Abstract

The aim of the research was to find out the effectiveness of Think-Talk-Write (TTW) strategy at the tenth grade students of SMAN Raksa Budi. However the population and sample in this research were 32 Students (X IPA1) who were collected by using a purposive sampling technique. The research used a pre-exsperimental method. The pre-exsperimental class had given the treatments by using the Think-talk-write (TTW) strategy. The result shows as follow: first, the score point pre-test showed that the average score 55.6. After given the treatments the post-test was given. The score in the post-test result showed the average score was 75.87. However the result of the paired t-test taccount 12.6 while ttable 1.695. It means that the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. In the order word, it can be announced that theThink-Talk-Write (TTW) Strategy were effective to used by students to write descriptive paragraphs. Therefore, it was significantly effective to use Think-Talk-Write (TTW) strategy to teach writing skill at the tenth grade students of SMAN Raksa Budi in academic year 2022/2023.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the mathematics learning outcomes of students in flat geometry by applying flashcard learning media in class IV at SD Negeri 2 Muara Kati Baru 1. The background of the study is the low interest in learning and student involvement in mathematics learning, which has an impact on learning outcomes that have not met the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). The method used is an experiment with two cycles of action. Each cycle includes one meeting, during which learning outcomes are measured at the end of the activity. The subjects of the study were 16 students, consisting of 8 male students and 8 female students. The instrument used was a learning outcome test. The results of the analysis showed that in cycle I, the average student score was 72 with a completion percentage of 50%, while in cycle II it increased to 85 with completion reaching 85%. Media validation by material, media, and language experts showed a validity level of 89.16% with a very valid category, while the assessment of feasibility by teachers reached 96% (very feasible). The effectiveness of the media was also confirmed through the calculation of a gain score of 0.91, which was categorised as very effective. Based on these findings, the use of flashcard media has been proven to significantly improve student learning outcomes. Further research is suggested to explore the combination of flash cards with digital media or collaborative learning methods to expand the positive impact on student learning outcomes and motivation.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the lack of meaningful learning experiences and low student enthusiasm in mathematics instruction, which led to low learning outcomes among fourth-grade students. The purpose of this study was to improve students’ mathematical understanding through the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model assisted by audiovisual media. This study employed classroom action research consisting of two cycles and involved 12 fourth-grade students at SDN 25 Lubuklinggau during the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected through mathematics achievement tests and classroom observations and analyzed descriptively. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes. Classical mastery increased from 50% in Cycle I to 91% in Cycle II, exceeding the minimum mastery criterion of 85%. These findings indicate that the CTL model supported by audiovisual media effectively promotes active student participation and helps learners connect mathematical concepts with real-life contexts. In conclusion, the CTL model assisted by audiovisual media is effective in improving elementary students’ mathematical understanding. This study implies that teachers are encouraged to implement contextual and multimedia-based learning strategies. Future research is recommended to examine the application of this model in different grade levels or subject areas.

Abstract

Background of study: Speaking is a fundamental component of communication skills for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students. Nevertheless, many learners encounter difficulties in expressing ideas fluently and coherently in oral communication. These challenges highlight the need for instructional strategies that facilitate idea generation, organization, and delivery through technology-enhanced learning environments.Aims: This study aims to examine the effect of integrating digital cognitive mapping into speaking instruction on the speaking performance of Indonesian EFL university students. Methods: A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was employed involving 44 students enrolled in an English Language Education program. The participants were divided into an experimental group (n = 22) and a control group (n = 22). The experimental group received speaking instruction supported by digital cognitive mapping tools, while the control group engaged in conventional speaking activities without cognitive or digital mapping. Students’ speaking performance was assessed using standardized speaking rubrics, and the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics.Result: The results indicated that the experimental group showed a statistically significant improvement in speaking scores from pretest to posttest, whereas the control group demonstrated only a slight and non-significant gain. In addition, the experimental group significantly outperformed the control group on the posttest. Conclusion: The study concludes that digital cognitive mapping is an effective instructional tool for enhancing EFL students’ speaking performance, particularly in planning, organizing, and delivering oral texts. These findings support the integration of technology-enhanced, learner-centered speaking activities using visual knowledge-organization tools in higher education contexts.
