Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh kebutuhan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika, khususnya pada konsep lingkaran, yang sering kali dianggap sulit oleh siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan lintasan belajar yang efektif dengan desain pembelajaran berbasis strategi metakognitif yang berorientasi pada keterampilan berpikir kritis, menggunakan model discovery learning pada materi lingkaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian desain, dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII sekolah SMP IT Madani Aceh Tenggara.Dalam penelitian ini, lintasan belajar dirancang dengan melibatkan langkah-langkah strategis yang mendorong siswa untuk aktif dalam proses eksplorasi dan penemuan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes, dan wawancara untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas penerapan lintasan belajar tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi metakognitif dalam model discovery learning dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa secara signifikan. Temuan ini menyiratkan pentingnya integrasi strategi metakognitif dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk membantu siswa memahami konsep secara lebih mendalam dan menerapkannya dalam situasi nyata.Dengan demikian, penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan metode pembelajaran yang inovatif dan efektif, serta rekomendasi bagi pendidik untuk menerapkan strategi metakognitif dalam pembelajaran matematika guna meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan lintasan belajar berbasis model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam rangka membantu siswa kelas IX SMP menemukan rumus luas permukaan tabung. Pendekatan design research digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan tahapan preparation phase, design phase, dan retrospective analysis. Subjek penelitian melibatkan 32 siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 4 Tanjungbalai. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, tes, dan analisis dokumen. Lintasan belajar yang dikembangkan berfokus pada pemberian masalah kontekstual yang relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, seperti menghitung luas permukaan tabung pada kaleng atau wadah tertentu. Proses pembelajaran dimulai dengan eksplorasi masalah menggunakan LKPD dan peralatan yang sudah di bawa dari rumah, seperti toples atau wadah yang berbentuk tabung,kertas origami, penggaris, pensil dan alat tulis lainnya, dilanjutkan dengan diskusi kelompok untuk memecahkan masalah yang ada pada LKPD, dan diakhiri dengan presentasi hasil oleh setiap kelompok. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual siswa terhadap konsep geometri, khususnya luas permukaan tabung. Siswa mampu mengonstruksi pemahaman dengan mengidentifikasi elemen tabung, seperti jari-jari, diameter, dan tinggi, serta mengintegrasikan konsep lingkaran untuk menemukan rumus luas permukaan. Hasil analisis retrospektif menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan PBL memfasilitasi proses berpikir kritis, kolaborasi, dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan kemampuan untuk mengaitkan konsep yang dipelajari dengan situasi nyata, sehingga pembelajaran menjadi lebih bermakna. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan model pembelajaran PBL dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk materi geometri sebagai alternatif inovatif yang mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam proses belajar.

Abstract

This research aims to develop HOTS- and TPACK-based learning devices for parabola material and to evaluate their validity, effectiveness, and student responses. Using a development research design, the study adopted the Thiagarajan 4-D model, which includes the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The products developed consisted of a lesson plan (RPP), student worksheets (LKPD), and a HOTS-based assessment instrument. Validation by experts indicated that the learning devices met the criteria for validity, with average scores of 4.34 for the lesson plan, 4.24 for the student worksheet, and 4.17 for the HOTS assessment. The effectiveness of the learning devices was examined through two implementation trials with Grade XI students at SMK YPT Pangkalan Brandan. Results showed that 90.4% of students achieved mastery in Trial II, with learning objectives met for each item (84.76% and 84.29%). Student responses were highly positive, reaching 94%, and the learning time did not exceed the school’s standard duration. Improvement in HOTS abilities was also evident, increasing from 52.4% mastery in Trial I to 90.4% in Trial II. Overall, the findings demonstrate that the developed HOTS- and TPACK-based learning devices are valid, effective, and well-received by students. These learning tools can be used to enhance mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and higher-order thinking in parabola instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a mathematical assessment instrument for senior high school students based on higher order thinking skills (HOTS). This research is development research that aims to develop a valid, practical and effective HOTS assessment instrument. The development model used is the Tessmer’s model. There are five steps applied in this study, namely preliminary, self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one and small group and field testing.  The research findings explained that each item met the validity of content (content), construct, and language. Content validity is the compatibility between the questions and the indicators that have been set for each material. Fulfilling construct validity refers to the instrument measured by the HOTS concept. It met the validity of the language because the sentence structure in the question followed the correct Indonesian language rules and did not contain double meanings or ambiguity. Therefore, this item is appropriate to be used as an alternative teaching material for students to develop their higher-order thinking skills, especially in the material about flat-plane analytical geometry.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi matematika dasar siswa sekolah dasar serta memperkuat daya saing usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) di Desa Pematang Johar. Program dilaksanakan oleh mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara melalui dua fokus utama, yaitu bidang pendidikan dan ekonomi kreatif. Pada bidang pendidikan, kegiatan dilakukan melalui bimbingan belajar dan penerapan Media Papan Perkalian (MedPen PaPer) sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran interaktif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep perkalian dan motivasi belajar siswa. Pada bidang ekonomi, kegiatan difokuskan pada pemberian media promosi berupa spanduk kepada UMKM Keripik Singkong Al-Amin sebagai upaya penguatan branding dan peningkatan visibilitas produk lokal. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahap observasi, perancangan media, implementasi kegiatan, serta evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan antusiasme dan pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika, serta meningkatnya daya tarik dan pengenalan produk UMKM di masyarakat sekitar. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa sinergi antara pendidikan dan pemberdayaan ekonomi lokal dapat memberikan dampak positif yang berkelanjutan bagi masyarakat desa.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of assessment and evaluation of mathematics learning outcomes in spatial geometry material in the Merdeka Curriculum at SMA Negeri 1 Girsang Sipangan Bolon. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that teachers have implemented formative assessment, practical assessment, and context-based assignments. However, authentic assessment has not been implemented consistently, and assessment instruments still tend to focus on students' procedural abilities, so that contextual abilities have not been optimally explored. The main obstacles in the implementation of assessment include limited learning time, the administrative burden on teachers, and teachers' skills in developing and using assessment rubrics. This study concludes that the implementation of assessment on spatial geometry material has been in line with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum, but it still requires improvement in teacher competence and institutional support from the school so that assessment can be carried out more optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the problems and evaluate the implementation of the curriculum in mathematics learning at Deli Murni Bandar Baru Junior High School. The research used a qualitative descriptive approach with mathematics teachers and related parties at the school as the research subjects. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation of the learning process in the classroom, and analysis of curriculum documents and teaching tools, such as teaching modules and assessment instruments. The data obtained were analysed using qualitative analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of the curriculum was quite good in terms of planning, as demonstrated by the teachers' ability to develop teaching tools in accordance with the curriculum requirements. However, the implementation of learning and evaluation was not yet optimal. Teachers still tended to use conventional learning methods and had difficulty in implementing authentic assessment. These findings emphasised the need to improve teacher competence through continuous training so that the implementation of the curriculum could be carried out more effectively and have an impact on improving the quality of mathematics learning

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Understanding by Design (UbD) as a framework for the Merdeka Curriculum at Santo Thomas 1 High School in Medan. This study uses a descriptive approach with a mixed qualitative and quantitative design. Research data were collected through interviews with teachers, observations of teaching and learning activities, analysis of teaching materials, and measurement of teachers' perceptions using a Likert scale questionnaire. Qualitative data were analysed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while quantitative data were analysed descriptively to determine the categories of UbD implementation levels. The results showed that UbD implementation was in the good category, especially in the planning and formulation of learning outcomes stages. However, the learning implementation and assessment stages still needed improvement because they were not fully consistent with the backward design principle. Overall, UbD played an important role in strengthening the quality of learning planning in the Merdeka Curriculum, but further assistance was still needed to optimise its application in all stages of learning.
