Abstract

This study aims to describe the condition of the teaching materials of the Indonesian Basic Education Course (KPDI) and the needs of BIPA (Indonesian for Foreign Speakers) teaching materials for KPDI students in Mindanao, Philippines. This research method is a descriptive research type in the initial stage of defining the 4D model development research. Data collection techniques include interviews, non-participant observations, and literature studies. Interviews were conducted with students, teachers of the Indonesian School of Davao (SID), and staff of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Davao City. The results of the study showed that the main obstacles were the limited availability of relevant teaching materials and the lack of tutors with a strong Indonesian background. Reading comprehension skills, especially vocabulary, need to be improved. Priority topics of teaching materials include introductions, home environment, transportation, and school activities. Teaching materials must be easily accessible, independently studied, and interesting, and integrate the values of the Pancasila Student Profile (P3) to strengthen Indonesian values. This is important for students who will continue their education at the Indonesian School Abroad (SILN). These findings highlight the need for contextual, accessible BIPA materials relevant to students’ environments and integrated with Pancasila values to support language skills and global readiness.

Abstract

Local wisdom in society is rich in indigenous scientific knowledge. However, the reconstruction of original science in society into scientific science is still very limited. This research is based on the limited reconstruction of original science that developed in society into scientific science that can be used by students as an independent learning resource. Research on "Ethnoscientific Studies in the Process of Making Gembus Tempe in Science Learning" is crucial to carry out, considering that no one has yet done a comprehensive analysis of this topic. It is important to carry out this research so that the truth of the research potential can be known and can be used as a consideration in preparing further learning designs. The aim of this research is to reconstruct the original science of the community regarding the process of making tempe gembus into scientific science, as well as explaining the science material related to the reconstruction of original science in the process of making tempe gembus. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data in this research was obtained from interviews, observations, documentation, and literature review to find out the process of making tempe gembus. The research data obtained was then analyzed in several stages, namely data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of the research show that the process of making tempeh gembus carried out by the community can be interpreted into scientific knowledge and implemented in science learning.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to analyze initial needs in developing concrete learning media in the form of Ribeka Rings to improve numeracy understanding and environmental awareness for fifth grade of elementary school students. The condition of the school environment was not kept clean and the students' low awareness of waste management can be overcome through the integration of numeracy learning with the use of recycled waste as a concrete medium. Environmental awareness that is formed through the use of recycled waste as a learning medium can be strengthened with a collaborative approach, where teachers, students and the community jointly design and create ribeka ring media in order to increase students' understanding of numeracy and environmental awareness in the school. The method used in this research is a descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and questionnaires for teachers and students. The research results show that students need learning media that can visualize mathematical concepts in a concrete and fun way. These findings supported the development of Ribeka Ring media as an effective means of increasing understanding of numeracy while instilling environmental awareness in elementary school students. Learning media that combines mathematical concepts with environmental awareness, such as the Ribeka Ring, can be an effective solution for improving students' understanding of numeracy and environmental awareness simultaneously. It is hoped that this media can make learning more fun and relevant to real life.

Abstract

Digital teaching materials are one of the learning tools that can facilitate student learning. The reason for this research is the absence of digital teaching materials and the lack of matching the content of learning materials with the characteristics of students. This study uses a 4D model using only 3 stages due to time constraints, the target of this research is grade VI students of SDN 1 Pagentan Singosari Malang with the type of data used, namely qualitative and quantitative data. The results of the product validity test from the assessment of material experts and linguists obtained an average score of 95.46% which shows very valid criteria. The results of the product attractiveness test from the student and teacher response questionnaire during the limited and field trials obtained an average score of 86.71% and 93.29% which shows very interesting criteria. The results of the product practicality test were obtained from the teacher's response questionnaire (94.82%) and the student's response (84.61%) which showed very practical criteria. . Eth-nopedagogy-based LKPD products also show effective criteria for an increase in student learning activities and teacher activities before and during the use of LKPD, namely the previous student activity from 46.75% to 82.24% while the previous teacher's activity was 74.43% to 90.27% so that it can be concluded that ethnopedagogy-based LKPD is very effective in increasing student and teacher activities in learning. Based on these results, ethnopedagogy-based LKPD for use in elemen-tary schools has met the requirements for use in learning because it has met the criteria of validity, attractiveness, effectiveness, and practicality.

Abstract

Low literacy competencies among Indonesian elementary students, as evidenced by international assessments, necessitate innovative pedagogical approaches. This study examines learning strategies for optimizing literacy skills in Indonesian language instruction at the elementary level. A systematic literature review was conducted across multiple databases (Google Scholar, ERIC, ScienceDirect) covering publications from 2018-2024. Five empirical studies meeting rigorous inclusion criteria were analyzed using thematic synthesis to identify effective strategies and their characteristics. Five pedagogical approaches demonstrated significant effectiveness: Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) enhanced critical thinking and comprehension; Project-Based Learning (PJBL) developed linguistic and non-linguistic competencies; Problem-Based Learning (PBL) promoted higher-order thinking skills; Deep Learning through multiliteracy pedagogy enabled differentiated instruction; and Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) improved reading comprehension through contextual relevance. All strategies emphasized active engagement, collaborative learning, and authentic task integration, yielding substantial improvements in reading, writing, and critical thinking abilities compared to conventional instruction. These findings align with constructivist learning theory and strongly support Kurikulum Merdeka principles of student-centered, differentiated instruction. The convergence of positive outcomes across diverse strategies provides evidence-based guidance for educators while highlighting the need for comprehensive teacher professional development and systemic institutional support for sustainable implementation.
