Abstract

Bunga kecombrang adalah salah satu tanaman yang memiliki potensi untuk menghasilkan minyak atsiri. Aromabunga kecombrang sering digunakan sebagai penyedap dalam masakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmendapatkan waktu distilasi yang optimal untuk kualitas minyak atsiri bunga kecombrang dengan menggunakanmetode destilasi air. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan AcakLengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan setiap perlakuan diulang 4 kali. Perawatan waktu distilasiadalah 3, 4, 5, dan 6 jam. Data dianalisis secara statistik dengan menggunakan analysis of variance (ANOVA)dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa waktu destilasi secara signifikan mempengaruhi hasil, indeks bias, kelarutan dalam alkohol,angka ester, jumlah asam dan uji sensoris rasa dan warna. Perlakuan terbaik dalam penelitian ini adalah T3 (5jam) dengan hasil 7,04%, indeks bias 1,502, kelarutan dalam alkohol 1:1, angka ester 23,09 mg KOH/g, dan angkaasam 1,67 mg KOH/g. Hasil uji deskriptif minyak bunga kecombrang menunjukkan bahwa minyak itu berwarnakuning, bunga kecombrang beraroma dan penilaian hedonis keseluruhan disukai oleh panelis.

Abstract

Velva is a frozen dessert made from fruits which has low fat and high fiber. The purpose of this research wasto obtain the best combination of soursop and pineapple puree for quality and sensory velva produced. Thisstudy used a complete randomized design with five treatments and three replications, resulting in 15 experimentalunits. The treatment research were SN1: soursop puree and pineapple puree (90:10), SN2: soursoppuree and pineapple puree (80:20), SN3: soursop puree and pineapple puree (70:30), SN4: soursop pureeand pineapple puree (60:40), SN5: soursop puree and pineapple puree (50:50). Parameters observed in thisstudy included pH, overrun, melting time, crude fiber content, vitamin C and assessment sensory (descriptiveand hedonic). The best treatment was a treatment with soursop puree and pineapple puree (50:50) with 4,68pH, 16,73 % overrun, 10,43 minutes melting time, 4,79 % crude fiber and 18,14 mg vitamin C . The result ofthe descriptive test of the velva from the best treatment was yellow color, scented with soursop and pineapplefruit flavor, pinapple taste, textured very soft and overall acceptance the panelists like the velva produced.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to get the best treatment addition of Agrobost microorganisms as a reducingagent of pollutant from sago liquid waste with the addition of microalgae Chlorella sp. This research used aCompletely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments in this additionwas microalgae Chlorella sp. as much 800 ml/L (6.292.000 cell/ml) of sago liquid waste with some variousconcentrations of Agrobost (0% v/v, 1% v/v, 2% v/v, 3% v/v, dan 4% v/v). The data obtained were analyzedstatistically using ANOVA and DNMRT at 5 % level. The result showed that the addition of Agrobostmicroorganisms significantly affected COD, BOD, TSS, nitrate, phosphate, DO and pH of sago liquid waste.The chosen treatment from the result of this research was the P2 treatment showing the best level of reductionof COD 88,65%, BOD of 91,41%, TSS of 63,96% and the increase in the pH of 92,50%, DO of 56,51%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to get the best formulation of purple sweet potato flour and coconut flour inmaking instant noodles. This study was used a completely randomized design experiment with 5 treatmentand 3 replications that produced 15 exsperimental units. The obtained data were statistically analized usinganalysis of variance (ANOVA). If the F count is high than or equal to F table then continued with DNMRT testat the 5% level. The treatments in this research included TUK1 (wheat flour 90: purple sweet potato flour 0:coconut flour 10), TUK2 (wheat flour 85: purple sweet potato flour 5: coconut flour 10), TUK3 (wheat flour 80:purple sweet potato flour 10: coconut flour 10), TUK4 (wheat flour 75: purple sweet potato flour 15: coconutflour 10) and TUK5 (wheat flour 75: purple sweet potato flour 15: coconut flour 10). Result of analiysis ofvariance showed that the ratio of purple sweet potato flour and coconut flour significantly affected moisturecontent, protein content, acid number, intactness, rehydration time and sensory assessment. The best treatmentinstant noodles was TUK4 which had moisture content 4.25%, protein content 10.84%, acid number 1.34 mgKOH/g, intactness 94.67% and rehydration time 6.10 minutes. Descriptive sensory assessment was purplecolour, purple sweet potato flavor, slightly texture and purple sweet potato taste.

Abstract

Oil palm empty fruit bunches (OPEFB) are solid waste from the palm industry that contains linocellulose in the form of lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose. Lignin using as a binder, adhesive, filler, surfactant, polymer product, dispersant and source of ingredients. The method of isolating lignin can be done by the organosolv method. In the organosolv process, temperature is a factor that will affect the speed of the lignin dissolution reaction. This study aims to determine the physical characteristics of oil palm empty fruit bunches of PT. Tunggal Perkasa Plantations, Regency of Indragiri Hulu, Riau Province. In the study conducted effect of cooking temperature on the isolation process of OPEFB with the organosolv method using acetic acid solvents with 0.1% HCl catalyst. The experimental design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design consisting of 4 treatments  temperature of  cooking  (60°C,  85°C,  100°C  and  121°C).  L value indicates the brightness of lignin, the higher the L value means that the color of lignin is brighter. The value of Lignin at  100 ̊C was  35.14 while the value of L lignin at 121 C  was  32.245. If  ‘a’ values indicate lignin redness and  ‘b’ values indicate yellowish. The highest yield of OPEFB lignin was obtained using a temperature of 85 °C is 15.87%.

Abstract

ON SPOT is a street vendor business engaged in contemporary beverages with the main ingredients of functional food yogurt and kefir. Not long ago, ON SPOT experienced problems in the form of losing its market due to restrictions on community activities during the pandemic, so it had to change the target market from students to housewives to stay afloat. The strategy is to process yogurt and kefir into mambo ice sticks that are more easily accepted by housewives. However, it is necessary to make good business development efforts so that products are more accepted by consumers such as products that have been produced with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and have business legality to ensure product quality. The methods carried out in community counseling are in the form of training and mentoring approaches to ON SPOT, so that ON SPOT can develop business better and have business legality. Entrepreneurial devotion activities carried out, produce ON SPOT products produced with GMP standards so as to ensure products are safe to consume and have legality in the form of business licenses.

Abstract

Pengolahan air limbah secara biologis dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan simbiosis mutualisme antara mikroorganisme atau bakteri dekomposer dengan mikroalga. Penelitian ini bertujuan memperoleh perlakuan yang terbaik dari interaksi mikroalga Chlorella sp dengan bakeri dekomposer Agrobost pada peningkatan skala penelitian. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian berupa rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan mikroalga 800 ml/L limbah cair sagu dengan 5 perlakuan Agrobost (0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, dan 8% v/v). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan ANOVA dan DNMRT pada tingkat 5%. Sidik ragam menunjukkan konsentrasi Agrobost memberikan pengaruh nyata pada COD, BOD, DO dan pH. Perlakuan yang dipilih dari hasil penelitian ini adalah perlakuan P4 yaitu penambahan Agrobost 8%, menunjukkan tingkat reduksi tertinggi yang memiliki nilai COD 203,3 mg/L, BOD 122,3 mg/L, DO 5,89 mg/L dan pH 9,03.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to get the best treatment addition of microorganisms B-DECO3 as a reducing agent contamination of waste pollution palm factory with the addition of microalgae Chlorella sp. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD)with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment used against waste pollution palm factory was P0 (without addition of B-DECO3 microorganisms), P1 (addition 5ml/L of B-DECO3 microorganisms), P2 (addition 10 ml/L of B-DECO3 microorganisms), P3 (addition 15ml/L of B-DECO3 microorganisms), P4 (addition 20 ml/L of B-DECO3 microorganisms). The data obtained were analyzed statistically using Anova and DNMRT at 5 % level. The result showed that the addition of microorganism B-DECO3 had significant affect for COD, BOD, TSS, oil, and pH. The treatment chosen from the result of this research was the P4 treatment which had a value of COD (330,63 mg/L), BOD (94,53 mg/L), TSS (266,46 mg/L), Oil (2,50) and pH (8,64).

Abstract

Rubber seed oil is not currently used optimally, due to the high content of cyanide and free fatty acid. Cyanide and free fatty acid can be decrease using zeolite adsorption process and addition of noni extract. This research aims to study the effect of noni extract for cyanide and free fatty acid of rubber seed oil. Rubber seed oil was purified using the zeolite adsorption method with the addition of 10% by weight of rubber seed oil. Research method used completely randomized design which consists of 4 treatments and each treatment was repeated 4 times. The treatments of noni extract addition were 40%, 45%, 50%, and 55% of total weight of rubber seed oil. Data were statistically analyzed by using analysis of variance and continued with duncan new multiple range test at 5% level. Based on this research, the best treatment was 55% noni extract addition which had average content of cyanide 0,500 ppm, specific gravity 0,862 g/ml, and acid number 4,325 mg KOH/g.
