Abstract

Public Health Center waste is considered as a link in the chain of transmission of infectious diseases. Waste can contain toxic chemicals and sharp objects that can cause health problems and injuries. The purpose of this study was to explore the management of solid hazardous and toxic waste (LB3) at the Tulungagung District Health Center. The design of this study was qualitative research with a phenomenological approach with a research focus directed at exploring the management of solid hazardous and toxic waste (LB3) at the Tulungagung District Health Center. In addition, with a qualitative approach it is hoped that the situation and problems encountered in the activity can be disclosed. The informants in this study were 22 (twenty two) Sanitarians in the Public Health Center with source triangulation. The management of solid Hazardous and Toxic Waste (LB3) at the Tulungagung District Health Center is quite good, where in terms of sorting the health center has implemented the standards that apply at the local health office, namely by preparing separate containers and containers that are safe from any contamination, then in terms of storage the health center has also implemented an effective storage system. However, there are some drawbacks starting from transportation, where in terms of transportation to the destruction of waste, most health centers cooperate with third parties, however, transportation is carried out by parties when it is not in accordance with standards where there is often a delay in transporting waste so that it accumulates in the environment for some time health center, apart from that during transport it also keeps the health center workers busy by collecting them outside of the health center working hours.

Abstract

Malnutrition, notably stunting, significantly impacts children's health and development, particularly during the first 1000 days of life. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is notably high, affecting approximately 30% of children under five in 2019, with Kediri Regency reporting a prevalence rate of 10.23% in 2022. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of parental knowledge and skills in improving nutritional status as well as children's responses to feeding on the nutritional status of children with malnutrition problems. The research design used in this research is a pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design. The sampling technique was total sampling with respondents in this study being 22 underprivileged families with toddlers who had nutritional problems and stunting in the Gempolan Village area. The problem of malnutrition in toddlers is quite high with an average Z Score of -2.42 (BB/U), -2.46 (TB/U), and -1.53 (BB/TB). Pre-test data on parents' knowledge and ability to fulfill children's nutrition shows that 68% have fairly good knowledge and skills and only 9% have good knowledge and skills. In this study, 50% of respondents had a fairly good response to feeding. The data highlights a significant problem of malnutrition in toddlers, characterized by low Z-Scores indicating undernutrition and growth stunting. These low Z-Scores pose substantial health risks, including compromised growth, weakened immunity, and potential long-term health issues. Parental knowledge and skills in nutrition are crucial, with most parents having reasonable knowledge levels. However, feeding problems persist, contributing to food rejection by children, exacerbating malnutrition.

Abstract

Malnutrition and stunting are significant issues among economically disadvantaged families in Kediri District, affecting children's health and development. This study assessed the Lumbung Hidup program, which established kitchen gardens and catfish farming to improve nutrition. Using a pre-experimental one-group pre-test post-test design, 22 toddlers with low body weight and stunting were monitored over three months. Pre-test data were collected before, and post-test data after the intervention. The intervention led to significant improvements in nutritional status. Mean weight increased from 11.25 kg (pre-test) to 14.48 kg (post-test 3), and mean height slightly increased from 89.29 cm to 89.98 cm. Paired sample t-tests showed significant enhancements in Z-scores for weight-for-age, height-for-age, and weight-for-height (p < 0.05). The Lumbung Hidup program effectively improved the nutritional status of toddlers from economically disadvantaged families, demonstrating potential for broader implementation to combat malnutrition and stunting.

According to (International Labour Organization, 2016), long working hours pose a risk to the health and safety of workers and affect a person's work stress. The design of this study used a cross sectional method in which the measurement of work stress and workload factors, conflict, responsibility, facilities and infrastructure as well as working hours that affect it is done simultaneously or at one time. This study has a population of 79 people, conducted with a quantitative approach, sampling techniques using simple random sampling and Ordinal regression analysis. This study found that there is a variable effect of workload on nurses 'work stress with a value of sig 0.036 and there is a variable effect of conflict with nurses' work stress with a value of sig 0.001. While the responsibility variable has no influence on the work stress of nurses with a value of sig 0.628, variable facilities and infrastructure has no influence on the work stress of nurses with a value of sig 0.099 and variable working hours have no influence on the work stress of nurses with a value of sig 0.288. It can be concluded that there is an influence of workload and conflict factors on the work stress of nurses at Daha Husada General Hospital Kediri.
