Abstract

This study aims to systematically review and analyze the trends in the use of the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model across various educational programs, as well as its strengths, weaknesses, and recommendations for implementation. The research employed a systematic literature review method, consisting of four stages: identification, selection, eligibility assessment, and inclusion. Article searches were conducted through Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and SpringerLink using the keyword “CIPP model of education evaluation,” resulting in 833 articles. Most of these articles were published in international journals and conference proceedings from various countries. After applying the inclusion criteria, 26 articles were selected that specifically discussed the application of the CIPP model in education. The findings indicate that the CIPP model is widely used as a comprehensive and flexible evaluation framework, especially in Asia, between 2019 and 2025. It is effective in assessing program context, resource input, implementation processes, and outcomes. However, challenges include the complexity of mixed-method data analysis and the need for skilled evaluators. This review recommends modularizing evaluation instruments, providing standardized training for evaluators, integrating digital technology, adapting local indicators, and developing flexible policy support. These strategies aim to enhance the relevance, efficiency, and impact of the CIPP model in education evaluation practices.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is a pedagogical approach that recognizes the diversity of students in terms of readiness, interests, and learning styles. This study aims to analyse the implementation, outcomes, and challenges of differentiated learning in 21st-century education. This study uses a systematic literature review method, which evaluates 22 selected articles from the Scopus and Google Scholar databases. The findings reveal that differentiated learning is effective in enhancing student engagement, material comprehension, and social skills through the adaptation of content, processes, products, and learning environments. However, its implementation faces challenges such as time management, limited human resources, and perceptions of inequity among students. Addressing these challenges requires enhancing teacher competence, providing adequate support from the education system, and implementing more effective classroom management. This study contributes by offering insights into differentiated learning practices and strategies relevant to the Merdeka Curriculum era and humanistic education.

Abstract

Purpose – This study addresses the critical need for a contextual and comprehensive evaluation system for entrepreneurship education in Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKI). While global research increasingly supports the role of entrepreneurship education in driving innovation and sustainability, most existing studies focus on entrepreneurial intentions or self-efficacy, with limited attention to systematic evaluation frameworks. This study aims to map global scientific trends, identify adaptive evaluation models, and formulate a Learning-Oriented Assessment (LOA)-based conceptual framework tailored for PTKI. Design/methods/approach – Using a mixed-methods exploratory design, the study integrates bibliometric analysis of 1,428 Scopus-indexed articles (2015–2025) with a systematic literature review (SLR) of 29 empirically and theoretically grounded studies. Analytical tools such as VOSviewer, R Studio Bibliometrix, and PRISMA 2020 protocols were employed to ensure methodological rigor. The PICOS framework guided article selection and synthesis. Findings – Results show a steady 5.12% annual growth in publications, with hybrid models—particularly the CIPP-AHP-FCE—emerging as the most adaptive across diverse institutional contexts, including those with limited technological capacity. Dual-focused evaluations that integrate both learning processes and outcomes are found to be more holistic and sustainable. However, process-oriented assessment models remain underrepresented in current literature. Research implications – PTKIs can adopt the synthesized models and proposed framework to develop evaluation systems that align with their technological readiness, educator competencies, and spiritual mandates. This supports the advancement of reflective, inclusive, and pedagogically effective entrepreneurship education.

Abstract

Abstract: The traditional classification of pesantren into salaf, khalaf, or mixed categories no longer captures the rich diversity of contemporary Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. This study proposes a revised typological framework that considers the ideological and organizational affiliations of pesantren—such as NU) Muhammadiyah, Persis, Shia, and LDII. Employing qualitative library research, the analysis draws from institutional records, curriculum documents, and scholarly literature. Findings reveal that each affiliation manifests distinct educational visions: NU emphasizes tafaqquh fi al-din through classical texts; Muhammadiyah blends national education with reformist Islam; Persis promotes rationalism and anti-madhhab discourse; Shia pesantren foreground philosophy and logic; and LDII implements a closed, tiered system. The study argues for redefining pesantren typology through ideological and pedagogical lenses, offering a more accurate framework for scholars, educators, and policymakers engaging with Indonesia’s pluralistic Islamic education landscape. Keywords: Curriculum, Pesantren Typology, Islamic Education, Indonesian Islamic Organizations, Religious Affiliation.
