Abstract

Environmental education is one of the keys to people, especially students, having an awareness of protecting the environment. This qualitative study aims to investigate the best ways for school committees to play a role and how to adopt strategic management for environmental education to be sustained over the long term. The research subjects comprised one principal, five teachers, five students, and three school committee members. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies related to the strategic planning process and the role of school committees. The findings demonstrated that schools had to adopt a strategic management approach to accomplish environmental education goals, including formulation, implementation, assessment, and control. The first four years of school focused on implementing environmental education in school. For the next four years, the focus shifts to civilizing the environment within the school's internal environment. In the third four years, the school concentrates on acculturating the external environment. The school committee plays a vital role in implementing environmental education by considering school regulations, supervising, supporting schools financially, and actively participating in the process. This research implies that this research can be a basis for further research, especially in strategic planning and school committees.

Abstract

This study examines the strategic role of school administration in achieving stakeholder satisfaction at the Indonesian School of Riyadh, an international institution serving the Indonesian diaspora in Saudi Arabia. Given the multicultural student population and the demands of maintaining Indonesian cultural identity while adhering to international educational standards, effective school administration plays a pivotal role in creating a conducive learning environment that supports holistic student development. This research employed a qualitative case study approach, utilizing semi-structured interviews with 55 participants (10 administrators, 15 teachers, 20 parents, and 10 students), focus group discussions, and comprehensive document analysis. The study found that 87% of teachers and 85% of parents reported high satisfaction with administrative communication and transparency, while 80% of students expressed positive perceptions regarding fairness in administrative policies. The findings reveal that effective administrative practices, characterized by transparent communication, equitable policy implementation, and proactive problem-solving approaches, significantly contribute to enhanced satisfaction levels among students, parents, and teachers. The study demonstrates that inclusive and collaborative leadership by the principal strengthens positive school climate, increases stakeholder engagement, and builds sustainable trust within the educational community. Furthermore, the research highlights the critical importance of implementing multicultural approaches in administrative practices to ensure cultural diversity is valued and embraced, thereby creating an inclusive educational environment. However, the study identified specific areas requiring improvement, including expanding opportunities for teacher participation in collaborative planning processes and providing more frequent and detailed updates on student academic progress to parents. These findings provide valuable insights for international schools seeking to optimize administrative practices to enhance educational quality and achieve comprehensive stakeholder satisfaction in multicultural educational contexts.

Abstract

Integration between educators’ digital competence and human resource management (HRM) is essential in the era of digital transformation and hybrid learning; however, no existing study has clearly formulated such integration. Therefore, the aim of this research is to develop a strategic framework for integrating educators’ digital competence with HRM practices within hybrid learning environments during the digital transformation era. To achieve this objective, the study employs a qualitative approach through a systematic literature review using the PRISMA method. A total of 20 peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2020 and 2025 were analyzed from major databases, including Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, Garuda, and Sinta. The findings indicate that: (1) From the perspective of digital competence, teachers, lecturers, and learners must master pedagogical, reflective, and ethical skills to ensure that technology meaningfully supports the learning process; (2) In terms of HRM transformation, institutions need to strategically utilize artificial intelligence (AI), adopt metaverse-based learning spaces, and implement performance-based incentives; (3) The recommended integration strategy emphasizes synergy among three dimensions: strong individual digital competence, strategic and adaptive HRM, and their alignment within institutional policies and practices.

Abstract

Work-life balance has emerged as a critical concern in contemporary organizational management, particularly as Millennial and Generation Z employees increasingly constitute the dominant workforce demographic globally. Despite widespread recognition of work-life balance, younger workers continue struggling to achieve balance amid economic pressures, digital connectivity demands, and evolving workplace expectations. This research examines work-life balance dynamics among Millennial and Generation Z employees, investigating relationships between organizational support, work-life balance, and multiple performance outcomes, while exploring generational differences in these relationships and identifying specific challenges, strategies, and organizational factors influencing balance. This study employed a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design combining quantitative surveys and qualitative semi-structured interviews. The quantitative phase collected data from 478 employees (289 Millennials, 189 Generation Z) across five Indonesian cities using validated instruments measuring work-life balance, organizational support, job performance, satisfaction, and well-being. Structural equation modeling analyzed relationships and tested mediation effects, while multigroup analysis compared generational differences. The qualitative phase involved 32 in-depth interviews exploring lived experiences, challenges, and coping strategies, analyzed through thematic analysis using NVivo software. Organizational support significantly predicted work-life balance (β=0.61, p<0.001), which positively influenced task performance, contextual performance, job satisfaction, and well-being. Job satisfaction partially mediates work-life balance effects on performance outcomes. Generational differences emerged, with work-life balance more strongly predicting task performance (β=0.38 vs. β=0.22, p=0.032) and well-being (β=0.51 vs. β=0.36, p=0.041) for Generation Z compared to Millennials. Qualitative findings identified five major challenges: excessive workload, digital connectivity demands, financial pressures, organizational inflexibility, and career advancement tensions. Participants employed boundary management, technology limitations, prioritization skills, and social support mobilization as coping strategies. Work-life balance critically shapes performance outcomes among younger employees, with generational distinctiveness requiring nuanced organizational approaches. Organizations must move beyond symbolic policies to authentic cultural transformation supporting work-life balance, particularly addressing Generation Z's heightened needs while maintaining strong organizational support structures benefiting all employees.

Abstract

Teacher performance is a critical element in improving the quality of education. This study analyzes the direct and indirect effects of transformational leadership and work motivation on teacher performance, with work discipline as a mediating variable. The research employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design. The population consisted of all teachers in State Elementary Schools of Gapura District, Sumenep Regency, with a sample of 114 teachers selected through proportionate random sampling. Data were collected using closed questionnaires and analyzed using variance-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The results show that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (β=0.424), work motivation has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (β=0.271), and work discipline significantly mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and teacher performance (β=0.211). However, work discipline does not mediate the relationship between work motivation and teacher performance. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of transformational leadership in improving teacher discipline and performance. Recommendations include the need for transformational leadership development programs for school principals and the strengthening of motivation systems based on recognition and teacher career development.
