Abstract

Transportation is a basic need and plays an important role to support people's daily activities. However, over time, traffic density cannot be handled properly so that it causes traffic irregularities, air pollution, and wasteful use of fuel energy. The need for fuel oil has increased drastically, causing an increase in the price of fuel oil which until now the price is still unstable. Since the decline in vehicle mobility caused by the lockdown, the level of air pollution has decreased compared to before the COVID-19 pandemic. The existence of alternatives and new breakthroughs in vehicles that are more environmentally friendly and efficient based on electricity is an option due to the use of renewable energy such as electric bicycles. The vehicle is currently undergoing very rapid development so that with this innovation it can support the vision of the Indonesian state to achieve Net Zero Emissions in 2060. To achieve this, it can be done by developing a transmission system on bicycles to increase optimal power efficiency and save power so that in the future these bicycles can be used for longer distances. To solve this problem the author uses the Ulrich method. Of the three designs made, a design with a flywheel and motor drive was chosen which was combined into 2 shafts, one of which later became the pedal shaft for the bicycle pedal. Then, the cost of making this transmission system itself costs IDR 3,315,000.

Abstract

Companies engaged in heavy equipment, both distributors and heavy equipment maintenance processes, generally have warehouses in the storage of spare parts. UT Surabaya has many support points that result in the accumulation of spare parts storage to eat other areas. As a result, the company's workflow is hampered due to improper placement of spareparts in the proper area which results in damage to spare parts. One method that can solve this problem is the Systematic Layout Planning method. This method has a detailed procedure for arranging layouts so that it can bring up more than one alternative layout. In addition, the Class Based Storage method is also used as a design and calculation of racks to design a warehousing system that is aligned within the company. The use of this method resulted in the proposed layout material handling cost, namely the total initial layout OMH was Rp759,235.74, - while the proposed layout OMH was Rp646,000.06,-,. In the comparison of OMH, it was found that the cost decreased by Rp113,235.68,- per day. So the new layout is able to increase the efficiency of mileage material handling costs.

Abstract

PT Titian Kencana Samudera Jaya is one of the companies engaged in Engineering, Fabrication and Construction. The hand stacker itself can be used to lift, lower, and move materials from one place to another. This type of lifting mechanism on the hand stacker uses a pulley system. Hand stacker with a size that fits the dimensions of the company makes it easier to move materials and several machines to be worked on. In this design, product development uses the Ulrich method. The concept selection in this design uses a pulley system as a lifting system where compared to the hydraulic system, the pulley system has a longer displacement distance because the pulley system uses a 6 x 19 IWRC steel rope and lifts goods faster because it uses a motor drive. The results of this research found that this tool saves more time to lift and use a motor that greatly facilitates workers and avoids excessive fatigue. This tool is made from UNP canal, and hollow which has dimensions of 1100mm long x 600 mm wide x 1750 mm high. The cost of designing this tool is Rp. 6,197,400, -

Abstract

In this study, the design of a Single Girder Overhead Craneincludes Girders using Honeycomb beams, end Carriages, runway rails using Honeycombbeams and supporting columns. The next design will be analyzed the strength of the construction made to calculate the maximum stress, deflection, and buckling. The analysis process will use the FEM (fenite element methods) approach using FUSION 360 software. Comparing the simulation results is carried out on the stress yield values, and deflection. From the results of the design and analysis, the dimensions of the Main Girder, End Carriage, Runway Beamand column construction have met the requirements.

Abstract

Mojotamping Village is the center of the brick industry in East Java. In this village, almost 90% of the residents work as red brick makers on a home industry scale. However, the manufacturing process still uses less efficient methods. Based on these problems, a design for a clay smoothing machine and MRH red brick press specifically for home industries was created. The method used is the Ulrich method by creating 3 different design concepts by considering the specified criteria. Machine design begins with calculating machine component elements from the selected design concept as a reference in determining the size and material of the components for the clay smoothing machine and MRH red brick press machine specifically for the home industry, then designing what manufacturing processes are needed in making the clay smoothing and printing machine MRH red brick press specifically for home industries. This machine has a printing capacity of 300 bricks per hour, so if the operator runs this machine for 8 hours per day this machine can produce 2500 bricks per day. This machine is designed to use a 3 HP engine which is considered to have good fuel efficiency so it can reduce production costs when compared to existing products.

Abstract

In a company, the arrangement of machinery and equipment affects production activities, especially the effectiveness of the production process time and the fatigue experienced by operators on the production floor. A good layout is a layout that is arranged based on the flow pattern of materials and equipment that is regular and effective. Based on observations made at CV. Anugrah Masruroh Teknik, the problem in this business is the placement of facilities that hinder the process of moving materials. The location of receiving materials inhibits the process of moving materials from one machine to another. This study aims to obtain a better layout to minimize the distance or minimize the distance of movement between production stations. The method used in this research is BLOCPLAN (Block Layout Overview with Computerized Planning Using Logic and Algorithms). The resulting 5 alternative layouts can be made which are then selected to determine the most efficient alternative layout based on the smallest material handling costs. The results showed an alternative layout resulting from the BLOCPLAN method with a minimization of the distance between facilities of around 68.5% and a reduction in material handling costs of around 68.3% of the actual layout. The redesign of the production facility layout of CV Anugrah Masruroh Teknik is considered effective using the BLOCPLAN method.

Abstract

Effective machinery and supporting systems significantly influence production capacity, precision, and workflow continuity. In several companies, the lifting of hardened furan sand is still performed using forklifts, leading to delays and reduced efficiency, particularly during night shifts. This condition highlights the need for a more reliable material handling system. This study aims to design a conveyor system capable of transporting hardened sand to the sand crusher machine as an alternative to forklift-based handling. The conveyor is designed to match the height and spatial constraints of the existing sand crusher and can be operated without forklift assistance. The design process includes problem identification, product requirement definition, concept development, and concept evaluation. The results indicate that the second design concept provides the best performance, with a maximum stress of 60.729 MPa, supported by six structural frames, and a total manufacturing cost of Rp 37,923,000. The proposed conveyor system offers a more efficient and practical solution for material handling in sand-processing operations.   Keywords: Manufacturing industry, production efficiency, conveyor system, sand crusher

Abstract

At the shipyard, the sandblasting process is routinely carried out to clean material surfaces from rust and other contaminants. This process produces waste in the form of used sand mixed with metal fragments and other debris, requiring separation before the waste can be reused as a concrete mixture. Currently, the separation process is still performed manually, which is considered inefficient due to the large volume of waste, averaging 42 tons per day. To address this issue, the author designed a sandblasting waste sieving machine to make the separation process more automatic and effective. The structural design and strength analysis were carried out using Autodesk Fusion 360 software. The simulation results of the selected design concept showed a minimum safety factor of 6.51, a maximum von Mises stress of 38.134 MPa on the main frame, and a maximum displacement of 0.186 mm on the sieve holder. The design has an estimated total manufacturing cost of Rp4.244.000,-.

Abstract

Kunyit (Curcuma longa Linn.) merupakan salah satu komoditas unggulan di Kabupaten Kediri dengan potensi ekonomi tinggi, namun pengelolaan pascapanen masih terkendala penggunaan metode manual yang tidak efisien. Proses perajangan tradisional menggunakan osrok menghasilkan irisan tidak seragam, sehingga menurunkan mutu kunyit kering dan daya saing produk di pasar. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan efisiensi produksi dan kualitas hasil melalui penerapan mesin perajang otomatis serta penguatan kapasitas manajerial petani. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif berbasis teknologi tepat guna, meliputi survei awal, pengadaan dan uji mesin, pelatihan teknis berbasis praktik langsung, pendampingan operasional, serta pelatihan manajerial. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan kuesioner pre–post test, catatan produksi, dan wawancara semi-terstruktur. Hasil menunjukkan kapasitas produksi meningkat dari 40 kg/jam dengan metode manual menjadi 80 kg/jam dengan mesin otomatis, dengan mutu rajangan lebih seragam. Skor pemahaman mitra meningkat dari 2,8 menjadi 4,6 (skala 1–5), menandakan peningkatan signifikan dalam keterampilan operasional. Selain itu, mitra mulai menerapkan pencatatan usaha sederhana. Kesimpulan utama dari program ini adalah integrasi teknologi tepat guna dengan pelatihan dan pendampingan terbukti efektif meningkatkan produktivitas, mutu produk, serta kemandirian petani. Kontribusi program terletak pada model integratif yang dapat direplikasi pada komunitas tani lain untuk memperkuat ekosistem pertanian herbal lokal dan mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan.
