Abstract

The rapid development of higher education in Indonesia has led students to actively contribute to societal development through research, particularly in quantitative research. However, students face challenges, such as slow research progress and resource constraints. This article proposes an innovative solution by harnessing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to support student research. The utilization of online applications and platforms, especially in the context of quantitative research, is expected to expedite research progress and provide greater flexibility. Support from higher education institutions and the government, including adequate infrastructure and training, is essential to ensure the sustainability of this solution. Additionally, a holistic approach emphasizing digital literacy, research ethics, and collaboration among students can enhance research quality. The article also presents the implementation method of quantitative research training using the JAMOVI application, followed by a follow-up plan to ensure sustained understanding and practical application. The results show that remote research training has a positive impact, enabling students to maximize the potential of technology for research advancement and scientific contributions. The program provides in-depth insights into the concepts of quantitative research, the installation and use of the JAMOVI application, and reinforcement through discussions and case studies. In conclusion, the implementation of remote research in students forms a solid foundation for advancing higher education in Indonesia, and follow-up measures are necessary to maintain sustainability and enhance program effectiveness.

Abstract

The development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology presents new challenges related to personal data protection. Among university students, the use of IoT devices is increasing, yet their understanding of privacy policies remains low. This study aims to analyze students’ understanding of IoT application privacy policies and their impact on personal data security. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed, utilizing an online questionnaire filled out by student respondents. The data analysis results indicate that the proportion of students who rarely read privacy policies and have limited understanding of them is relatively high. Only 22.65% of respondents reported regularly reading privacy policies, 20.55% demonstrated an understanding of privacy policies, and 20.27% expressed concern about the misuse of personal data. These findings indicate that most students do not read IoT application privacy policies, resulting in a relatively low level of concern about potential data misuse. Therefore, more accessible and comprehensible privacy policies are necessary to improve privacy literacy and enhance user trust in IoT mobile applications. Clearer privacy policies and increased education on the importance of privacy are essential to improve digital literacy and strengthen user confidence.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi memiliki pengaruh yang cukup besar dalam bidang pendidikan. Hal itu dapat dilihat dari berbagai perkembangan dalam bidang pendidikan yang menerapkan teknologi dalam pelaksanannya, salah satunya dalam proses pembelajaran. Salah satu model pembelajaran daring yang dapat digunakan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar (KBM) yaitu blended learning. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh metode blended learning terhadap keefektifitasan hasil belajar mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Makassar. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan menyebarkan angket untuk melihat validitas dari pembelajaran blended learning terhadap mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Makassar. Penelitian ini menunjukkan pro dan kontra terhadap metode pembelajaran blended learning.

Abstract

Transformasi digital dalam dunia pendidikan menuntut guru untuk mengembangkan keterampilan dalam menciptakan media pembelajaran yang menarik, berkesan, dan relevan bagi generasi digital. Canva sebagai platform desain yang berani dan gratis serta mudah digunakan, menawarkan peluang besar untuk mendukung pengembangan media terbuka visual dan interaktif di berbagai jenjang pendidikan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru di UPT SPF SMPN 50 Makassar dalam memanfaatkan Canva sebagai perangkat pembelajaran yang optimal. Pelatihan diselenggarakan dalam bentuk workshop aplikasi dengan pendekatan inklusif. Peserta dibekali materi konseptual dan teknis dalam Canva, dilanjutkan dengan sesi pelatihan praktik untuk membuat berbagai desain seperti poster, infografis, dan materi ajar presentasi. Penilaian dilakukan dengan pre-test dan post-test yang diberikan kepada 35 guru peserta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan skor rata-rata yang signifikan dari 53,43 pada pre-test menjadi 81,57 pada post-test. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan terstruktur dapat meningkatkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan guru secara signifikan. Selain peningkatan kognitif, peserta juga menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi dan menyatakan keinginan untuk mengintegrasikan Canva ke dalam proses pembelajaran. Disarankan agar pelatihan ini diulang di sekolah lain sebagai bagian dari strategi untuk meningkatkan literasi digital para pendidik.

Abstract

Pengabdian dengan judul sosialisasi etika, pengaruh dan dampak penggunaan penggunaan media sosial pada kelompok siswa SMK 3 Takalar bertujuan (1) pemahaman siswa terhadap etika digital serta  prinsip – prinsip etika dalam berinteraksi di media sosial, (2) memerikan pemahaman tentang kesadaran terhadap dampak negatif media sosial seperti cyberbullying, kecanduan media sosial, penurunan prestasi belajar, serta potensi terpapar konten negatif, (3) Melaksanakan kegiatan pembinaan atau sosial terkait etika digital di sekolah. Metode pelaksanan yang digunakan adalah berbentuk sosialisasi dengan melakukan persentase, tanya jawab dan evaluasi, kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama 1 hari dengan kehadiran 34 siswa/i. Beradasarkan kegiatan yang dilaksanakan  maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Tahapan- Tahapan yang telah dilaksanakan mulai dari perencanaan, persiapan, pelatihan hingga tahap evaluasi dari hasil pelatihan terlaksana dengan baik, tidak hanya itu, motivasi dan antusias kehadiran peserta pelatihan diperoleh kehadiran sebsear 100% dari target peserta, peserta sebanyak 34 orang dalam pertemuan fokus menyimak dalam pemberian materi. sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian di SMK 3 Takalar dikategorikan berhasil dan memberikan hasil memuaskan sesuai dengan target capaian pada indikator antara kesesuaian perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan hasil evaluasi. hasil evaluasi pada peserta pelatihan memberikanhasil bahwa peserta pelatihan telah mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan etika, ketrampilan penggunaan sosial media dengan bijak.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan efektivitas pengelolaan waktu mahasiswa mentor melalui pelatihan berbasis analisis kebutuhan lapangan, mengintegrasikan pendekatan Eisenhower Matrix dan Teknik Pomodoro. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi survei awal, workshop interaktif, implementasi dalam skenario mentoring nyata, evaluasi kuantitatif dan kualitatif, serta pendampingan lanjutan. Temuan utama menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep manajemen waktu dan kemampuan membedakan tugas penting-mendesak pasca-pelatihan. Meskipun demikian, masih ditemukan kesenjangan antara pemahaman dan konsistensi penerapan teknik dalam praktik sehari-hari, diperparah oleh tantangan mood dan beban organisasi. Pemanfaatan teknologi digital dalam manajemen waktu juga belum optimal. Pelatihan ini berkontribusi pada pemahaman bahwa efektivitas manajemen waktu tidak hanya bergantung pada pengetahuan teknis, tetapi juga pada kemampuan internalisasi dan adaptasi. Secara praktis, diperlukan pendampingan berkelanjutan untuk membentuk kebiasaan. Secara teoretis, hasil ini mendukung pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman. Disarankan untuk pengabdian selanjutnya adalah mentoring the mentors dan evaluasi dampak jangka panjang untuk memperkuat keberlanjutan praktik.

Abstract

The workforce's demand for critical thinking and innovation highlights the need to improve students' problem-solving skills, thus encouraging educational institutions to adopt technology-based strategies for an engaging learning environment. Previous studies have explored the relationship between learning motivation and academic outcomes and the role of technology and web-based media in improving problem-solving skills. However, limited research has comprehensively examined the interaction between computational thinking, technology integration, learning motivation, and student performance. This study aims to examine how Computational Thinking (CT) and Technology Integration (TI) influence Learning Motivation (LM) and Student Performance (SP), providing insights into optimizing digital skills for academic success in the digital age. Data were collected from 426 respondents' university students in Indonesia randomly. A questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale consisting of several variables such as Computational Thinking, Technology Integration, Learning Motivation, and Student Performance were used in this study. Then, the data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to check the measurement and assessment model. The results showed that CT and TI positively and significantly impacted LM and SP. In addition, LM serves as an important mediator, strengthening the influence of CT and IT on academic outcomes. Specifically, technology integration has a greater impact on LM than CT, while LM significantly improves SP. This study presents a detailed framework for educators to enhance learning experiences by integrating digital skills and fostering student motivation. The findings offer practical implications for developing effective educational strategies that meet the changing demands of the digital age. Future research is recommended to investigate the long-term effects of CT and IT in various educational environments.

Abstract

Vocational High School (SMK) graduates in Indonesia face the problem of competency mismatch with the needs of the world of work, reflected in the high open unemployment rate of 9.42% (BPS, 2023). The community service program at SMKN 5 Barru aims to increase the capacity of teachers and students by utilizing the VocationalFive 4.0 portal based on Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR). A participatory action research approach was used, including needs identification, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The results showed improved skills with an average post-test score of 85.17 and increased teacher confidence in using AR/VR. The portal was also rated as relevant for publication of work, alumni tracking, and career navigation. The findings confirm the importance of digital technology integration in vocational education, which can create interactive learning and align with industry needs. This program has the potential to become a model for developing AR/VR-based learning with an alumni tracer system.

Abstract

Students’ understanding of network virtualization concepts in Computer Network courses remains limited, particularly in institutions with restricted access to advanced practical facilities. This study aims to analyze students’ comprehension of network virtualization and its relationship with learning experiences, technical skills, and perceptions of simulation tools. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted with 202 students who had completed the Computer Network course and gained experience using Cisco Packet Tracer. The questionnaire was validated through expert judgment and construct validity testing via Exploratory Factor Analysis, and its reliability was confirmed. Findings indicate that four dimensions conceptual understanding, learning experience, technical skills, and perception of simulation tools consistently form a framework explaining students’ understanding of virtualization. Correlation analysis revealed that technical skills exert the strongest influence, while learning experiences and perceptions contribute additional support to conceptual comprehension. These results highlight the importance of integrating simulation media such as Cisco Packet Tracer into Computer Network courses, not only as a means of developing practical skills but also as a strategy to enhance students’ conceptual grasp of virtualization technologies increasingly demanded in the digital industry. This study contributes to the literature by emphasizing the cognitive dimension of simulation-based learning, an aspect often overlooked in prior research that mainly focused on technical performance.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat dalam memperoleh layanan jasa montir adalah kesulitan dalam menemukan montir yang terpercaya, terutama saat berada di lokasi baru atau dalam kondisi darurat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sistem informasi GoMontir berbasis web yang dapat memberikan kemudahan, kenyamanan, dan efisiensi bagi pengguna dalam mengakses layanan montir secara daring. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini mencakup studi literatur, wawancara, observasi langsung, dan dokumentasi guna memperoleh data yang relevan dalam proses perancangan sistem. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem informasi GoMontir terdiri atas sejumlah modul yang meliputi registrasi pengguna, autentikasi (login), pemesanan layanan, pemanggilan darurat, serta fitur pembayaran, yang dirancang dengan antarmuka pengguna yang intuitif dan responsif. Selain itu, sistem juga menghasilkan keluaran berupa laporan data pelanggan, riwayat transaksi, serta catatan layanan darurat yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan evaluasi dan pengambilan keputusan. Implementasi sistem ini diharapkan dapat mendukung digitalisasi layanan jasa montir serta meningkatkan mutu pelayanan melalui akses informasi yang cepat, akurat, dan terpercaya.
