Abstract

In Indonesia's growing beauty industry, online reviews and online ratings are critical in shaping consumer purchase decisions. Local beauty brands like Somethinc leverage eWOM to build trust, while the Korean Wave (Hallyu) influences consumer preferences. This study explores the impact of online reviews and online ratings on Somethinc product purchases, with the Korean Wave as a moderating factor. This study designed using a quantitative research design, data was collected via structured questionnaires, and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results reveal that online ratings significantly influence purchase decisions, while online reviews show a weaker effect. The Korean Wave moderates the relationship between online ratings and purchase decisions, enhancing their effect, but has a negative moderating effect on online reviews. These results suggest that local beauty brands like Somethinc can benefit from aligning their marketing strategies with global cultural trends, especially those related to Korean beauty standards.

Abstract

Abstract

Plasma farmer groups smallholder farmers linked contractually to larger nucleus companies in the palm oil industry face challenges in maintaining consistent fresh fruit bunch (FFB) quality. These challenges, primarily due to the use of uncertified seeds and fluctuating yields, negatively affect their business performance. To address these issues, this study investigates how information sharing and trust influence business performance, both directly and indirectly, through competitive advantage. A quantitative approach was adopted using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 83 plasma farmer groups selected through probability sampling. Structural equation modeling via SmartPLS was used to analyze the data. Results show that both information sharing and trust significantly enhance business performance, directly and via competitive advantage. Effective information sharing improves coordination and operational efficiency, while trust strengthens reliable partnerships, leading to higher productivity and profitability. Competitive advantage achieved through superior product quality and cost efficiency amplifies these effects. The study concludes that fostering transparent communication and trust-based collaboration is critical to strengthening the competitiveness and sustainability of plasma farmer groups within the palm oil supply chain.

Abstract

Achieving Indonesia’s net-zero emissions target by 2060 requires a green energy marketing strategy that focuses not only on products but also on building trust, social value, and digital participation. This study aims to identify key factors influencing the adoption of renewable natural gas in Indonesia and formulate a conceptual model of clean energy adoption based on trust and digitalization. The method used was a systematic literature review guided by PRISMA 2020 on articles obtained from Scopus, ScienceDirect, Taylor & Francis, and SINTA databases, where selected studies were analyzed thematically. The results of the study indicate that the adoption of renewable natural gas is influenced by green trust formed through credible digital information, institutional reputation, and customer experience. Perceived value encompasses economic, social, and symbolic benefits, as well as digital engagement that increases awareness and loyalty. Furthermore, barriers were identified in the form of perceived price risk, limited infrastructure, and low green energy literacy. This study concludes that green energy marketing needs to be directed at creating value based on trust and digital experiences, while also encouraging the strategic role of state-owned energy companies in building a trust ecosystem and cross-sector collaboration.

Abstract

This article examines how human resource development influences the performance of election supervisory bodies (Badan Pengawas Pemilu/Bawaslu) at the regency/city level in North Sumatra Province during the 2024 Simultaneous Elections, a region characterized by high socio-political complexity. The study aims to identify key human resource strategies that contribute to effective electoral supervision and dispute prevention. Using a systematic literature review of academic publications, scholarly books, and official Bawaslu reports published between 2006 and 2025, with emphasis on studies from 2020–2025, the analysis is complemented by secondary data on election result disputes submitted to the Constitutional Court. Content analysis reveals four strategic pillars of human resource development: continuous training and technical guidance, multi-level mentoring and supervision, utilization of information technology for real-time reporting, and reinforcement of integrity and professionalism. The findings indicate that the integration of these pillars enhances supervisory capacity in preventing violations, managing disputes, and ensuring accountability. This is reflected in the limited number of election dispute cases, with most applications dismissed and only one case related to administrative compliance rather than supervisory weakness. Overall, the study demonstrates that comprehensive human resource development plays a crucial role in strengthening supervisory performance and supporting democratic credibility at the local level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Halal Food Supply Chain Management (HFSCM) on the competitive advantage of Food & Beverages MSMEs fostered by Pekanbaru SOE Houses. The background of the research is based on the low level of halal certification and the lack of optimal implementation of halal supply chains in the culinary MSME sector, even though Indonesia has great potential in the halal industry. The study used a quantitative approach with the SEM-PLS method and involved 130 active MSME respondents. HFSCM is measured through six dimensions: halal raw material, halal process, halal packaging, halal warehousing, halal transportation, and halal distribution. Competitive advantage is measured through product quality, innovation, delivery accuracy, service, and differentiation. The results of the study show that the entire hypothesis is accepted. HFSCM has been proven to have a positive and significant influence on the competitive advantage of MSMEs. Supplier Partnership is the most dominant factor in increasing competitiveness, while Human Development is the strongest predictor of HFSCM. The R² value of 74.3% in the competitive advantage variable and 69.2% in HFSCM indicates the high predictive power of the model. This study confirms that the implementation of a halal supply chain as a whole increases consumer confidence, operational quality, and the competitive position of MSMEs. These findings make a practical contribution to the development of MSMEs, especially in strengthening human resource competencies, supplier partnerships, and digital literacy to support the sustainable implementation of HFSCM.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the service quality, price, and physical evidence between local and national fast food restaurants in Pekanbaru City, specifically RG Fried Chicken and Richeese Factory, among Millennial and Gen Z consumers. A quantitative approach was used with data collection through questionnaires distributed to respondents who had made purchases at both restaurants. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and hypothesis testing with the Paired Sample t-Test method assisted by SPSS version 21 to test the differences between the two research objects. The results showed that there was no significant difference in service quality among Millennials, while there was a significant difference among Generation Z. In addition, there was a significant difference in physical evidence for both generations. However, no significant difference was found in the price variable among Millennials, while a significant difference was found among Generation Z. These findings indicate that generational characteristics influence consumer perceptions of service quality, price, and physical evidence at local and national fast food restaurants in Pekanbaru City and in similar urban markets in Indonesia.
