Abstract

This study aims to determine the academic fraud students committed to doing assignments during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study used a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. Data collection was done by randomly distributing Google Forms to high school students in West Java Province. There were about 540 samples that were successfully captured in this study. The data analysis technique was carried out employing descriptive statistics. The results showed that as many as 88.3% of students stated that they committed academic fraud in doing the assignments given to them by the teacher. The fraud was done by copying and pasting a friend's assignment from the internet and doing things without obligation. It was done because there was no particular action from the teacher against cheating students. Particular policies need to be made by schools; namely, the teacher instills the values of Honesty and other anti-corruption values in the learning process. Besides that, the use of technology is to determine whether there is an element of plagiarism in student assignments. Parents at home also need to instill anti-corruption values in their children from an early age so that they are familiar with these things.

By way of inclusion of culture in the curriculum, it is hoped that it can be passed on to the next generation. Then they will know at least their ancestors’ culture. It is called a conservative role. This research uses a quantitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was carried out by a questionnaire and in-depth interviews. Data were analyzed using an interactive model. This analysis technique started from data collection. Data was reduced after it had been collected. The next step was to presenting the data, verifying and drawing a conclusion. Based on the description above, this research is considered important to be carried out being an addition for existing policymakers in order to organize higher education. Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning model for slow learner students in Higher Education. Slow learners are students who have low learning achievements under the average, either in one area or in all academic areas. This type of research was research and development using the ADDIE approach (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The developed learning model was project-based learning. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and tests. Data analysis used two approaches, namely qualitative and quantitative. The results of the study showed that project-based learning due to the activity level had increased compared to before using the PBL model. The result of the coefficient of determination revealed that the value of R square (R2) was 0.064 or 6.4%. This shows that the student activity was able to influence the variation of learning outcomes by 6.4% and the remaining 93.6% was influenced by other variables outside this research model. Thus, it is necessary to have a variety of strategies used by lecturers in delivering lectures, especially in a class where slow learners exist. In addition, attention and assignments also need to be given to slow learners so that they can attend lectures and understand the material presented properly and correctly like other students. For researchers, it is necessary to conduct further studies and research for the development of various learning models that are suitable for the needs of slow learner students.

Abstract

A moon (qamar) is one of the heavens rotates the earth whose appearance changes keep pace with the sidereal and synodic movements. The movements provide significant impact on determining the first day of months in Qamariah calendar. Disagreement in determining the first day of months in Qamariah may be caused by differences in comprehending the first visible crescent moon (hilâl). The objective of the research is to provide understanding about the meanings of hilâl in the Qur’an verses and its implication in determining the first day of months in Qamariah. Thematic method in this research is used to gather the Qur’an verses containing the word “qamar” and “ahillah”, and the verses those are related to determination of the first day of months in Qamariah calendar, arrange them into chronological order and deepen the analysis using astronomical approach. The results show that hilâl is a part of phases of the moon appears in the first two or three nights and last of the month. And yet the hilâl that can be a reference in determining the first day of month is the crescent moon phase that first appears after conjuncture. The implication of hilâl meanings in determining the first day of months in qamariah makes a sign for humans to determine their times for prayers and social activities such as beginning and ending fasting of Ramadan, determining time for pilgrimage (ḥajj), determining ‘iddah period for Muslim women, purchase and sale, rental, cropping, and making arrangement or agreement.

Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to analyze interfaith communication between Muslims in Aoma and Christians in Ambesakoa, focusing on whether the in-group/out-group dichotomy acted as a barrier and identifying factors that fostered mindful communication. Employing a descriptive phenomenological approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and participant observation. Instruments included interview guides and field notes. Thematic analysis of the data revealed the following findings: Firstly, communication occurred nominally but with moderate intensity, shaped by long-term acquaintance and familial ties, and influenced by segregated living environments and individual busyness. Secondly, social interactions transcend primordial boundaries, avoiding stereotypes and prejudices, thereby promoting mindful communication. Thirdly, both communities fostered mindful interfaith communication driven by nationalism, shared family lines, and adherence to kalosara values. This study underscored the importance of inclusive education and cultural values in enhancing interfaith communication in segregated societies. It suggests that promoting deeper understanding and respect across religious divides can mitigate barriers created by in-group/out-group dynamics. By acknowledging and fostering these factors, societies can cultivate environments conducive to harmonious interfaith relations. This research contributes to the broader discourse on interfaith dialogue, highlighting practical strategies for promoting mutual respect and understanding in culturally diverse communities.
