Abstract

This study investigates the persistent challenges faced by coastal Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in East Java, whose export capacity remains limited despite their substantial economic contribution. A conceptual model integrating the Triple Bottom Line (economic, social, and environmental dimensions) with the Blue Economy framework as a mediating variable was developed and tested. The research employed a quantitative design using survey data from 250 coastal MSMEs and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results reveal that the environmental dimension exerts the strongest and most significant influence on sustainable export capacity (β = 0.47, p < 0.01), while the economic (β = 0.29, p < 0.05) and social (β = 0.21, p < 0.05) dimensions become more effective when mediated by Blue Economy principles. These findings highlight that coastal MSME empowerment requires multidimensional strategies that balance profit, people, and planet while leveraging blue economy innovation. The novelty of this study lies in extending TBL applications beyond corporate settings toward export-oriented MSMEs, contributing to sustainability literature and offering practical implications for advancing the Asta Cita 2 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 8, 12, 14).

Abstract

This study examines the role of intellectual capital in enhancing work productivity by focusing on three aspects of employee behavior: the direction of their actions, the amount of effort they put in, and their level of persistence. The research is conducted at PT. Global Offset Sejahtera, a printing company based in Sidoarjo. Intellectual capital is considered an intangible resource made up of the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of individuals and the organization as a whole. These elements help in achieving company objectives in a more effective and efficient manner. The study included 200 employees as participants and used a quantitative method along with SPSS for data analysis. The findings reveal that the three behavioral dimensions significantly impact employee productivity. This suggests that building intellectual capital not only enhances individual thinking abilities but also shapes how employees behave, how hard they work, and how long they persist in their tasks. As a result, it is recommended that companies adopt strategies for managing intellectual capital that are closely linked to efforts aimed at improving employee behavior, in order to support long-term productivity growth.

Abstract

This research investigates the influence of compensation and leadership on employee performance at Arthenis Travel Corporation. The study employs a quantitative approach, utilizing path analysis to explore direct and indirect relationships among these variables. Findings reveal that both compensation and leadership significantly enhance performance, with path coefficients of 0.513 and 0.402, respectively. Compensation, perceived as fair and competitive, motivates employees, leading to higher performance levels. Effective leadership practices, characterized by clear communication and support, also directly boost performance. Moreover, the study examines the mediating role of motivation. Results indicate that motivation partially mediates the relationship between compensation and performance, emphasizing the importance of intrinsic motivation alongside extrinsic rewards. However, motivation does not significantly mediate the relationship between leadership and performance, suggesting that the direct effects of leadership are more impactful. The research aligns with Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory and transformational leadership theories, providing practical insights for organizational strategies. By maintaining competitive compensation structures and investing in leadership development, Arthenis Travel Corporation can enhance employee satisfaction and performance. The study underscores the necessity of a holistic approach that integrates fair compensation and effective leadership to foster a motivated and high-performing workforce, ensuring sustained success in the travel industry.
