Abstract

The research aimed to analyze the challenges faced by Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, during the COVID-19 pandemic in adopting digital tools and platforms. The research explored the difficulties encountered by MSEs in Yogyakarta during the pandemic and their efforts to utilize digital solutions, employing a qualitative methodological approach and analyzing secondary data sources. Through in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with 50 MSE owners and stakeholders, supplemented by document analysis of government policies, and existing studies, the research provided insights into the experiences, perceptions, and barriers to adopting digital innovations. Thematic coding of interview transcripts and data synthesis from secondary sources reveal recurring challenges such as financial constraints, limited Internet access, inadequate digital literacy, and insufficient technology infrastructure. Despite these obstacles, the research identifies a positive trend toward digitalization among MSEs, driven by the imperative to adapt to pandemic-induced disruptions and the growing recognition of the benefits of digital technologies. The analysis underscores the critical role of awareness-building, training, and infrastructure development in facilitating successful digital adoption. Additionally, the research highlights the necessity of government initiatives to support MSEs in overcoming the digital divide and emphasizes the importance of sector-specific strategies to address variations in digital adoption patterns. The research contributes to a nuanced understanding of digital adoption dynamics among MSEs in Yogyakarta. It suggests avenues for future research to explore the long-term impacts of digitalization on MSE sustainability and growth.

The results of participant observation shed light on microenterprises' business survival strategy and recovery plan during and after a crisis. According to the findings of this study, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic was felt the most in Gunung Kidul and Kulon Progo in the Province of Yogyakarta. Aside from being remote from the city center, access to technology is also limited. In contrast to the more advanced cities of Yogyakarta, Bantul, and Sleman. Our research has suggested that micro-enterprise owners and other stakeholders reconsider their business strategies, including crisis scenarios and business continuity plans to virtually sustain customers in order to improve long-term development. Abstract

Stunting, a long-term nutritional condition that has an impact on children's growth, is characterized by a height that is lower than age standards due to ongoing nutritional deficiencies. In Srunggo 2 Hamlet, Selopamioro Village, Kapanewon Imogiri, Bantul Regency, this problem still occurs a lot. This is caused by the high rate of early marriage, lack of understanding and nutritional literacy among mothers and young women, and lack of public awareness of the importance of balanced nutrition. Through the Community Feeding Center (CFC) program, this community effort aims to increase nutritional awareness and increase access to healthy food. This program teaches the importance of balanced nutrition, assistance to pregnant women and toddlers, and good nutrition for children's growth. Apart from that, information about stunting, healthy eating patterns, and the importance of consuming blood supplement tablets for pregnant women and young women to prevent anemia, one of the risk factors for stunting in children, has been disseminated. The results of the activity show that the community better understands the importance of balanced nutrition, as shown by increased participation in education and changes to healthier eating patterns. Apart from that, pregnant women and young women are more aware of consuming blood supplement tablets regularly. It is hoped that with the existence of the Community Feeding Center and this educational program, community behavior will change in terms of parenting patterns and fulfilling children's nutrition. Thus, in the long term, the stunting rate in Srunggo 2 Hamlet can be reduced significantly.

Abstract

Child marriage remains a significant social issue in Indonesia, including in the Imogiri area of Bantul Regency, which faces a dual challenge of high rates of marriage dispensation and low interest among adolescents in pursuing higher education. So, this community service program aims to enhance human resource quality in Jetis Hamlet, Selopamioro Village, Imogiri District, Bantul Regency through education and community empowerment, particularly in preventing early marriage and increasing interest in higher education. Early marriage remains a challenge in this region due to social and economic factors, as well as a lack of awareness about the importance of education. This program adopts the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method, actively involving the community in problem identification, discussions, outreach, monitoring, and evaluation. The main activities include raising awareness about the negative impacts of early marriage, providing counseling on career pathways, and offering information on access to higher education and scholarships. The results of the program indicate an increased awareness among community members regarding the consequences of early marriage and the significance of higher education. Participants demonstrated improved understanding after attending the outreach sessions, particularly concerning the risks of early marriage and the benefits of continuing education. Additionally, a shift in attitude towards early marriage was observed, with more participants expressing an interest in pursuing higher education compared to before. Evaluation using pre-test and post-test assessments indicated a significant improvement in participants' understanding and attitudes toward the topics presented. Thus, this program successfully created a positive impact by raising awareness and broadening the perspectives of the Jetis Hamlet community on the importance of education as a strategic measure to prevent early marriage and improve their future well-being

Abstract

The World once more experienced an economic catastrophe in 2020, just 12 years after the global financial crisis. The global pandemic known as Covid-19 is the cause of the current crisis, which has an entirely different impact on the economy than the previous global financial crisis. The effect of the recession this time on Indonesia will be through three things, such as exports, investment, and purchasing power. Meanwhile, the thing that will be most felt by individuals is losing their jobs, although it is predicted that it will not be too significant either. Seeing this reality, the government especially Indonesia should immediately improve in facing the threat of global economic recession. A bleak period marked by negative economic growth for two consecutive quarters cannot be underestimated. In urgent times, the government must at the same time maintain people's purchasing power, control inflation, increase exports, and encourage investment growth. The government must not be slow to act because the signs of recession are in sight. This research is qualitative research that is a literature study (library research) that uses books and other literature as the main object. The result of this study is in maintaining domestic economic stability, Indonesia still refers to the Keynesian theory which suggests that the government must intervene in economic activities in a country

Abstract

Before COVID-19 , almost all businesses were doing well with MSMEs. However, when COVID-19  emerged, the situation reversed. There were 14.1% of MSMEs that stated that their business conditions were good, while 56.8% stated that their business conditions were bad. This study focuses on the growth of MSMEs in Indonesia after the COVID-19  epidemic. It uses qualitative research methodology to investigate the role of MSMEs in responding to the COVID-19  epidemic. The analysis used data from media reports from 2020-2024 and previous research projects. This research uses the observation method, which is a data collection method used to observe and understand a phenomenon in the context of the research. The COVID-19  pandemic has significantly impacted the performance of MSMEs with an increase in e-commerce by 27%, an increase in human resources by 19%, a decrease in sales by 12%, and an increase in social media adoption by 17%. These results show that the development of MSMEs after the COVID-19  pandemic is influenced by a combination of MSME performance, digitalization, HR competencies, social media adoption, financial literacy, and effective marketing strategies.
