Abstract

Introduction: This study examines whether job boredom, cyberloafing, and perceived organizational justice are associated with in-role performance among Generation Y (Millennial) employees in Indonesia’s logistics sector and whether organizational commitment mediates these relationships. Novelty: Prior Indonesian logistics studies have largely focused on younger cohorts and have rarely tested boredom, cyberloafing, and fairness simultaneously. This study tests the commitment-based mediation mechanism in a large multi-firm sample and evaluates competing interpretations of cyberloafing (withdrawal vs. short recovery). Methods: A cross-sectional survey was administered at the end of 2024 to non-managerial Generation Y employees (born 1981–1996) in eight logistics companies in Jakarta (n = 623). Measures used 5-point scales. Structural equation modeling (AMOS 23) was used to test direct and indirect effects. Results: Job boredom was negatively associated with organizational commitment and performance. Perceived organizational justice was positively associated with organizational commitment and showed a positive indirect association with performance through commitment. Cyberloafing (measured as frequency of non-work online activity at work) was not significantly associated with commitment or performance in the tested model. Organizational commitment was positively associated with performance and mediated the boredom–performance and justice–performance relationships. Conclusion: The results suggest that, in this setting, commitment is a more reliable pathway linking workplace experience to performance than cyberloafing. Practical implications should be interpreted cautiously given the cross-sectional and self-reported design.

Abstract

Objective – This research aims to analyse effect of organizational culture, compensation and personality traits on employee performance in Tangerang private university using innovative work behaviour as intervening variables. Design/methodology/approach – This research uses quantitative approach with the unit of analysis 306 lecturer working in 11 private universities in Tangerang. Cross-sectional and one-shot data collection was carried out through distribution of google form questionnaires. The proposed model includes 10 hypotheses tested using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Findings – Majority of respondents are male, aged < 30 year, master degree, married, average monthly income > IDR 5-10 million, work experience > 1-5 year, and expert assistant. The result shows that compensation, personality traits and innovative work behaviour has positive and significant effect on employee performance, but organizational culture does not have an effect on employee performance. Innovative work behaviour shows a full mediation effect of organizational culture on employee performance.  Theoretical Implications – This research could enrich the body of knowledge about organizational culture, compensation, personality traits, innovative work behaviour and employee performance. Unlike the results of previous studies, this study shows that organizational culture has no effect on employee performance of private university lectures. Managerial Implications – Improvement of employee performance could be improved through 1) University leaders explain in detail about vision and mission of the university, 2) Maintaining fair compensation based on work performance, 3) Lectures keep high motivation to give best effort, 4) Maintaining innovative work behaviour to find new teaching and research methods.  Originality/value – Research about effect of organizational culture, compensation and personality traits on employee performance mediated by innovative work behaviour in private university are still very limited.

Abstract

Change management has emerged as a critical factor in enhancing organizational performance in today’s rapidly evolving business environment. Although extensive research has examined this relationship, existing literature remains fragmented across disciplines, lacking a cohesive understanding of its intellectual structure and thematic evolution. This study employs a bibliometric review of recent Scopus-indexed publications to systematically analyze trends, influential authors and institutions, key research themes, and collaboration patterns in the field. Using PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews) method, the review aims to uncover how change management practices—particularly those involving digital transformation, agile strategies, and leadership engagement—are associated with performance outcomes. The analysis is expected to reveal dominant research clusters, evolving keywords, and increasing scholarly attention to technology-driven and human-centered change approaches. By synthesizing a decade of research, this study contributes to the academic literature by offering a structured overview of the field’s development and highlighting gaps for future investigation. It also provides practical insights for organizations seeking to implement effective change initiatives aligned with strategic performance goals. The findings will support scholars in identifying future research directions and assist practitioners in applying evidence-based change management strategies across diverse organizational contexts.

Abstract

This study investigates the dynamic relationship between strategic leadership and organizational performance through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 22 peer-reviewed articles published between 2015 and 2025. It highlights how strategic leadership influences organizational outcomes through mediating factors such as innovation capability, identity framing, digital readiness, emotional intelligence, and perceived organizational support. Using the PRISMA protocol and Scopus-indexed sources, the review combines bibliometric mapping and thematic synthesis to reveal conceptual linkages, thematic clusters, and methodological gaps in the existing literature. Findings suggest that strategic leadership plays a pivotal role not only in setting organizational direction and driving innovation intensity but also in cultivating adaptive, inclusive cultures amid uncertainty. The study culminates in an integrative conceptual framework that redefines strategic leadership as a multidimensional catalyst for sustainable performance, offering a consolidated theoretical foundation and actionable guidance for scholars and practitioners navigating the VUCA business landscape.

Abstract

This study systematically investigates the influence of organizational culture, leadership style, and organizational communication on organizational performance using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. These three dimensions are widely acknowledged as crucial for effectiveness and productivity. Organizational culture establishes shared values and norms that guide behavior and collaboration, while organizational communication connects structures, processes, and individuals, enabling coordination. Leadership style reflects how leaders inspire and direct subordinates toward common goals. The findings show that a strong, adaptive organizational culture, transformational leadership, and open, participatory communication are positively associated with enhanced organizational performance. The integration of these variables generates synergy in decision-making, employee engagement, and achievement of strategic objectives. Transformational leadership fosters innovation and motivation, whereas culture and communication provide the foundation for collaboration, cohesion, and sustainable outcomes. Methodologically, the study applies to a structured SLR combining bibliometric mapping and in-depth content analysis. Seventy peer-reviewed articles published between 2010 and 2024 were rigorously selected from indexed databases such as Scopus and Web of Science. The results emphasize that culture, leadership, and communication interact as reinforcing mechanisms that collectively strengthen organizational performance across diverse contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of Professional Management as a variable in mediating Strategic Planning, Readiness for Change, and Family Involvement towards Business Performance in a family property business. The analytical method used to answer this research problem is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), where the data processing uses the Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS 22) program. The number of samples in this study was 250 respondents from Senior Staff up to Top Management Level. The results of this study found that there were two hypotheses that had an unsupported influence: the Readiness for Change variable on Professional Management and the Readiness for Change variable on Business Performance through Professional Management. The remaining hypotheses indicated that Strategic Planning, Readiness for Change, and Family Involvement supported Business Performance. The Strategic Planning and Family Involvement hypothesis supported Professional Management. This study contributes both theoretically and practically by demonstrating that Professional Management plays a critical role in transforming organizational antecedents into business performance. The findings highlight a behavioral–structural gap in family firms, where readiness for change does not automatically translate into formal governance mechanisms, providing important implications for the professionalization and sustainability of family businesses.   Keywords: Strategic Planning, Readiness for Change, Family Involvement, Professional Management, Business Performance.
