Abstract

The coastal area of Mapur village is a conservation area that is a tourist attraction because of its uniqueness and natural beauty. This aims to increase people's income, utilize seagrapes without exploiting them, and make tourism while still paying attention to preserving the aquatic environment sustainably. This research was carried out in February 2022 in the Bintan Waters, Mapur Island, Bintan Regency, Kepulauan Riau Province. The method used in this study is mixed, including qualitative and quantitative methods. In this study, researchers explored data and information on topics or issues related to strategies for tourism development by describing qualitative and quantitative data using SWOT analysis. In selecting informants, the researchers used a purposive sampling technique with 30 respondents: a village leader, a PKK leader, the LPM, a youth organization leader, an Ecology Foundation Team, three fishermen, and 22 tourists. Results show that Mapur Village can be categorized as a water conservation area, which has now been designated as TWP (Tourism Water Park) in Bintan Timur. This village has excellent potential and is very promising as a tourism destination based on its natural resources, such as abundant sea grapes with high economic value ecological conditions. Waters and social support, beautiful beaches, and coral reefs in good condition all support the development of tourism on Mapur Island. The best strategy is to implement an aggressive approach by maximizing existing strengths and opportunities, which can be done with 4 SO strategies: cultivating sea grapes with eco-farming techniques, utilizing sea grapes and beautiful beaches to bring in tourists, and opening business opportunities for rural communities. They are building cooperation between village communities and the government, universities, and LPM and expanding promotions

Environmental and communication issues are interrelated and have a significant impact on each other. Communication plays an important role in how we understand, convey and respond to environmental issues. Remembering the risks that a disaster can cause not only in the form of property loss, but also environmental damage and loss of life. The main aim of risk communication is to increase individual or community understanding, awareness and preparation of existing risks. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of risk communication and community attitudes towards disaster mitigation in Pekanbaru City. This research is quantitative research involving 375 respondents. The results of this research show that the partial test results for the risk communication variable on disaster mitigation are sig. 0.011 < 0.05, where the risk communication variable influences disaster mitigation. In the partial test the community attitude variable does not influence disaster mitigation, this is because the partial test result on this variable is sig. 0.133 > sig.0.05. Based on the results of the simultaneous test or F test which was carried out, the influence between the independent variables simultaneously and the dependent variable was 3.292, where the value in the F test was greater than the t table test, namely 0.098. Key Words: Risk Communication, Community Attitudes, Natural Gas Burst Disaster, Pekanbaru City.

Abstract

The potential for developing marine tourism in Sikabau Beach focuses on integration with the local salted fish processing industry and the importance of synergy between the two sectors, considering that Jorong Sikabau has stunning natural beauty and maritime traditions, including salted fish processing that has been passed down from generation to generation. However, the salted fish processing industry still faces challenges, such as limited market access, lack of technical knowledge, and inadequate infrastructure. This study aims to describe the tourism picture and characteristics of salted fish processors and analyze the empowerment of salted fish processors. The method used in this study is a case study method using a qualitative approach. The selection of informants in this study was purposive. The data analysis used was qualitative, starting from data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The study results showed that the characteristics of Sikabau Beach marine tourism are mangrove forest tourism, Batu Kajang, and the estuary of Sikabau Beach. The attributes of salted fish processing businesses are that they still carry out the processing process traditionally. The empowerment carried out for salted fish processors is training in processing fish-based products and their marketing, fish packaging, and how to reproduce good processed food. The programs that have not been implemented are business strengthening and strengthening the added value of products. Therefore, there needs to be support from the government that focuses more on skills training for salted fish processors and the development of adequate infrastructure for salted fish processors
