. Therefore, this community service activity not only improves understanding but also provides practical strategies that communities can implement to build household economic independence and avoid the risk of fraudulent investments.

Abstract

Company value in the banking context plays a crucial role because it reflects the success and financial health of the company. This indicates the level of trust of shareholders, clients, and financial services authorities in the bank's performance and integrity. With high corporate value, banks can attract investors, maintain liquidity, and better face market challenges. This study aims to analyze the description of company size, liquidity, capital structure, profitability, and corporate value in banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. In addition, this study examines the effect of company size, liquidity, and capital structure on corporate value and profitability. This study also analyzes the effect of profitability as a mediating variable in the relationship between company size, liquidity, and capital structure on company value in banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This study is an explanatory quantitative study. The results show that, descriptively, banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange generally have large company size, relatively safe liquidity levels, varied capital structures, fairly good profitability, and varying company values according to investor perceptions. Empirically, firm size and liquidity have a positive and significant effect on firm value, while capital structure has a negative and significant effect on firm value. Profitability has been shown to have a positive and significant effect on firm value. Furthermore, firm size has a positive and significant effect on profitability, while liquidity has a negative and significant effect on profitability, and capital structure has a negative and significant effect on profitability. The mediation test results show that profitability partially mediates the relationship between company size and company value, but does not mediate the relationship between liquidity and capital structure on company value. The R-square value shows that the independent variables are able to explain 22.8% of profitability and 16.9% of company value, indicating that the explanatory power of the model is in the moderate category.
