Abstract

Developing knowledge about healthy and halal food can help individuals choose the type of food that suits their nutritional and health needs. However, even though knowledge on this matter has grown rapidly, there are still many challenges in applying this knowledge in everyday life. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge regarding healthy and halal food and consumption patterns. The data used in this study are secondary data obtained through the results of the questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is a nonparametric statistical test including the Chi-Square test with representation using cross tabulation. The results of this study indicate that respondents understand healthy foods as foods that are slightly processed, foods that contain little sugar, flour, and carbohydrates, and foods that predominantly contain vegetables and fruits. Furthermore, respondents understood that halal food is processed food that contains additional ingredients that have been approved by the government because there is a safe quality label and food that has received a halal certificate is listed on the label. The next result is that there is no significant relationship between knowledge of halal and healthy food and consumption patterns (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).

Abstract

In a developing country like Indonesia, the impact of climate change on food production is a challenge that must be overcome. Climate change can affect various things in agriculture, especially on the number of trees produced. The problem of this change is very crucial where changes in the number of trees affect the income of mango farmers. The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics of farmers and mango farming, analyze the impact of climate change on the number of mango trees, and identify mango farming activities that are affected by climate change and how farmers deal with them. The research sample was 60 respondents from mango farmers in 4 villages in Panyingkiran District, Majalengka Regency, West Java Province. The data analysis method used is descriptive statistics and the Chi-Square test. The results of the study showed that the characteristics of farmers in the study locations tended to be more male, productive aged 20 - 40 years, married, most of them had the latest education at the elementary level. Farming characteristics of mango farmers are based on the number of mango trees owned, the median value is 200 trees, with on-farm income ranging from 5 – 100 million rupiah per season, and has experience in mango farming for 5 – 50 years. Abstract

West Java is one of the largest potato producers in Indonesia. Margamulya Village, Pengalengan District, Bandung Regency is the center for potato commodities in West Java Province. As a potato commodity center, of course the level of potato production in this area is very high, with this high production the resulting farming income should be able to improve the welfare of the farmers. However, the fact is that income from potato farming is still unstable. There are various factors that cause this phenomenon, one of which is the existence of risk factors in farming this commodity. Based on this background, this research aims to determine the effect of risks in potato production on farming income. This research uses quantitative methods with multiple linear regression analysis tools. Respondents in the research were 65 potato farmers in Margamulya Village, Pengalengan District, Bandung Regency. The results of this research reveal that the majority of potato farmers in Margamulya have a high level of risk in terms of seed costs, fertilizer costs (Cage, NPK, Urea and KCL), pesticide costs and labor costs, while Fungicide and Herbicide costs have a low level of risk. Based on the results of the regression analysis, 15 of the 17 production factors and production risks showed a significant influence on potato farming income. Then, of these 15 factors, all production risk factors have a significant effect on potato farming income, some have a positive effect and some have a negative effect.

Abstract

One area with high potential for horticultural commodity production is Sumedang Regency. However, in this district there is a decline in Horticultural commodity production. This is allegedly due to a decline in farmer performance in carrying out farming activities and a lack of farmer empowerment. In order to empower farmers, it is important to know information regarding the distribution of agricultural land and plants cultivated in Sumedang Regency. The aim of this research is to map the distribution of horticultural agricultural areas using cluster analysis as an effective analytical tool to see the distribution of horticultural agricultural areas based on data as an effort to increase the empowerment of farmers in Sumedang Regency. This research uses a quantitative design with descriptive statistical methods and secondary data, which is analyzed using cluster analysis with the help of the IBM SPSS 25 statistical application. Based on the results of the cluster analysis obtained by 5 clusters of horticultural agricultural areas in Sumedang Regency, the five clusters are frozen in the mapping of horticultural commodity clusters based on the harvested area in each sub-district in Sumedang Regency. This mapping provides several benefits in increasing empowerment, namely community empowerment, cooperation in the supply chain, improving agricultural risk management, exchanging innovations and transferring knowledge, increasing market access and increasing efficiency.

Abstract

This study integrates the 5A framework, Attraction, Accessibility, Amenities, Accommodation, and Activities within a community-based tourism (CBT) approach to evaluate the development readiness of Hanjeli Tourism Village in Sukabumi, Indonesia. Using a mixed-methods design, data were collected from a survey of thirty tourists, field observations, and interviews with key local stakeholders. Quantitative results reveal that attractions, activities, and community-based accommodations are the village’s primary strengths, characterized by authentic agro-tourism centered on hanjeli (Coix lacryma-jobi), participatory learning experiences, and meaningful host–guest interaction. Conversely, accessibility and amenities remain critical challenges due to narrow roads, limited transportation, and insufficient visitor facilities. Qualitative findings highlight that while the village’s authenticity enhances visitor satisfaction, infrastructural constraints hinder its broader competitiveness. The integration of the 5A model with CBT principles offers a comprehensive analytical perspective that captures both tangible and intangible aspects of rural tourism development. The study contributes theoretically by extending the 5A framework to a community-driven context and practically by identifying strategies for improving infrastructure, service quality, and digital promotion. Overall, Hanjeli Tourism Village exemplifies how local participation and cultural heritage can drive sustainable rural tourism when supported by balanced infrastructural and managerial development.
