Abstract

This study aims to compare the level of consumptive behavior among Generation Z users of the Shopee application in Surakarta City based on their status as students, university students, and young workers. The rapid growth of the e-commerce, accompanied by the convenience of digital features scuh as free shipping, flash sales, product reviews, and digital payment systems, has driven changes in Generation’s consumption patterns. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique involving 102 respondents, consisting of 34 high school, 34 university students, and 34 young workers. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and interviews, then analyzed using descriptive statistics with assistance of SPSS version 25. The results indicate differences in the level of consumptive behavior among the groups, where university students exhibit the highest average level of consumptive behavior, followed by young workers, while high school students show the lowest level. These differences are influenced by income level, lifestyle, and social environmental factors such as peer influence and social media. Furthermore, Shopee features that most influence purchasing decisions are product reviews and ratings, free shipping, and flash sales, while Shopee Live and PayLater show a more limited influence. Comparatively, this study demonstrates that generations Z’s consumptive behavior develops in line with changes in socio-economic status and the intensity of e-commerce platform usage.

Abstract

Women play a strategic role in Indonesia’s agricultural sector; however, their contribution to productivity and economic development remains constrained by limited access to land, capital, information, and technology. Advances in digital technology offer significant opportunities to improve production efficiency, expand market access, and strengthen the economic empowerment of women farmers. Nevertheless, empirical and conceptual studies that specifically examine the adoption of digital technology by women farmers in Indonesia are still limited and fragmented. This study aims to comprehensively review the types of digital technologies adopted by women farmers in Indonesia, the factors influencing such adoption, and its impacts on productivity, income, and welfare. The study employs a qualitative approach through a systematic literature review of 70 reputable scientific articles published between 2011 and 2023, analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that the use of mobile phones, digital extension services, e-commerce platforms, and smart agricultural technologies contributes positively to reducing information asymmetry, improving production efficiency, expanding market access, and strengthening the role of women farmers in decision-making. However, the adoption of digital technology remains constrained by low digital literacy, limited infrastructure, restricted access to capital, and gender-based social norms. The implications of this review underscore the importance of gender-responsive digital inclusion policies to promote rural economic growth, food security, and sustainable agricultural development.

Abstract

Foreign investment, exports, and government spending are some of the variables closely related to a country's development. This study aims to look at the relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI), export values, and government spending on economic growth in ASEAN-5 countries. These countries include Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore. The research method uses a quantitative approach with panel data analysis. The type of data is secondary data from the World Bank database from 2005 to 2017. The data is then tested through the Breusch and Pagan tests and the Hausman test. Finally, the data were analyzed using panel data regression analysis. The study result shows that FDI and exports have a positive but not significant effect on economic growth in ASEAN-5 countries. Meanwhile, the government expenditure variable has a positive and significant influence on the economic growth of ASEAN-5 countries. These results can also be used as a basis for policymakers on the volume of economic growth, especially in encouraging the quality of human resources to boost export value in ASEAN-5 countries. Keywords: ASEAN-5; Economic growth; Exports; FDI; Government spending

Abstract

The phenomenon of the entry of women into the world of work indicates the development of the function and role of women in the family and society. Not only as mothers and wives, now women are starting to take on the duties of a worker. Women's participation in the labor market can be seen through the labor force participation rate indicator or LFPR. LFPR can show the percentage of the female workforce among several residents of an area in a certain period. This study aims to explain women's LFPR, especially those in the former Bojonegoro Residency area in the 2016-2020 period. The method used is a quantitative descriptive method. The data used is secondary data from BPS and related publications in several editions. The results showed that the LFPR of women in the former Bojonegoro Residency area increased from year to year, from 2016-2020. In 2016, the LFPR of women in the former Bojonegoro Residency area was 33.54% and increased to 38.6% in 2020. This increase proves an increase in women's participation in the job market, especially in the former Bojonegoro Residency area.

Abstract

Abstract The agricultural sector plays a strategic role in supporting food security and sustainable economic development. However, this sector faces serious challenges in labor regeneration due to the low interest of younger generations in participating. The decline in youth involvement has the potential to threaten the sustainability of food production as well as the economic stability of rural areas. Although the issue of farmer regeneration has been widely discussed, in-depth studies examining youth perceptions of the agricultural sector at the local level remain relatively limited. This study aims to analyze youth perceptions of the agricultural sector in Karanganyar Regency and to examine the role of stakeholders in supporting the regeneration of the agricultural workforce. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, using in-depth interviews with ten young people from both farming and non-farming families. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques with source triangulation. The findings indicate that negative perceptions—such as the view that agriculture is synonymous with physically demanding work, high risk, and limited economic prospects—are the main factors contributing to low youth interest. However, the adoption of modern agricultural technologies, agribusiness-based education, and policy support have been shown to increase the attractiveness of the sector to younger generations. These findings highlight the importance of policies oriented toward agricultural modernization, the strengthening of technology-based education, and the renewal of the agricultural sector’s image to accelerate the regeneration of young farmers.
