Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to develop the E-Comic PELITA (Electrical Energy Changes for Children) learning media used in fourth-grade science learning at SDN 19 Pangkalpinang to meet the criteria of validity and practicality. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4D model that includes the stages of defining (defining), designing (designing), developing (developing), and disseminating (disseminating). Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, distributing questionnaires, and conducting trials on the developed media. The results showed that the E-Comic PELITA obtained a very high level of feasibility. Based on the assessment of media experts, this media obtained a validation score of 90%, while validation from material experts reached 94.1%, so it was declared very valid. In addition, the practicality aspect of the media also showed very good results, with a score of 100% in small group trials and 90.1% in large group trials. Thus, the PELITA E-Comic can be an alternative learning media that is effective, interesting, visual, and contextual in helping elementary school students understand the concept of changes in electrical energy. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) model combined with the Ecoland snakes-and-ladders game on the conceptual understanding of fifth-grade elementary school students. This study employed a quantitative, pre-experimental approach using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study involved 20 fifth-grade students. Data were collected using a written test consisting of five essay questions. The data analysis began with a normality test, which revealed that the data were not normally distributed (Sig < 0.05). Consequently, hypothesis testing was shifted to the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The test results showed an Asymp. Sig. value of 0.000 < 0.05. The conclusion of this study states that the integration of the TGT model with the Ecoland educational media has an effect on elementary school students’ understanding of the concept of ecosystem balance.

Abstract

The poor learning results in the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject, notably in the area of Plant Reproduction, served as the impetus for this research. The goal of this study was to assess the impact of the Course Review Horay (CRH) paradigm, supported by Question Card media, on the learning results of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 10 Toboali. Using a pre-experimental, one-group pretest-posttest approach, this study made use of an experimental technique. The sample comprised 28 fourth graders at SD Negeri 10 Toboali, who were chosen using a saturated sampling method. The test, which consisted of five essay questions on plant reproduction, was used to gather data. The Shapiro–Wilk test for normality and the Paired Sample t-test for hypothesis testing were used to analyze the data. The average posttest score for the students was 87.50, according to the results. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test, which indicated that the data were normally distributed, gave pretest and posttest p-values of 0.088 and 0.103, respectively, both of which were greater than 0.05. The Paired Sample t-test produced a significance value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. It implies that H0 was turned down and Ha was approved. As a result, it may be inferred that the Course Review Horay (CRH) model, which was backed by Question Card media, greatly improved the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 10 Toboali.

Abstract

This research was motivated by students' low conceptual understanding in science lessons, particularly regarding sound and its properties. This can be seen from the student grades; of the 27 fifth-grade students, 18 scored below the learning objective achievement criteria (KKTP), while only 9 students achieved scores above the KKTP. This study aims to determine the effect of the Scramble Learning Model on students' conceptual understanding of sound and its properties in grade V of state elementary school 14 toboali. The approach used was a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, specifically a nonequivalent control group design. The sample involved were fifth-grade students of state elementary school 14 toboali. Each class, both experimental and control, consisted of 27 students. Data collection was conducted through a 10-question essay test. Data analysis techniques included a normality test using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, a homogeneity test using one-way ANOVA, and a hypothesis test using the independent sample t-test. Based on the results of the normality and homogeneity tests, it can be concluded that the data are normally distributed and both variables are homogeneous. The hypothesis test results obtained a calculated t-value (12.049) > the table (2.006) and a Sig. value (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05. Therefore, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means there is a significant difference between the average posttest scores of the experimental and control classes. Therefore, it can be concluded that the scramble learning model has an effect on students' conceptual understanding of sound and its properties in fifth grade at SD Negeri 14 Toboali.
