Abstract

The transition from the ancient paradigm, where communities were only seen as objects of development, to a new approach that emphasizes community involvement and collaboration with local institutions highlights the importance of empowerment and enriching the quality of communities. This evolution towards community empowerment is paramount for positive societal development in Indonesia, necessitating active participation from the community to attain the desired objectives. This study endeavors to ascertain the correlation between working capital, social capital, and psychological capital in community empowerment programs, as well as to discern which capital plays a more substantial role in empowering the community in Karangasem village. Utilizing a quantitative method, data was collected through questionnaires from 255 community beneficiaries of the empowerment program in Karangasem Village, Sukoharjo, Central Java, Indonesia. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was employed for analysis. The research indicates that various forms of working, social, and psychological capital significantly influence community empowerment programs. Working capital emerges as the most influential, with a noteworthy 78% significance, indicating its pivotal role in program implementation. Effective management and allocation of funds are imperative for capital utilization. Social capital, particularly networks, is vital in fostering community empowerment by enhancing internal and external connections. Psychological capital, characterized by optimism, fuels community engagement and commitment to empowerment initiatives, underscoring the importance of internal motivation in program success. These findings may serve as a basis for governmental and empowerment program managers to formulate policies to enhance community welfare.

Abstract

The Solo–Yogyakarta commuter line (KRL) has become a popular mode of transport due to its speed, affordability, connectivity, freedom from traffic congestion, and environmental benefits, offering a promising solution to reduce congestion in Solo and Yogyakarta. However, it has not yet attracted the majority of commuters. This research aims to evaluate customer perceptions of service quality on the Solo-Yogyakarta Commuter Line, with a focus on the impact of facilities, memorable experiences, and entertainment on customer satisfaction and loyalty. Using the SEM PLS method, the study found that Entertainment Experience strongly influences Loyalty but not Satisfaction, as KRL users prioritize safety and reliability over leisure. Facilities improve Satisfaction but have a limited impact on Loyalty, indicating that while they are essential, they are not sufficient to build long-term commitment. Memorable Experiences positively affect both Satisfaction and Loyalty, highlighting the importance of creating emotionally engaging moments. Satisfaction alone does not drive Loyalty, emphasizing the need for more meaningful and engaging experiences. Therefore, PT KAI should focus on balancing functional efficiency with emotionally engaging features to better meet customer expectations and foster long-term loyalty.

Abstract

Papua Province has received special autonomy funds since 2001. The provision of special autonomy funds is to help improve the development and welfare of the Papuan people. In this research, the level of welfare is measured by poverty. The efficiency of special autonomy needs to be considered so that budget allocation can be right on target. This research aims to analyse the efficiency of special autonomy in Papua and its influence on poverty levels in 2018 - 2022. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Panel Data Regression Analysis are the research methods used. The variables used in this research are education function expenditure, health function expenditure, public service expenditure, average length of schooling, life expectancy, percentage of households with adequate drinking water, and efficiency value with DEA. The research results show that several districts/cities in Papua have reached the efficiency level. Furthermore, the variables of efficiency level, adequate drinking water, life expectancy, and spending on education have a negative and significant effect on the poverty level in Papua. Meanwhile, the variables average length of schooling, expenditure on health functions, and expenditure on service functions do not affect the poverty level in Papua Province. The findings in this research could help the government and researchers know the efficiency of special autonomy. Furthermore, this study will show which factors help decrease the poverty rate in Papua Province

Abstract

Halal tourism plays a pivotal role in driving economic growth, particularly in countries with significant Muslim populations. However, the absence of comprehensive and harmonized regulatory frameworks remains a critical legal gap in advancing sustainable halal tourism. This research aims to construct a model of sustainable halal tourism regulation grounded in local wisdom by conducting a comparative normative legal study between Indonesia and Uzbekistan. Employing a conceptual, legislative, and comparative approach, the study reveals several key findings. First, in Indonesia, regulatory ambiguity and inconsistency exist regarding the definition and implementation of halal tourism, resulting in fragmented policies across regions. Central government regulations remain limited, while decentralization efforts have yet to empower local governments effectively. The minimal involvement of local authorities and communities in formulating halal tourism policies represents a significant shortfall, especially when local wisdom should be at the center of sustainable tourism development. Second, in contrast, Uzbekistan has developed a more integrated approach where sustainable tourism policies emphasize environmental preservation and cultural heritage, aligning more closely with the principles of halal tourism. Uzbekistan's model demonstrates the potential for integrating local values into national tourism policies as a foundation for sustainability. Third, the findings underscore the urgency for Indonesia to harmonize its halal tourism regulatory framework by integrating local wisdom and increasing the participatory role of local communities. A culturally contextualized legal approach is essential to ensure the long-term sustainability, legitimacy, and community acceptance of halal tourism practices.

Abstract

Abstract

Economic growth is a shared goal pursued by every country across various regions worldwide, including the member nations within the APEC organization. However, APEC member countries still encounter several economic challenges to achieve optimal economic growth. First, macroeconomic issues such as regulatory barriers limit both FDI inflows and trade. Furthermore, unemployment remains an unresolved issue. Second, based on the World Bank's average estimates, most APEC countries exhibit low institutional quality. This is due to corruption, weak law enforcement, and lack of government transparency. Third, there is the issue of limited energy supply and increased carbon emissions due to non-renewable energy consumption. This research aims to determine the influence of macroeconomics, institutional quality, and renewable energy consumption on the economic growth of APEC member countries. The analysis method for this research is PVECM regression. The data used is panel data from 2005-2019. The research results show that the variables FDI, Trade, Labor, REC, and IQ have long and short-term influences on the economic growth of APEC countries. Suggestions that can be given are to improve the quality of APEC country institutions because, as seen from the average indicator estimates by the World Bank, Most APEC countries have low institutional quality. This improvement is needed to make policies more effective and efficient. Each country is also expected to increase the amount of renewable energy consumption.
