Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between reading difficulties and science and social studies (IPAS) learning outcomes, particularly in the social studies content, among fifth-grade students at public elementary schools in Manggarai Village. A quantitative approach with a correlational research design was employed. The study population consisted of fifth-grade students from public elementary schools in Manggarai Village, with a sample of 67 students. Data were collected using a reading assessment to measure reading difficulties and an achievement test to assess students' learning outcomes in the social studies content of IPAS. The findings revealed a correlation coefficient of −0.564, indicating a moderate negative relationship between reading difficulties and learning outcomes. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 31.8%, suggesting that reading difficulties accounted for 31.8% of the variance in students' learning outcomes, while the remaining 68.2% was influenced by other factors beyond the scope of this study. These findings indicate that higher levels of reading difficulties are associated with lower learning outcomes in the social studies content of IPAS. It is expected that the results of this study will assist teachers in identifying students' reading difficulties at an early stage and implementing appropriate instructional strategies to improve learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how to apply the contextual teaching and learning model in improving elementary school students' science learning outcomes. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with literature study techniques. Data collection techniques are carried out by searching for scientific articles related to research. The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model is learning that links learning material to real-world situations through direct student involvement. Based on data from 12 journal articles that have been analyzed, it can be concluded that the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model can have a positive influence on student learning outcomes in Natural Sciences subjects at high grade level.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the benefits of digital audio-visual learning media in the form of animation (canva) to improve the skills of writing narrative texts for grade V elementary school students. This research uses kuantitatif with literature study techniques. Data collection techniques are carried out by searching for scientific articles related to research. Animation media is a media that combines the senses of vision and hearing by displaying a moving image or video to increase student interest in learning. Based on data from 6 journal articles that have been analyzed, it can be concluded that Canva-based animation media can make a positive contribution in improving students' narrative text writing skills with reason, uniqueness, visual appeal, better understanding, creativity and exploration.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the use of image media in improving student learning outcomes, especially in mathematics subjects. This research uses a literature review type of research with the review model chosen being a narrative review. The research design used is a qualitative research method with the data source used in the form of secondary data obtained from several accredited national journals, articles and previous research. Based on data from 10 journal articles that have been analyzed, it can be concluded that image media has a positive impact on mathematics learning in elementary schools, which is shows by an increase in students' mathematics learning outcomes in several elementary schools in Indonesia, both in low and high grades.

Abstract

This scientific work discusses numeracy literacy abilities based on logical-mathematical intelligence in elementary school students' mathematics learning. This research was motivated by a lack of understanding of numeracy literacy in Mathematics learning and differences in levels of logical-mathematical intelligence in elementary school students. Based on international studies, namely the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), Indonesia was ranked 68th out of 74 countries that participated in the program in 2009. Apart from that, in 2012, Indonesia was ranked 64th out of 65 countries. Then in 2015, Indonesia was ranked 63rd out of 72 countries that participated in the program. Most recently, in 2018, Indonesia's ranking was at level 68 out of 74 countries. This data shows that the literacy culture of students in Indonesia is still low. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the relationship between logical-mathematical intelligence and numeracy literacy in elementary school students' mathematics learning. The method used in this research is literature study, namely finding ideas and facts through library research or tracing sources of previous scientific writing. From the research results, it was found that the numeracy literacy abilities of students in elementary schools were still relatively low and there were differences between the numeracy literacy abilities of students with high and low logical-mathematical intelligence.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model on students' creative thinking abilities. The research method used is literature review. The data obtained is collected, analyzed and concluded to obtain conclusions regarding the literature study. Data collection techniques are obtained through notes and previous research, in the form of books, scientific reports, journals. The research results show that the learning model used greatly influences student development. The reason why students are less able to have creative thinking skills is because the learning model used by teachers when teaching is too monotonous so that students are bored and less motivated in learning. The proposed solution to overcome this is to use an interactive and interesting learning model, one of which is using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. Using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model makes students more motivated to learn to make projects, makes students more creative and innovative, able to solve problems, and able to increase collaboration between students.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how to improve social skills through the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model in social studies learning in elementary school. This research uses the literature study method by searching for sources such as scientific articles, journals or documents related to research problems. Based on the data of 10 journal articles analyzed, it can be concluded that the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) Cooperative Learning Model can improve social studies social skills in elementary schools in Indonesia. In its implementation, the TGT model with its advantages makes students get a better influence to improve their social skills so that students become more skilled in socializing including the ability to socialize, collaborate, cooperate, communicate, and interpersonal intelligence.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesulitan belajar matematika siswa pada materi geometri dan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang melatarbelakangi adanya kesulitan belajar pada siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif menggunakan studi literatur. Data yang diperoleh akan dikumpulkan, dianalisis kemudian disimpulkan. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh menunjukan bahwa masih terdapat kesulitan belajar matematika pada materi geometri yang dialami oleh siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar. Kesulitan tersebut meliputi: 1) abnormali persepsi visual, 2) kesulitan dalam menggunakan konsep, 3) kesulitan dalam menggunakan prinsip, 4) kesulitan dalam memahami bahasa dan simbol matematika, 5) kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita atau verbal. Faktor yang menyebabkan adanya kesulitan belajar matematika pada materi geometri yakni 1) faktor khusus, seperti kurang teliti dalam melakukan operasi hitung, rendahnya kemampuan linguistik siswa yang mengakibatkan siswa sulit untuk menginterpretasikan soal ke dalam bentuk matematika, dan siswa berpaku pada hafalan rumus, 2) Faktor internal, ketidakmampuan siswa dalam memahami materi dan kurangnya minat belajar siswa, 3) Faktor eksternal, seperti pemilihan metode dan model pembelajaran yang kurang cocok dengan materi Geometri dan kondisi ekonomi keluarga.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low social studies achievement of fourth-grade students at SDN Rawamangun 12 Pagi, which was influenced by a teaching process that remained teacher-centered, a lack of active student participation in learning activities, and the limited variety of teaching models and media used. These conditions have resulted in low student learning outcomes, where out of 32 students, only 11 students (34.38%) achieved learning mastery, while 21 students (65.62%) had not yet reached the established minimum passing score (KKTP) of 75. This study aims to improve social studies learning outcomes through the application of the “Make a Match” Cooperative Learning model, supported by acrylic puzzle media, for fourth-grade students at SDN Rawamangun 12 Pagi. This study employs the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, conducted in two cycles, comprising the stages of planning, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection. The participants in this study consisted of 32 students, comprising 16 boys and 16 girls. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and achievement tests. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the “Make a Match” Cooperative Learning model, aided by acrylic puzzle media, was able to improve students’ social studies learning outcomes. The percentage of students achieving mastery increased from 40.63% in Cycle I to 87.5% in Cycle II. Additionally, teacher activity increased from 70% to 93%, and student activity increased from 69.17% to 92%.
