Abstract

A 6-month simulation of a community-based health information system in a rural area involving 500 participants (health workers, volunteers, community) demonstrated the potential for improved access to health services through technology collaboration and local participation. Active participation reached 80%, with a 20% decrease in infectious disease cases and a 35% increase in pregnant women's participation in ANC programs. The hybrid system (SMS gateway and web application) effectively overcame infrastructure limitations, although 30% of areas still experienced network constraints. Technology resistance in the elderly (15%) and interface complexity (30%) highlighted the need for inclusive design. participant feedback (85%) positive) emphasized the importance of educational and emergency features. This simulation confirmed that the success of CBHIS depends on multisectoral partnerships, continuous training, and policy adaptation. The study recommends integration of the system with government programs and long-term evaluation to ensure sustainability. The findings contribute to the literature on digital health innovations in remote areas, in line with WHO recommendations (2021) and studies on technological inclusion (Brown & Lee, 2021).

Abstract

This research evaluates community empowerment strategies in managing the National Health Insurance Program (JKN) through role-playing simulations and participatory approaches. The collaborative method involved 10 groups of students who were given patient referral scenarios (preeclampsia, child fever, stroke) to enhance their understanding of healthcare service dynamics. Simulation results show that this method effectively enhances multidisciplinary collaboration skills, such as communication between healthcare facilities and emergency decision-making. However, challenges such as the limited number of ambulances and the low public understanding of referral procedures still hinder the implementation of JKN. Post-simulation reflections recommend continuous training for health cadres and optimizing communication technology to accelerate coordination. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating community empowerment into the JKN strategy to strengthen active community participation and achieve inclusive universal health coverage.

Abstract

Optimizing referral services through a health management approach aims to increase efficiency, reduce waiting times, and improve patient satisfaction. This study used a discrete-event simulation model with three scenarios: baseline (standard protocol), optimized service coordination (telemedicine integration), and predictive analytics-based resource reallocation. Simulation results showed a 40% reduction in waiting time (from 14 days to 8.5 days) in the service coordination scenario, with an increase in referral acceptance to 85%. Resource reallocation cut waiting time by 30% (9.8 days) and achieved 78% acceptance. Telemedicine expanded access to specialist services in remote areas, while predictive analytics reduced overload at major referral hospitals. However, challenges such as the primary-secondary care capacity imbalance and limited IT infrastructure in primary healthcare facilities still hamper. Recommendations include strengthening structured telemedicine, developing algorithm-based referral criteria, increasing primary care capacity, and dynamic feedback systems. This simulation proves that a holistic health management approach-combining technology, systemic collaboration, and data-driven policies-can build an adaptive, efficient, and equitable referral system.

Abstract

The management of medical waste in primary healthcare facilities is a critical issue due to its potential impact on public health and the environment. Improper handling of medical waste can lead to the spread of infectious diseases, environmental pollution, and risks to healthcare workers and communities. However, many primary healthcare facilities, particularly in developing countries, face challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, insufficient training, and limited resources. This workshop aimed to address these gaps by using role-playing simulations to provide healthcare workers with practical knowledge and skills in managing medical waste. Participants were divided into groups to simulate scenarios involving waste segregation, storage, transportation, and coordination among stakeholders. The results highlighted the importance of proper waste classification, effective communication, and the use of technology to improve efficiency. Participants also identified key challenges, such as limited storage facilities and poor coordination, and proposed practical recommendations, including regular training, increased infrastructure, and digital tracking systems. This workshop demonstrated that structured interventions can enhance medical waste management practices, ensuring safer healthcare environments and better compliance with international standards.

Abstract

Introduction: Potable water needs to satisfy quality criteria for microbiological, chemical, and physical. Consuming water that fails to comply with established quality standards can lead to illnesses, including diarrhea. In Tangerang City, based on environment-related disease counseling data from 2024, diarrhea had the highest number of cases. The study examined the influence of DAM sanitary hygiene on the microbiological quality of refilled potable water and to map the distribution of DAM in Tangerang City in 2024. Methods: The study employed a quantitative analytic observation with a cross-sectional method and a secondary data analysis (SDA) with a geographic information system (GIS). Independent variable in this study is the assessment results of the sanitary hygiene DAM and dependent variable is the microbiological quality laboratory test result. The sample consisted of 104 DAM across Tangerang City. Data analysis utilized the Chi-square and binary logistic regression tests. Spatial analysis for thematic map creation was performed using QGIS. Results and Discussion: The results showed that 72.1% of DAM met the sanitary hygiene requirements but 63.5% still had microbiological contaminants. Statistical test results showed that the sanitary hygiene of DAM had a significant partial effect on the microbiological quality of drinking water with a p-value=0.002 (p<0.05). Conclusion: The study concluded that the sanitary hygiene of DAM affects the microbiological quality of drinking water. Other variabels outside the assessment aspects also contribute, such as a contact time of UV light or disinfection equipment, maintenance of filters, and water source quality.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami pengalaman narapidana yang sudah mengikuti terapi mindfulness yang dilakukan oleh tim pengabdian kepada masyarakat Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Negeri Malang sebagai upaya meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis mereka. Melalui pendekatan fenomenologi, penelitian ini menggali secara mendalam makna dan pengalaman subjektif dari dua narapidana yang telah mengikuti program mindfulness. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam. Analisis menggunakan analisis tematik dan triangulasi metode observasi digunakan untuk keabsahan data. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah narapidana merasa lebih baik secara psikologis pada aspek adaptasi, penerimaan diri, regulasi emosi, memiliki hubungan yang positif dan makna hidup yang lebih baik. Temuan menarik lainnya adalah terapi mindfulness ini juga mempengaruhi fungsi kognitif narapidana, meningkatkan kualitas tidur dan nafsu makan narapidana. Namun, terdapat beberapa tantangan dan hambatan dalam menerapkan mindfulness seperti banyaknya distraksi dari teman serta sulitnya menerapkannya secara sendiri. Para narapidana berharap bisa mendapatkan program terapi mindfulness lagi dan diberikan waktu khusus untuk menerapkannya.

Abstract

Keterbatasan bahan ajar yang diintegrasikan dengan SIPEJAR sebagai Learning Management System (LMS) pada matakuliah Praktikum Pengendalian Vektor dan Rodent di Departemen Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat, Fakultas, Universitas Negeri Malang dinilai masih kurang menunjang perkuliahan praktikum selama ini yang hanya digunakan sebagai pengumpulan laporan praktikum dan pelaksanaan ujian. Keterbatasan tersebut dinilai belum secara optimal menunjang proses pembelajaran mahasiswa dan kurang mempresentasikan digitalisasi serta kemajuan teknologi informasi saat ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar digital yang berbasis pada masalah kesehatan lingkungan dengan memanfaatkan SIPEJAR berupa e-modul, video penjelasan, motion grafis, infografis, audio, assessment tools serta slide presentasi. Penelitian ini diharapkan menghasilkan bahan ajar digital yang diintegrasikan di SIPEJAR untuk memudahkan dan meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Praktikum Pengendalian Vektor dan Rodent. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian (Research and Development). Teknik analisis data menggunakan presentase kelayakan bahan ajar dilihat dari validitas yang dilakukan oleh ahli media dan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar dikategorikan “sangat layak dan baik” berdasarkan presentase penilaian ahli media sebesar 80,3% (layak dan baik) dan penilaian ahli pembelajaran sebesar 82,1% (sangat layak dan baik).

Abstract

Food safety is the urgency behind testing preservatives, colorants, and sweeteners in snacks and measuring heavy metal levels in marine animals in maintaining public health and ensuring the quality of food consumed. The purpose of conducting food quality testing practicum is to determine the presence or absence of harmful additives that have an impact on health. This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative method using a reagent test kit for the substances to be tested. The results obtained were 5 food samples containing formalin and 1 beverage sample containing cyclamate. In addition to the hazardous food additives test, heavy metal content tests were also conducted on marine animals. The results showed that 6 samples contained lead and 2 food samples contained mercury. All ingredients or substances tested in this study, namely Borax, Formalin, Arsenic (As), Rodhamin B, Methyl Yellow, Saccharin, Cyclamate, Aspartame, Lead (Pb), and Mercury (Hg) are substances that are harmful to health especially if consumed in excessive amounts. Findings from the study indicate that there are still food producers who use hazardous food additives such as preservatives, dyes, and sweeteners in snacks. Abstract

Background: Indonesia's waste continues to grow and will reach 70 million tons by 2023. The e-commerce sector is a major contributor to plastic waste, with 96% of its packaging made from plastic, such as foam. Corncob and banana stem waste have the potential to be environmentally friendly alternatives for foam packaging due to their high cellulose content of 26.81% and 83.3%, respectively. Purpose: To develop biodegradable foam packaging made from corncob and banana stem waste as an environmentally friendly packaging alternative. Method: The study used a Research and Development (R&D) model using the 4D approach (define, design, develop, and disseminate). Results: Expert validation demonstrated product feasibility with an average score of 4.5 for durability, elasticity, and density, and a score of 5.0 for physical structure. Secondary packaging validation also demonstrated excellent results, with scores for attractiveness of 4.5; color contrast of 5.0; product protection of 5.0; and sturdiness of 4.5. These results indicate that biodegradable packing foam has the potential to replace conventional foam, offering characteristics that support product protection and are more environmentally friendly. In addition to its functional potential, this product also offers broad market opportunities through strategic partnerships. Conclusion: The use of biodegradable packing foam is expected to reduce plastic waste, support sustainable waste management efforts, and contribute to achieving SDG 12 on responsible consumption and production.   Keywords: Banana Stems; Biodegradable Packing Foam; Corn Cobs; Sustainable Packaging; Waste.   Background: Tumpukan sampah di Indonesia terus meningkat dan mencapai 70 juta ton pada 2023. Sektor e-commerce menjadi penyumbang besar sampah plastik, dengan 96% kemasannya berbahan plastik seperti foam. Limbah tongkol jagung dan pelepah pisang berpotensi menjadi alternatif packing foam ramah lingkungan karena kandungan selulosanya yang tinggi masing-masing 26,81% dan 83,3%. Tujuan: Untuk mengembangkan biodegradable packing foam berbahan dasar limbah tongkol jagung dan pelepah pisang sebagai alternatif kemasan yang ramah lingkungan. Metode: Penelitian dengan model Research and Development (R&D) menggunakan pendekatan 4D (define, design, develop, dan disseminate). Hasil: Validasi ahli menunjukkan kelayakan produk dengan rata-rata skor 4.5 pada aspek daya tahan, elastisitas, dan kepadatan serta skor 5.0 pada struktur fisik. Validasi kemasan sekunder juga menunjukkan hasil sangat baik dengan nilai daya tarik 4.5; kontras warna 5.0; kemampuan melindungi produk 5.0; dan kekokohan 4.5. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa biodegradable packing foam berpotensi menggantikan foam konvensional dengan karakteristik yang mendukung perlindungan barang dan lebih ramah lingkungan. Selain potensi fungsionalnya, produk ini juga memiliki peluang pasar yang luas melalui kemitraan strategis. Simpulan: Penerapan penggunaan biodegradable packing foam diharapkan dapat mengurangi sampah plastik, mendukung upaya pengelolaan sampah berkelanjutan, dan berkontribusi terhadap pencapaian SDGs poin 12 tentang konsumsi dan produksi yang bertanggung jawab.   Kata Kunci: Biodegradable Packing Foam; Kemasan Berkelanjutan; Limbah; Pelepah Pisang; Tongkol Jagung.

Abstract

Background: The problem of organic waste in landfills, particularly in Malang City, remains a serious challenge in maintaining environmental quality and public health. The volume of waste in Malang City reaches 778.38 tons per day, and it remains unprocessed. The decomposing organic waste produces leachate, which contains hazardous pollutants but also has the potential to be a source of nutrients. Purpose: To develop biophones as an effort to utilize landfill leachate and molasses as a soil rehabilitator. Method: A laboratory experiment was conducted by mixing leachate, molasses, and EM4, which were fermented for 21 days. The resulting fermentation was then tested for nutrient content in the laboratory. Results: The organic carbon (0.89%), nitrogen (0.02%), potassium (0.10%), and pH (5.1) content did not meet the minimum standards for liquid organic fertilizer (POC), but they had considerable potential as soil amendments. The content of microelements, such as manganese (24 ppm), showed a contribution to soil quality. Conclusion: Biofon has the potential to improve soil chemical properties, particularly pH. Further development is recommended, including the addition of carbon-, nitrogen-, and phosphorus-rich materials, as well as application testing on various soil types to ensure its effectiveness and safety.   Keywords: Biofon; Final Disposal Site; Leachate; Molasses; Soil Rehabilitation.   Pendahuluan: Permasalahan sampah organik di Tempat Pembuangan Sampah (TPS), khususnya di Kota Malang masih menjadi tantangan serius dalam menjaga kualitas lingkungan dan kesehatan masyarakat. Jumlah sampah di Kota Malang mencapai 778.38 ton per hari dan tidak terolah setiap harinya. Sampah organik yang membusuk menghasilkan cairan lindi (leachate) yang mengandung bahan pencemar berbahaya, namun juga memiliki potensi sebagai sumber unsur hara.  Tujuan: Untuk mengembangkan biofon sebagai upaya pemanfaatan limbah lindi tempat pembuangan akhir (TPA) dan molase menjadi rehabilitator tanah. Metode: Penelitian eksperimen laboratorium dengan mencampurkan lindi, molase, dan EM4, difermentasi selama 21 hari. Hasil fermentasi kemudian diuji kandungan unsur haranya di laboratorium.  Hasil: Kandungan C-organik (0.89%), nitrogen (0.02%), kalium (0.10%), dan pH (5.1) belum memenuhi standar minimal pupuk organik cair (POC), namun cukup potensial sebagai pembenah tanah. Kandungan unsur mikro seperti mangan (24 ppm) menunjukkan kontribusi terhadap kualitas tanah. Simpulan: Biofon berpotensi memperbaiki sifat kimia tanah, khususnya pH. Pengembangan lanjutan disarankan dengan penambahan bahan kaya karbon, nitrogen, dan fosfor, serta uji aplikatif pada berbagai jenis tanah untuk memastikan efektivitas dan keamanannya.   Kata Kunci: Biofon; Limbah Lindi; Molase; Rehabilitator Tanah; Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA).
