Abstract

Purpose: To chart the progress and trajectory of differentiated learning research in Scopus database-indexed publications from 1954 - 2023. The first publication was found in 1994. Methodology: Using bibliometric analysis method. A literature review was performed to ensure that relevant research on bibliometric topics was conducted. A Boolean search engine was utilized to search the Scopus database from 1954 to 2023. The analysis of citations, document content, and networks was carried out using R and Rstudio tools, VosViewer, and Microsoft Excel. Using the Boolean operator TITLE-ABS-KEY (differentiated and learning) to search Scopus and generate 7,012 documents. Filtering is done with the Boolean operator (LIMIT-TO (SUBJAREA, "soci")) AND (LIMIT TO (DOCTYPE, "ar")) AND (LIMIT-TO (SRCTYPE, "j")) AND (LIMIT TO (LANGUAGE, "English")) for social science field restrictions, source documents are only journals and articles in English, resulting in 1. 425. analysis using Scopus, R, and Rstudio to determine the number of articles per year, per journal, author, affiliation, country, and topic/sector. To visualize using VOSviewer and Microsoft Excel data processing. Results: 848 publications matched the function, subject, and criteria set. Annual growth rate of 7.33%, most publications in 2022 by US country with affiliation from University of Toronto US. Jordan J was the most prolific author. Applications/Originality/Value: This bibliometric analysis is limited to Scopus data. Other national and international databases should have been considered in this study. This research offers a concise summary of the available literature for researchers engaged in differentiated learning and offers suggestions for future research endeavors.

Abstract

Purpose: The study aims to investigate the effectiveness of the card sort learning method in improving students’ cognitive students in Kemuhammadiyahan learning at Muhammadiyah 2 Surakarta High School, Indonesia. Methodology: This research is quantitative by the environment, and the data was gathered through the use of questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Descriptive analysis and basic linear regression tests were employed to analyze the data. Results: The outcome of this investigation proves that the level of student perspective towards the card sort learning method and the learning achievement of students in the Muhammadiyah subject are in a positive category. The findings of the average mean score demonstrate the Muhammadiyah subject perceived level at 45.41% and the card sort method perceived level at 43.2%. The partial t-test (t = 8.276, p = 0.000) shows that the total cart sort learning method is linked to the overall learning outcomes of Muhammadiyah studies. The results of the significant prediction equation are built as Total Kemuhammadiyahan Learning = 0.933 + 0.129 (Total Card Sort Method). It can be possible to deduce that Ho is rejected and Ha is somewhat accepted, and therefore the card sort method significantly improves and predicts students' cognitive achievement in Muhammadiyah studies. Applications/Originality/Value: According to the study’s result, a card-sort learning method can be used effectively to improve students' cognitive aspects while learning Muhammadiyah studies. This study makes a significant contribution to the understanding of the card sort learning method as an effective instrument to develop the student’s cognitive abilities in learning Muhammadiyah studies.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of knowledge in Islam through the lens of the Islamic worldview, arguing that the issue is crucial in an age where scientific development is often shaped by secular assumptions. Although previous studies have highlighted differences between Islamic and Western epistemologies, they have rarely explored how revelation and reason can be systematically integrated and operationalized within contemporary scientific and educational practices. Accordingly, this study asks: how does the Islamic worldview conceptualize knowledge, and how can this vision inform the development of modern science and society? Using a qualitative, library-based design, the research analyzes classical and contemporary works, journal articles, and conference papers related to epistemology, ontology, and Islam science relations. Data were collected through purposive literature selection and analyzed thematically, moving from conceptual mapping, comparison, and synthesis toward evaluative interpretation. The findings reveal that knowledge in Islam is simultaneously rational, empirical, moral, and spiritual rooted in tawhid and oriented toward human flourishing. The study contributes a more holistic framework for integrating revelation and reason and recommends future work on curriculum design, policy alignment, and applied models linking ethics, spirituality, and scientific practice.

Abstract

The concept of adab in Islamic education plays a pivotal role in shaping the character and moral development of students. Adab, which encompasses ethics, morality, and spiritual values, goes beyond mere social politeness; it integrates character formation with intellectual and spiritual growth. This study explores the application of adab in both traditional and modern Islamic educational practices, emphasizing its significance in fostering a well-rounded individual. In traditional settings, such as pesantren and madrasahs, adab is deeply embedded in the learning process, with teachers serving as role models for both academic and moral values. However, modern education systems, often focused on academic achievement and technical skills, tend to overlook the importance of adab, resulting in a gap in character education. This research identifies the challenges of integrating adab into contemporary education, particularly in the face of technological advancements and the shifting priorities of global education systems. By proposing a more holistic approach, this study suggests that integrating adab into modern curricula can bridge the gap between intellectual competence and moral integrity, fostering individuals who are not only knowledgeable but also ethically responsible. The findings underscore the importance of revisiting adab in Islamic education to create a balanced educational framework that nurtures both the mind and the soul.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has affected the character development and psychological well-being of Generation Z, with young women experiencing increased exposure to social media. Insecurity, resulting from unrealistic beauty standards, social comparison, and appearance-related cyberbullying, has emerged as a significant issue in this context. These factors are associated with lower self-esteem, identity confusion, and unhealthy behaviors. This study evaluates the relevance of Rahmah El-Yunusiyah’s educational philosophy, as applied at Perguruan Diniyyah Puteri, in supporting the character, personality, and critical digital literacy of Generation Z young women. A qualitative approach was employed, using library research to analyze primary sources, including Rahmah El-Yunusiyah's official biography, as well as secondary sources such as academic journals and theoretical literature. The results show that Rahmah El-Yunusiyah's integrative educational model, which combines Islamic values, general knowledge, practical skills, and moral education through the tritunggal system, provides a suitable framework for addressing insecurity among Generation Z. The focus on taqwa, akhlaq, critical thinking, and social responsibility contributes to the development of a strong moral and identity foundation, supporting young women in managing digital challenges. Therefore, Rahmah El-Yunusiyah's educational philosophy remains relevant for addressing the psychological and moral challenges encountered by Generation Z in the digital era.

Abstract

Islamic education is not only oriented towards academic achievement, but also towards the holistic formation of students' personalities, especially in spiritual and psychological aspects. At the senior high school level, students are in a phase of self-identity search that is prone to decreased learning motivation and a crisis of meaning in life. This condition highlights the importance of an educational approach that can instill meaningful basic values. One such approach is the internalization of monotheistic values in Islamic Religious Education. This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing monotheistic values in Islamic Religious Education at Senior High School identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and examine its implications for strengthening students' self-esteem. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through interviews with students and documentation studies, then analyzed thematically. The results show that the internalization of monotheistic values occurs through the stages of understanding, appreciation, and practice of values in learning and school culture. Supporting factors include religious habits, role models among educators, and contextual learning, while normative approaches and the influence of the social-digital environment are inhibiting factors. The internalization of monotheistic values has implications for strengthening intrinsic learning motivation, psychological resilience, and students' ability to interpret the purpose of learning and life in a more meaningful way.
