Abstract

Since the outbreak of Covid-19, many countries have decided to adopt strict health regulations and implement working from home as part of the telecommuting scheme. In the midst of the pandemic, the working world underwent a significant transformation. Flexibility and balance between work and personal life became a top priority, especially for Generation Z employees. Generation Z has entered productive age and started joining the workforce. The digital technology environment that accompanies their growth makes Gen Z have various advantages. However, this generation also faces new challenges. Gen Z frequently switches workplaces even within months. At the same time, hybrid working emerged as a work model considered to provide comfort. The lack of social interaction and direct collaboration in this system poses challenges because it can lead to decreased team harmony. The implementation of hybrid working requires greater attention from companies to maintain Generation Z’s loyalty. If companies are unable to adjust their work systems to the need for flexibility and psychological support, they are likely to lose young potential talents. The world of work is now required to adapt to the expectations and characteristics of the new workforce, especially Generation Z, who are starting to dominate the labor market. Failure to adjust the work environment to their preferences can result in a high turnover rate.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of product quality, availability, and innovation on consumer purchasing decisions at PT Sri Indah Mandiri Batam, a leading construction material distributor facing issues in product returns, limited stock readiness, and insufficient innovation. The research aims to determine the extent to which each of these three variables affects purchase decisions. Employing a quantitative descriptive method, the study involved 172 respondents selected from a population of 301 using simple random sampling and the Slovin formula. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS 26. The analysis included validity and reliability tests, classical assumption testing, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing. The results revealed that product quality, availability, and innovation significantly and positively influence purchasing decisions both partially and simultaneously. The standardized coefficients indicate that availability (34.2%) had the highest impact, followed by product quality (26.7%) and innovation (20.1%). The model's adjusted R² value of 0.739 suggests that these three variables explain 73.9% of the variance in consumer purchase decisions. Abstract

In the increasingly competitive motorcycle industry, companies face the challenge of optimizing product appeal to influence consumer purchasing decisions. This study aims to examine the effect of product quality, brand image, and promotion on consumer purchasing decisions for Yamaha motorcycles in Batam City. Using a descriptive quantitative method, the study collected data from 100 respondents who had purchased Yamaha motorcycles, selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis included validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing using SPSS version 26. The results show that product quality, brand image, and promotion each have a positive and significant impact on purchasing decisions. Specifically, product quality contributes 25.2%, brand image contributes 17.3%, and promotion contributes 45.3% to the variance in purchasing decisions. The overall model explains 86.2% of the variance (Adjusted R² = 0.862), indicating that these three factors are dominant drivers in consumer decision-making. The findings suggest that enhancing product quality, strengthening brand perception, and implementing adaptive promotional strategies are essential for improving consumer purchase behavior in the two-wheeler market, particularly for Yamaha in urban areas such as Batam.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital platforms has significantly influenced consumer behavior, particularly in the beauty industry. However, inconsistencies in product quality and customer trust have raised concerns regarding online purchasing decisions. This study aims to examine the influence of word of mouth, product quality, and consumer trust on purchasing decisions for Pixy cushion products via the TikTok Shop in Batam City. A quantitative method with a descriptive approach was applied. Data were collected from 100 respondents selected using purposive sampling criteria and analyzed using SPSS version 26. The research instruments passed both validity and reliability tests. The analysis included classical assumption testing, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing through t-tests and F-tests. The results indicate that all three independent variables word of mouth, product quality, and consumer trust have a positive and statistically significant effect on consumer purchasing decisions, both individually and collectively. The adjusted R² value of 0.805 suggests that 80.5% of the variation in purchasing decisions is explained by the three predictors. Among them, consumer trust had the highest standardized coefficient (β = 0.433), followed by product quality (β = 0.353) and word of mouth (β = 0.225). These findings highlight the strategic importance of maintaining product credibility and fostering consumer trust in the social commerce ecosystem.
