Abstract

ABSTRACTFinding the appropriate method of fertilizer application to simultaneously enhance farm productivity and ensure ecosystem sustainability has been receiving a lot of attention. A field experiment was carried in the Research Plot Agriculture Faculty Bengkulu University Campus Indonesia in 2017. The purpose of this study was (1) to assess the significant effects of inorganic N fertilizer (IF) substitution with bio-fortified compost (BC) under equal N conditions on growth, N accumulation, and yield of sweet corn, and (2) to determine the appropriate level to which inorganic N fertilizer could be reduced and equivalently replaced by bio-fortified compost to promote sweet corn growth and yield. The treatments consisted of six different proportions of inorganic N fertilizer (IF) substitution with bio-fortified compost (BC). Each treatment was designed on the basis of equal amount of total N input from a combination of both fertilizers (138 kg N ha-1).  They were arranged in a randomized block design with 3 replications. They included (1) 100% IF plus 0% BC, (2) 75% IF plus 25% BC, (3) 50% IF plus 50% BC, (4) 25% IF plus 75%, (5) 0% IF plus 100% BC, and (6) no IF and no BC. The results showed that the increasing proportion of IF replaced by BC resulted in an increase for all variables (except for plant height) but they decreased when 100% IF substitution with 100% BC was applied. Among the partial substitution treatments, 50% IF plus 50% BC consistently produced the best growth, N accumulation, and yield increase. Treatments of 50% IF plus 50% BC and 25% IF plus 75% BC produced the highest green cob weight with husk per plot (10.74 – 10.84 kg plot-1), which was 16% to 19% higher than treatment of 100% IF plus % BC. The three partial substitution treatments produced crop yield components as good as treatment of 100% IF plus 0% BC. Treatment of 0% IF plus 100% BC reduced plant growth, N accumulation, and crop yield and its components. The appropriate level to which IF could be reduced and equivalently replaced by BC was at the range of 25% to 75%. Hence, a suitable replacement of inorganic N fertilizer with bio-fortified compost is considered a reasoned way to simultaneously increase crop yield and reduce environmental degradation.Keywords: organic fertilizer, chemical fertilizer, bio-fortification, chemical fertilizer substitution, bio-fortified compost

Abstract

biodegradable polymer such as PVA is considered the most promising candidates for developing the sustainable sticker. The objective of this study was to determine the most suitable PVA + TS blends as adhesives agent for AMF spores inoculation via seed coating which can enhance the spores viability and their beneficial properties in maize. The polythene bag experiment was performed in a screen house of the Department of Plant Protection Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bengkulu Indonesia in 2015. Six adhesive blends were employed: 100% PVA + 0% TS, 75% PVA + 25% TS, 50% PVA + 50% TS, 25% PVA + 75% TS, 0% PVA + 100% TS, and no coating. The six experimental treatments were laid out in a completely randomized design with three replications. The results show that root colonization, AMF spore population, and shoot dry weight in 75% PVA + 25% TS were equal to those in 100% PVA. Root colonization, AMF spore population, shoot P content, and shoot P concentration were greater for 50% PVA + 50% TS than 100% PVA, 100% TS, and no coating. A mixture of 50% PVA + 50% TS was considered the preferred sticker. Abstract

Salinity stress is the major abiotic stress for crop production. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of zeolite on improving soil properties, the growth, and yield of Chinese cabbage. This pot experiment was conducted from September to November 2020 at the Research and Teaching Field of the Faculty of Agriculture, consisted of 6 treatment levels, i.e. (1) control, (2) soil + 6.9 g NaCl /10 kg soil, (3) soil + 6.9 g Na2SO4 /10 kg soil, (4) soil + 3.2 g zeolite /10 kg soil, (5) soil + 6.9 g NaCl /10 kg soil + 3.2 g zeolite /10 kg soil, and (6) soil + 6.9 g Na2SO4 /10 kg soil + 3.2 g zeolite /10 kg of soil, and arranged in a completely randomized design with 3 replications. The application of zeolite decreased the EC of salinized soil and increased the soil CEC. NaCl salinity stress reduced plant height (23%), number of leaves (22%), fresh weight of roots (165%), dry weight of roots (170%), stalk length (32%), and plant dry weight (131%), while Na2SO4 salinity stress only reduced the number of leaves (23%). The addition of zeolite to salinized NaCl soil increased stalk length (39%), plant fresh weight (172%), leaf fresh weight (174%), plant dry weight (133%), and leaf dry weight (23%), while to salinized Na2SO4 soil only increased plant dry weight (90%) and leaf dry weight (177%). The overall results show that the addition of zeolite can effectively ameliorate salinity stress due to NaCl.

Abstract

A field trial was conducted to determine the efficiency of AMF inoculation for enhancing growth and yield performance of maize, root colonization, soil available P, and P uptake in Ultisols amended with different P dosages. This experiment was conducted in a 3 x 3 factorial scheme under complete randomized  design with three AMF inoculation methods and three different P levels (0, 60, and 120 kg P2O5 ha-1) in five replications. Data were collected on plant growth, yield parameters, soil available P, P uptake, and root colonization. Results showed that inoculation via seed coating at 60 kg P2O5 ha-1 gave a significant (p<0.05) increase in  growth traits (average of 25%), biomass production, grain yield (average of 30%), soil P availability, P uptake, and root colonization. Inoculation via seed coating combined with 60 produced the same values of all the tested parameters with and seed coating inoculation and soil inoculation at120 kg P2O5 ha-1. Thus, seed coating was as effective tool as soil inoculation for AMF delivery and capable of reducing 50% of P fertilizer use. For these reasons, co-application of P fertilizer and AMF inoculation via seed coating could be practiced to improve corn yields on poor Ultisols.

Abstract

Penelitian sifat kimia dan sifat fisik batang bambu merupakan salah satu upaya untuk lebih memahami karakteristik dan kualitas bambu yang tumbuh di Kota Pontianak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sifat fisik dan sifat kimia bambu Bambusa vulgaris dan Thyrsostachys siamensis yang tumbuh di Kota Pontianak. Analisis data menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial 3x2 yaitu bagian batang (pangkal,tengah dan ujung) dan jenis bambu (B.vulgaris dan T.siamensis) dengan ulangan tiga kali. Penetapan kadar holoselulosa mengacu pada metode Browning (1967), penetapan kadar ekstraktif larut alcohol-benzena mengacu pada TAPPI 204 om-88, dan penetapan kadar lignin klason mengacu pada TAPPI T 222 om-88 (TAPPI 2002b). Pengajian sifat fisik bambu mengacu pada standar ISO 13061-3 yang telah dimodifikasi. Sifat kimia Bambusa vulgaris dan Thyrsostachys siamensis bervariasi berdasarkan perbedaan posisi batang. Tidak ada interaksi yang signifikan antara bagian batang bambu dan jenis bambu terhadap sifat kimia bambu  pada selang kepercayaan 95%. Sifat fisik Bambusa vulgaris dan Thyrsostachy siamensis bervariasi berdasarkan perbedaan posisi batang bagian pangkal,tengah dan ujung. Nilai kadar air, kerapatan dan penyusutan tertinggi ada pada bagian pangkal bambu. Berdasarkan analisis statistik, kadar air, kerapatan dan penyusutan bambu memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan pada selang kepercayaan 95%

Abstract

This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Qualitative because it must conduct interviews and collect documents, after which it is described. The aim is to determine the optimization of the role of madrasah teachers in using Indonesian in learning for students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Qomariah Klego. The research took place at MI Muhammadiyah Qomariyah Klego. There are 17 teachers and 301 students. This study's primary data source was interviews covering the principal, vice principal for curriculum, religious teachers, assistant teachers, teachers, students, and parents. Data collection techniques used observation, documentation, and interviews covering the principal (one person), vice principal for curriculum (one person), religious teachers (two people), language teachers (four people), students (6 children), and parents (two people). The study results showed that the teachers gradually began to use Indonesian but still interspersed it with mixed or regional languages. They patiently taught and guided students until they could communicate well in Indonesian. The MI Muhammadiyah Qomariyah Klego teachers have carried out their learning tasks optimally.

Abstract

The role of teachers in literacy is very dominant for students. Teachers are an inseparable example. They must be able to express their thoughts in writing and reflect on their teaching experience to students. The purpose of this study is to find out the role of the author community in improving the literacy ability of Muhammadiyah Salatiga teachers. This research is qualitative descriptive. The population in this study is Muhammadiyah Salatiga teachers. This method utilizes interview, observation, and documentation techniques. This research results in Progressive Teachers who have learned writing literacy with the guidance of a mentor. In improving the quality of literacy, they were all given target results in the form of writing that had to be shared in the group and then corrected by group members and mentors. The Progressive Teacher Community has several roles for each member: active writers, corrective, sharing knowledge and references, motivating group members, and producing or publishing books. Progressive Teachers get benefits that can be felt with the writing community, namely learning together, various information, improving writing skills, motivating or supporting each other, writing anthologies or simultaneously, and relationships and friendships.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology, particularly Microsoft Excel, facilitates the management of administrative data in educational institutions. Information systems are crucial for enhancing efficiency and effectiveness. The administration at Pondok Pesantren Darul Musthofa Sangatta is conducted manually, resulting in deficiencies such as inaccurate data, difficulties in information retrieval, limitations in student data management, and inefficient operations. The student administration information system is considered a solution to address these challenges. This system facilitates the management of student administrative data for administrators. The system is developed using the waterfall methodology, encompassing phases of requirement analysis, design, coding with VBA Macro in Microsoft Excel, testing, and maintenance. This study has produced a web-based student administration information system at Pondok Pesantren Darul Musthofa Sangatta. The system streamlines the administration of student data within the institution, conserving time, effort, and resources. Furthermore, it allows students and parents/guardians to access administrative information, including monthly payments, re-registration, and remaining funds. The system has been customized to meet the specific requirements of Pondok Pesantren Darul Musthofa Sangatta

Abstract

This research aims to determine the revitalization of vocational education through edupreneurship in promoting the economic independence of vocational high school students in the era of society 5.0. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects were selected using purposive sampling techniques, with criteria for vocational high schools that have integrated the edupreneurship program into their learning processes. Data collection techniques were carried out through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The analysis process was conducted through data reduction stages, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the analysis show that vocational education, particularly in vocational high schools (SMK), plays a strategic role in producing a generation that is job-ready while also capable of creating jobs independently. However, various structural and cultural challenges such as competency mismatch, weak technology integration, and low entrepreneurial spirit remain major obstacles in achieving the economic independence of graduates. In the era of Society 5.0, which demands technological proficiency and sustainable innovation, a more adaptive and transformative educational approach is needed. In this context, edupreneurship emerges as a strategic solution to revitalize vocational education to make it more contextual, productive, and highly competitive.

Abstract

This research uses normative research methods with a statute approach, historical approach, and conceptual approach.  This research aims to find out, examine, and analyze the urgency of legal protection for persons with disabilities against authentic deeds made before a Notary and also to examine and determine the validity of notarial deeds made by persons with disabilities through alternative relevant attestation procedures. The result of this research is that the reconstruction model for the validation of an authentic deed made before a notary for a disabled person follows the provisions of Article 44 of the UUJNP, but this provision must be accompanied or accompanied by at least 2 (two) witnesses who will later make a certificate of testimony (Affidavit) before the notary that he witnessed the disabled person had made the deed before the notary concerned. In essence, the reconstruction of authentic deed attestation is needed to realize the purpose of the law it self, in the form of certainty, justice, and expediency.
