Abstract

Potatoes are a superior commodity in the Indonesian agricultural sector in supporting food security, but there has been a continuous decline in the planting area and potato harvest area in West Java over the past 8 years. The objects of this research were 500 potato farmers in West Java. These respondents were selected using a 2-stage stratified sampling technique. The data used in this research are primary and secondary data. The primary data collection tool in this research is a survey. The aim of this research is to describe the factors that influence potato farming. In the research, it was found that education, productivity, capital, and land area varied in the level of success of farming. Then, the use of varieties, fertilizers and pesticides is also related to fluctuations in farmers' potato yields. Likewise with credit and land area that has an irrigation system. Furthermore, potato farmers are able to produce 15 to 25 tons of potatoes per hectare, with a planting frequency of twice a year. The first buyers of farmers' potatoes are generally dealers (64%). Even though the farmers who sell to modern markets are still limited (13 people), the profits are higher compared to farmers who sell to traditional markets. Keywords: Potato Farming, West Java Potato Farming, Determinants INTISARIKentang merupakan komoditas sektor pertanian Indonesia yang unggul dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan namun terdapat penurunan luas areal tanam dan luas panen kentang di Jawa Barat secara terus menerus selama 8 tahun ke belakang. Objek pada  penelitian ini adalah 500 petani kentang di Jawa Barat, responden tersebut dipilih menggunakan teknik sampling stratifikasi 2 tahap. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan sekunder. Alat pengumpulan data primer pada penelitian ini adalah survey. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi usahatani ketang. Pada penelitian didapat bahwa pendidikan, produktivitas, permodalan, dan luas lahan dengan bervariasinya tingkat keberhasilan usahatani. Kemudian, penggunaan varietas, pupuk dan pestisida juga berkaitan dengan berfluktuasinya hasil kentang petani. Demikian juga halnya dengan kredit dan luas lahan yang memiliki sistem pengairan. Selanjutnya, petani kentang mampu menghasilkan kentang sebanyak 15 sampai dengan 25 ton per hektar, dengan frekuensi tanam dua kali setahun. Pembeli pertama kentang petani umumnya adalah bandar (64%). Walaupun petani yang menjual ke pasar modern masih terbatas (13 orang), tetapi keuntungannya lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan petani yang menjual ke pasar tradisional. Kata kunci: Usahatani Kentang, Pertanian Kentang Jawa Barat, Determinan

Abstract

Abstrak Agroeduwisata perpaduan antara konsep agrowisata dan edukasi. Agroeduwisata merupakan salah satu potensi ekonomi kreatif dibidang pertanian yang dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakatnya. Kampung Pasir Angling  desa Suntenjaya  memiliki  panorama  keindahan alam sehingga cocok untuk dikembangkan menjadi desa  agroeduwisata. Terdapat dua kelompok sadar wisata (Pokdawis) yang mengelola agroeduwisata di Kampung  Pasir Angling  yaitu Pokdarwis Pasir Angling dan Pokdarwis Taman Bincarung.  Namun, keberadaan  dua  Pokdarwis  malah memunculkan permasalahan  berupa kurangnya  komunikasi dan kerjasama dalam pengelolaan wisata di Kampung Pasir Angling. Berdasarkan hal tersebut tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi potensi dan kendala dalam pengembangan agroeduwisata dan menganalisa sistem tata Kelola wisata di Kampung Pasir Angling. Metode yang digunakan pada pengabdian ini adalah pemberdayaan partisipatif  dengan teknis  wawancara, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), penyuluhan  dan pendampingan yang melibatkan peran serta mitra secara aktif, pengabdian ini melibatkan Pokdarwis, karang taruna dan  kelompok usaha bersama (KUB)  kuliner. Secara umum tata kelola wisata di Kampung Pasir Angling sudah baik terlihat dengan adanya atribut wisata berupa tanda penunjuk arah, papan denah wisata, dan arah evakuasi bencana. Selain itu, Pengabdian ini berhasil mengidentifikasikan potensi dan kendala yang dihadapi Pokdarwis dalam pengelolaan agroeduwisata. Berdasarkan hasil identifikasi kendala yang dihadapi oleh dua Pokdarwis tersebut adalah komunikasi yang kurang lancar  antar pihak pengelola serta kurangnya alat bantu komunikasi. Sedangkan kendala yang dihadapi Pokdarwis Taman Bincarung adalah rendahnya partisipasi  masyarakat dalam  pengembangan  wisata  Buper Taman Bincarung karena belum jelasnya aturan dan perizinan  pengelolaan wisata  Taman Bincarung yang belum selesai. Harapannya hasil pengabdian ini dapat menjadi acuan pihak Kampung Pasir Angling dalam mengembangkan agroeduwisatanya. Kata kunci: agroeduwisata; desa wisata; kendala; pokdarwis; tata kelola Abstract Agroedu Tourism The Combination of the Concept of Agro -Tourism and Education. Agroeduism is one of the potential of the creative economy in the field of agriculture that can improve the welfare of its people. Kampung Pasir Angling Suntenjaya Village has a panoramic view of natural beauty so it is suitable to be developed into an agroedu tourism village. There are two Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdawis) that manage agroeduism in the angling sand village, namely pokdarwis sand angling and pokdarwis park bincarung. Howver, the existence of two pokdarwis actually raised problem in the form of lack of communication and cooperation in the management of tourism in Kampung Pasir Angling. Based on this, the purpose of this service is to identify the potential and obstacles in the development of agroeduism and analyze the tourism governance system in Kampung Pasir Angling. The method used in this service is participatory empowerment with interview technical, focus group discussion (FGD), counseling and assistance involving the participation of partners actively, this service involves pokdarwis, Youth Organization and Culinary Joint Business Group (CUB). In General, Tourism Governance in Kampung Pasir Angling has been like well with the presence of tourist attributes in the form of directions, tourist planning boards, and the direction of disaster evacuation. In addition, this dedication succeeded in identifying the potential and obstacles faced by pokdarwis in agroeduism management. Based on the results of the identification of the constraints faced by the two pokdarwis are substandard communication between the managers and the lack of communication aids. While the obstacles faced by Pokdarwis Taman Bincarung are the Low Participation of the Community in the Development of Taman Taman Tourism because the rules and licensing of Bincarung Park Tourism Management are not finished finished. It is hoped that the results of this service can be a reference for the angling sand village in developing its agroeduwis. Keywords: agro-education; tourism village; constraint; pokdarwis; governance

Abstract

Fermented beverages have become increasingly popular as functional products that offer health benefits, particularly in improving digestive function and enhancing body immunity. However, the successful marketing of these products largely depends on understanding consumer preferences, which may vary according to demographic characteristics, especially across different age groups. This study aims to analyze the differences in consumer preferences for five key attributes of fermented beverages—taste, price, packaging, packaging volume, and serving temperature—across four age categories: children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. The research employed a quantitative survey method involving 145 respondents. Data were analyzed using frequency distribution tables, boxplot analysis, and the Kruskal–Wallis test. The results revealed that, in general, consumers preferred sweet and sour tastes in balanced proportions, favored products priced above Rp 10,000, and tended to prefer plastic packaging, although interest in glass packaging has begun to emerge. The most preferred packaging volume was 100–250 ml, and cold serving temperature remained the dominant preference. Statistical tests showed significant differences in preferences for price, packaging, and serving temperature across age groups (p < 0.05). Children preferred lower prices, plastic packaging, and cold beverages, whereas adults and the elderly showed a stronger preference for glass packaging, larger volumes, and warmer serving temperatures. Conversely, no significant differences were found in taste and packaging volume preferences (p > 0.05).

Abstract

Horticultural agribusiness plays a strategic role in providing nutritious food and improving community income; however, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in this sector continue to face various constraints that affect business performance. This study aims to analyze the effects of internal factors, namely entrepreneurs’ personal characteristics, entrepreneurial motivation, social support, opportunity recognition and exploitation, and entrepreneurial competence on the performance of horticultural agribusinesses. A quantitative approach with a descriptive–correlational design was employed through a survey of 109 horticultural business actors in West Java, DKI Jakarta, Banten, and Central Java. Data were collected using a 1–5 Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, index-score analysis, and multiple linear regression. The descriptive results indicate that the highest average index score was found for entrepreneurs’ personal characteristics (4.121), while overall agribusiness performance was moderate (3.084), with the lowest scores observed in business volume growth and market share growth. The regression model show that entrepreneurial competence had a positive and significant effect on business performance, whereas the other internal variables were not significant. Practically, the study suggests strengthening technical and managerial competencies, implementing more applied institutional mentoring, and adopting market expansion strategies to enhance business volume and market share.

Abstract

Potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) is a strategic horticultural commodity in West Java, making micro-level empirical evidence essential to understand productivity variation at the farm level. This study aims to (1) describe the characteristics of potato farmers and potato farming in West Java; (2) describe land area, production, and potato productivity at the farmer level; and (3) analyze the effects of farmer and farm characteristics on potato productivity. The study employed a quantitative survey approach involving 210 potato farmers in West Java selected through simple random sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression (OLS). Descriptive results show an average landholding of 1.25 ha, production of 26.86 tons per cropping season, and productivity of 21.44 tons/ha; approximately 66.19% of farmers achieved productivity ≥20 tons/ha. Regression results show that age and seed use per hectare significantly and positively influence productivity, while experience and equity percentage significantly but negatively influence it. Other variables, including education, percentage of irrigated land, labor, fertilizer, pesticides, and other costs per hectare, have no significant impact. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening the management of key inputs (especially seed), improving access to productive financing, and providing technical extension support to enhance potato productivity at the farm level in West Java.
