Abstract

This study extends the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to explain why citizens frequently abandon digital public services despite substantial government investment in e‑government platforms. It focuses on Riau Province, Indonesia, and positions User Satisfaction as a central mediator linking four UTAUT antecedents—Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, and Facilitating Conditions—to actual usage behavior. Adopting a deductive quantitative design, the research uses a stratified random survey of 240 e‑government users and analyzes the data with PLS‑SEM, supported by rigorous tests of reliability, validity, common‑method bias, and predictive relevance. The model explains 80.1% of the variance in User Satisfaction and 80.2% in User Behavior, indicating strong explanatory and predictive power. Results show that Performance Expectancy, Social Influence, and Facilitating Conditions significantly increase satisfaction, while Performance Expectancy, Facilitating Conditions, and User Satisfaction itself are key direct predictors of continued use. User Satisfaction also mediates the effects of performance expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions on behavior. Although Effort Expectancy is not statistically significant at the 5% level, it exhibits the largest effect size on satisfaction, underscoring the structural importance of ease of use. Theoretically, the study validates an under‑explored affective pathway in mandatory settings; practically, it offers a roadmap for shifting from technology‑centric to citizen‑centric digital governance.

Abstract

Serbat is a spiced beverage embedded in the daily life of the Malay community in Pontianak and is culturally understood to possess various health benefits. This study aims to describe the structural composition of serbat recipes, the community’s health-related interpretations, and their relationship to phytonutrient content through the perspectives of Ethno-Nutrition and Medical Ethnobiology. Through observations and in-depth interviews with six key informants, the study identifies that serbat consists of core ingredients—cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom—and a set of variable ingredients such as pandan leaves, sappan wood, nutmeg, star anise, anise seeds, and rosella, which reflect domestic adaptation. Emically, serbat is understood to serve four primary health functions: warming the body, sustaining stamina, alleviating leg discomfort, and providing digestive comfort. These interpretations correspond with the bioactive properties of the spices, including eugenol and cinnamaldehyde that produce warming effects, polyphenols and flavonoids that support energy metabolism, brazilin and myristicin with anti-inflammatory activity, and gastroprotective compounds found in cardamom, pandan, and anise. These findings demonstrate that serbat constitutes a biocultural product that bridges culinary tradition, sensory experience, and phytochemical mechanisms, thereby illustrating the continuity of traditional nutritional knowledge within the context of modern health practices.

Abstract

Abstract

Kubu Raya Regency in West Kalimantan is a region with a high level of disaster risk. Based on the 2022 Indonesian Disaster Risk Index (IRBI), Kubu Raya is categorized as high risk due to its geographic conditions, which are dominated by lowlands, swamps, and large rivers. Despite various mitigation programs, children's involvement in these processes remains minimal, even though they have the potential to be agents of change in their communities. This study aims to identify forms of participatory communication for children in disaster mitigation. This approach is based on the view that development communication not only conveys information but also empowers communities through active participation, including children's communities. The research used a qualitative Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, grounded in the Risk Communication Theory of Covello & Sandman. The study involved children from the Ambawang Kubu Raya Forum Anak community. They were involved in flood risk mapping activities, evacuation simulations, and the production of community-based disaster campaign media. This study concluded that participatory communication is effective in helping children identify flood hazards based on their experiences and observations. Through the Child-Friendly Participatory Geographic Information Systems approach, children not only visually mapped risks but also strengthened their spatial awareness and engagement in building community resilience. Furthermore, they articulated an ideal, healthy, safe, inclusive environment and expressed their desire to participate in mitigation actions actively. These findings demonstrate that a development communication approach that involves children directly strengthen communities' adaptive capacity in disaster-prone areas.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of system quality and information quality on user satisfaction with Academic Information Systems (AIS) in Indonesia. A quantitative approach was employed using survey data collected from 150 respondents who actively use AIS in higher education institutions. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire measured using a Likert scale. The analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics version 25, including validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that both system quality and information quality have a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction, both partially and simultaneously. System quality contributes through aspects such as ease of use, reliability, and responsiveness, while information quality is reflected in accuracy, relevance, and timeliness. Furthermore, information quality was found to have a stronger influence compared to system quality. The coefficient of determination (R²) shows that 48.3% of user satisfaction can be explained by the two independent variables. These findings highlight the importance of improving both system performance and the quality of information provided to enhance user satisfaction. This study provides practical implications for universities and system developers in optimizing academic information systems to better meet user needs and expectations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of digital money use on shaping lifestyle patterns and financial behavior among the residents of Dumai City. Employing a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected via questionnaires distributed to 77 respondents from diverse educational, occupational, and age backgrounds. The analysis was carried out within the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework, which includes perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude, and behavioral intention. The results show that the majority of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that digital money offers benefits and convenience and that it influences attitudes and intentions toward its use. These findings confirm that digital money plays a significant role in shaping the lifestyles of Dumai residents, particularly by improving transaction efficiency and altering financial behavior. Nevertheless, the adoption of digital money also requires financial awareness to avoid encouraging excessive consumerist behavior. This study is expected to provide both theoretical and practical contributions to understanding the role of digital money in shaping lifestyle patterns and financial behavior in society during the digital era.
