Abstract

Student facilitator and explaining dengan mind mapping merupakan kombinasi model pembelajaran dengan media pembelajaran. Peserta didik diarahkan agar fokus pada materi dan mampu menarik minat belajar sehingga dapat mempengaruhi hasil belajar mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh student facilitator and explaining dengan mind mapping terhadap hasil belajar dan minat belajar peserta didik kelas XI MIPA SMA N 1 Cangkringan. Termasuk dalam jenis penelitian quasi experimental dengan menggunakan desain control group pretest and posttest. Sampel penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 1 (kontrol) dan XI MIPA 2 (eksperimen), diperoleh dengan teknik random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, kuesioner, dan observasi. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan soal pilihan ganda, lembar angket, dan lembar observasi. Teknik analisis data meliputi uji prasyarat analisis dan dilanjutkan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai Asymp Sig (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05 sehingga dapat dinyatakan Ho ditolak, artinya ada pengaruh penerapan model student facilitator and explaining dengan mind mapping terhadap minat belajar pada kelas eksperimen. Sedangkan untuk hasil belajar diperoleh nilai Asymp Sig (2-tailed) 0,378 > 0,05 (Ho diterima), artinya tidak ada pengaruh penerapan model student facilitator and explaining dengan mind mapping terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik.The student facilitator and explaining with mind mapping is a learning model combine with learning media that helps the students focus on the material and attracts learning interest. This study aimed to find out the effect of student facilitator and explaining with mind mapping toward the students' learning outcome and learning interest in the class XI MIPA of senior high school 1 Cangkringan. This study was quasi-experimental. The class of XI MIPA 1 as a control class and XI MIPA 2 as a trial class, it's taken by a random sampling technique. Data collecting technique by using tests, questionnaires, and observation. The data collecting instrument by using a multiple choice question test, questionnaire sheets, and observation sheets. The data analysis technique consists of a prerequisite test and hypothesis test. The result showed that the value of Asymp Sig (2-tailed) of 0,000 < 0,05. It means that Ho declined, or there was an effect of implementing the learning model toward the learning interest in experiment class. The learning outcomes have obtained a value of 0,378 > 0,05 (Ho accepted), or there was no effect of the implementation learning model toward the students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

The circulatory system knowledge is essential to be mastered by junior high school students. This study aims to determine the effect of the student facilitator and explaining (SFAE) learning model on the learning outcomes of the circulatory system material in grade VIII students of Muhammadiyah 8 Yogyakarta Middle School. This type of research was quasi-experimental research, with the design used a nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 8 Yogyakarta in the academic year 2019/2020. The study sample involved 54 students divided into two classes taken by purposive sampling based on the value of daily tests that had been done previously. The research instrument was a test in the form of pretest and posttest questions. The results obtained were the application of the SFAE learning model in class VIII C of Muhammadiyah 8 Yogyakarta Middle School influencing the learning outcomes of students, as evidenced by the results of the hypothesis test using the Mann Whitney u-test, the significant results obtained 0,000 <0.05. The SFAE learning model influences the cognitive learning outcomes of students on the circulatory system material.Keywords: Learning outcomes, learning activeness, circulatory system, facilitator and explaining learning

Abstract

The laboratory has an important role in the implementation of learning, especially in the form of practicum. The use of school laboratories needs to be evaluated as a form of running school management. This study aims to determine: 1) the Principal's carrying capacity (contexts); 2) Resources support (input); 3) Laboratory utilization and constraints (process); 4) The percentage of students' interest in studying in the laboratory (product). This evaluation research uses the context, input, process, and product (CIPP) model. The research subjects were school principals, laboratory heads in SMA/MA Negeri in Godean sub-district, laboratory assistants at SMA N 1 Godean, two biology teachers from each school, and students SMA N 1 Godean 89 people and MAN 1 Sleman 80 people using proportionate stratified random sampling. The research object is the use of biological laboratories. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is in the form of qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The evaluation results by CIPP obtained: 1) Context, the support capacity provided by the Principal by facilitating laboratory utilization activities; 2) Input, the availability of infrastructure suggestions is used to support learning through practicum and demonstrations. Management is carried out by laboratory personnel. Management includes planning, arrangement, arrangement, monitoring, and evaluation; 3) Process, the laboratory is used based on its function. The obstacles faced are infrastructure, limited time, and human resources; 4) Product, the percentage of student interest in learning in the laboratory of SMA N 1 Godean is 94.01% and MAN 1 Sleman is 91.39%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the response of students of SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yog­yakarta to the Moega Smart School (MSS) Learning Media in Biology Subjects. This study uses a sampling technique that is Stratified Random Sampling. The sample in this study was MIPA students from class X, XI, and XII SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta with a total of 25% of 174 students or 43 respondents. This research includes quantitative descriptive research. The pop­ulation in this study were students at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. Respondents in this study were 43 students. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. The questionnaire con­tains several aspects, including aspects of implementation, ease of access, feedback, and graphics. The type of data obtained from this research is quantitative data. Data analysis was carried out by calculating the percentage of each aspect in the questionnaire sheet. The results showed that the response of Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta High School students to the Moega Smart School learning media in Biology was very positive in almost all aspects. Positive responses were ob­tained in the aspects of the implementation of learning. In terms of ease of access, feedback, and graphics, a very positive response was obtained.

Abstract

Practicum has an essential role in learning biology, especially during online learning. Various forms of online practicum are sought, one of which is in the vertebrate anatomy course practicum. As a form of evaluation, it is necessary to know student perceptions of the online practicum process. The purpose of the study was to determine the quality of the online practicum process for vertebrate anatomy courses based on the perceptions of students participating in the practicum. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire containing 12 statement items with a Likert scale using five choices. The study involved 34 students of the 2020 Biology Education Study Program, FKIP UAD, who had com­pleted the online practicum for the vertebrate anatomy course. The results showed that students' perceptions of understanding, aspects of practicum media, and aspects of the online practicum process for vertebrate anatomy courses gave a positive response. However, every aspect had to be improved again. The positive response of students' perceptions shows that the quality of the online practicum for the vertebrate anatomy course has met student expectations. Online practi­cums can be innovated to support the implementation of future practicums in conditions free from pandemics.

Abstract

The virtual laboratory plays an essential role in providing visualization of a process in the biological sciences, thus helping students understand biology learning. This study aims to determine students' perceptions at SMPN 15 Yogyakarta on the use of Virtual Laboratory (V-Lab) Biology developed by the Ministry of Education and Culture. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using a questionnaire technique. The data collection instrument is in the form of a questionnaire. The population of this study was students of class VIII odd semester in the 2021/2022 academic year at SMPN 15 Yogyakarta. The number of research subjects as many as 23 students in class VIII D SMPN 15 Yogyakarta. Data analysis was carried out using a Likert scale through 10 statement items related to the use of V-Lab. The results showed that most students gave a positive perception with a percentage range (39-75%). The student has a positive perception of V-Lab and can be an alternative to be used primarily in online learning.

Abstract

A cladogram is a matter of the presence or absence of kinship living things in a group. Cladograms are often found in everyday life, but the teacher cannot provide maximum examples to students due to limited time and teaching materials in classroom learning. This study aimed to find motion graphic animation video media for the odd semester X MIPA cladogram material. This research and development research with a 4-D development model (four D) define, design, develop, and disseminate. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Validation was carried out by media experts, material experts, and small and large group assessments and trials on students. The study results said that the validation of media experts obtained a percentage of 86.67%. Material expert validation obtained a proportion of 66.67%. The teacher's assessment obtained a percentage of 95%. The response of 10 students of class X MIPA 2 in the small group trial obtained 83.19%. Meanwhile, in the large group trial with a response of 30 students of class X MIPA 1, the proportion was 84.55%. So, the motion graphic animation video of the cladogram material is declared suitable for use in learning.AbstrakKladogram merupakan materi ada atau tidaknya hubungan kekerabatan makhluk hidup di dalam suatu kelompok. Kladogram banyak dijumpai dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, namun karena adanya keterbatasan waktu dan bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran di kelas guru belum dapat memberikan contoh yang maksimal kepada siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menguji kelayakan media video animasi motion graphic materi kladogram X MIPA semester ganjil. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model pengembangan 4-D (four D), yaitu define (pendefinisian), design (perancangan), develop (pengembangan), dan disseminate (penyebaran). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dengan skala Likert. Validasi dilakukan oleh ahli media, ahli materi, dan penilaian pendidik serta uji coba kelompok kecil dan besar pada siswa. Hasil penilaian validasi dari ahli media 86,67%, ahli materi 66,67%, dan guru 95%. Respon dari 10 siswa kelas X MIPA 2 pada uji coba kelompok kecil memperoleh persentase 83,19%. Sedangkan, pada uji coba kelompok besar dengan respon 30 siswa kelas X MIPA 1 memperoleh persentase 84,55%. Maka, video animasi motion graphic materi kladogram dinyatakan layak digunakan untuk pembelajaran.

Abstract

Digital-based biology learning media is very suitable for learning in the era of globalization, especially in visualizing abstract material. Students are familiar with puzzle games; variations of digital puzzles are required for visualization cell materials. This research focuses on developing and finding learning media in the form of digital cell puzzles to use them to understand learning material that is not boring. The digital puzzle learning media developing with a 4-D development model (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). The developed digital puzzle learning media got value highly for using in learning cell material with assessments from material experts 81.72%, media experts 89.10%, teachers 97.82%. Student responses on the small-scale test (91.90%) and the large-scale test (93.53%) in the criteria are very good or very useful for learning. Digital-based learning such as digital puzzles can be interesting learning in the era of globalization.Abstrak Media pembelajaran biologi berbasis digital sangat cocok digunakan untuk pembelajaran di era globalisasi terutama dalam memvisualisasikan materi yang abstrak. Siswa akrab dengan permainan puzzle; variasi teka-teki digital diperlukan untuk visualisasi bahan sel. Penelitian ini berfokus pada pengembangan dan penemuan media pembelajaran berupa digital cell puzzles untuk digunakan dalam memahami materi pembelajaran agar tidak membosankan. Media pembelajaran puzzle digital dikembangkan dengan model pengembangan 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate). Media pembelajaran puzzle digital yang dikembangkan mendapat nilai tinggi untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran materi sel dengan penilaian ahli materi 81,72%, ahli media 89,10%, guru 97,82%. Respon siswa pada tes skala kecil (91,90%) dan tes skala besar (93,53%) dalam kriteria sangat baik atau sangat bermanfaat untuk pembelajaran. Pembelajaran berbasis digital seperti media puzzle digital ini dapat menjadi pembelajaran yang diminati di era globalisasi.

Abstract

Problem-based learning is a widely used learning model, but how to implement it using blended learning to overcome online learning in junior high school. This article focuses on finding out the effect of problem-based learning implemented by blended learning on students' motivation and learning outcomes. This studey used a quasi-experimental design. The research sample used two classes with a purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique used a post-test instrument test to see the learning outcomes and used a learning motivation questionnaire. The Mann-Whitney U-test of the learning outcomes showed the p-value is less than 0.05, which means that there is a significant difference on student learning outcomes due to the implications of the problem-based learning model with blended learning using Edmodo on environmental pollution. However, the Mann-Whitney U-test of the learning motivation showed the p-value is more than 0.05, which means that there is no a significant difference on student learning motivation due to the implications of the problem-based learning model with blended learning using Edmodo on environmental pollution

Abstract

The suitable teaching materials will make it easier for students to learn in the classroom. To present suitable teaching materials, a needs analysis is needed. This study aimed to determine the types and characteristics of teaching materials needed in learning biology laboratory management. The survey method was carried out to students who were randomly selected. The instrument is arranged in the form of a questionnaire by paying attention to each characteristic indicator of various teaching materials. The validity of the instrument used a combination of expert judgment. The questionnaire is distributed via google form to students who have taken laboratory management courses with a filling period of 2 weeks obtained 123 respondents. The data were analyzed descriptively of quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the percentage of students who needed teaching materials for biology laboratory management lectures was 98%; the characteristics of teaching materials wanted by students included: containing learning objectives, using simple language, sequenced materials according to lecture sessions, containing summaries, and providing feedback. Teaching materials based on existing characteristics can be in the form of modules that are adapted to the Semester Learning Plan.
