Abstract

Hypercholesterolemia is a condition in which cholesterol levels in the blood are more than normal. Europe and America are the regions with the highest hypercholesterolemia in the world with prevalence values ​​of 54% and 48%, respectively. Meanwhile, Africa and Southeast Asia are regions with the lowest prevalence of hypercholesterolemia with prevalence values ​​of 23% and 30%, respectively. In Indonesia, the age group of 25 - 34 years has the highest rank with high cholesterol levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lowering total cholesterol in male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) induced with Propylthiouracil (PTU). In this study, we used 25 rats which were divided into 5 groups equally. The groups were a negative control group (Na-CMC), a positive control group (Simvastatin), and three extract groups with doses of 500 mg/kgBW, 750 mg/kgBW, and 900 mg/kgBW. We made the ethanol extract of the bark of the Mangkokan stem by maceration. We induced all mice used in the study orally using a high-fat diet and PTU. In this study, the parameters that we studied were total cholesterol levels before induction, after induction, and after treatment. From this study, we found that all groups showed significant changes in total cholesterol levels (P value = 0.000). The group that was given ethanol extract at doses of 500 and 750 mg/kgBW showed a significant difference between the negative control group and the positive control group. Only the 900 mg/kgBW dose group showed no significant difference in total cholesterol levels with the positive control group. Thus, we can conclude that the ethanolic extract of the bark of the Mangkokan stem has the potential to reduce total cholesterol levels but is not as good as the positive control. Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of garlic bulbs on alloxan-induced blood glucose levels in mice. The method used is an actual experimental pretest-posttest control group design. The study revealed that garlic extract could reduce blood glucose levels in mice (p 0.05). The most doses of garlic extract that reduced blood glucose levels in diabetic mice were 6 mg/200 g BW and 12 mg/200 g BW. In conclusion, garlic extract significantly reduced blood glucose levels in diabetic mice when administered at 6 mg/200 g BW and 12 mg/200 g BW. Keywords: Allin, Allisin, Anti Diabetes, Garlic

Abstract

The problem of stunting is a disturbance in the growth of a child's height or body length, where the height growth does not match with increasing age, which is also an abnormal condition of the body caused by more than one factor (multifactor). So this re-search discusses many things, including analyzing the influence of clean water access, latrine access, hand washing behavior with soap (CTPS), history of exclusive breastfeed-ing and MP-ASI on the growth and development of toddlers aged 24-59 months. This research used a cross sectional study design. The research was conducted in March-April 2020. Respondents were 118 children under five (aged 24-59 months) who lived in Og-an Ilir. The selection of respondents was taken using a simple random sampling tech-nique. Stunting, a condition characterized by impaired growth and development in chil-dren due to poor nutrition, recurrent infections, and inadequate psychosocial stimulation, is a significant public health problem. Statistical analysis was carried out to identify cor-relations and potential causal relationships between these variables and the incidence of stunting. The results show that low socio-economic status and maternal education are significantly related to high stunting rates. Inadequate food intake and poor sanitation practices are also important factors. Frequent infections, especially gastrointestinal dis-eases, are known to worsen the risk of stunting in toddlers.The study concludes that a multifaceted approach is needed to address stunting, involving improved economic con-ditions, educational initiatives for mothers, improved nutrition programs, better access to health services, and improved sanitation facilities. These findings highlight the im-portance of integrated public health strategies to reduce stunting and improve the wel-fare of children in South Nias District. Further research is recommended to explore long-term interventions and their effectiveness in various settings.

Abstract

Kinerja pegawai adalah hasil kerja yang dicapai seseorang dalam melaksanakan tugas-tugas yang diberikan kepadanya untuk mencapai target kerja. Kepuasan kerja sangat penting bagi perusahaan dan karyawan karena dapat dilihat dari hasil pekerjaan mereka, apakah mereka merasa puas dengan atasan mereka, dan kinerja mereka yang terus meningkat menunjukkan kepuasan kerja mereka. Karena ada kepuasan tersendiri di dalam diri seseorang, kepuasan pekerjaan dapat menimbulkan kesenangan dan mendorong mereka untuk bekerja lebih rajin Salah satu hal terpenting yang harus dimiliki seseorang saat bekerja adalah merasa puas dengan pekerjaan mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis pengaruh faktor intrinsik dan ekstrinsik terhadap kepuasan kerja pekerja di Rumah Sakit Khusus Mata Prima Vision. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian analitik observasional dengan studi desain cross-sectional, Variabel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari variabel dependen seperti faktor intrinsik dan ekstrinsik dan variable independen yaitu kepuasan kerja pekerja. Populasi yang yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pekerja di Rumah Sakit Khusus Mata Prima Vision. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah Total sampling yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi diperoleh 60 responden. Uji chi square dipakai untuk uji analisis data statistik didapati hasil Terdapat Pengaruh Faktor Intrinsik dan Ekstrinsik Terhadap Kepuasan Kerja Pekerja Di Rumah Sakit Khusus Mata Prima Vision.

Abstract

The implementation of occupational health and safety programs in hospitals aims to improve access, affordability, and quality of safe health services in hospitals. While some hospitals have implemented Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems (OSHMS), their effectiveness varies. This study aimed to examine and evaluate the effectiveness of OSHMS implementation in Hospital X. This qualitative research used a case study design. A purposive sampling technique was used in this study. The research informants selected included an OSH Committee Team of three people and seven hospital employees. This study used a combination of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation methods to obtain comprehensive data on the implementation of OSHMS. Data analysis was conducted through a series of systematic steps, starting with the transcription of observation and interview results in textual form. The coded data were analyzed to identify patterns, meanings, and relationships between themes. Themes were analyzed deductively, focusing on policy, responsibility, and authority to act, and the review and evaluation of OSHMS. The results of this analysis were interpreted by the researcher and linked to the research context and relevant theories, resulting in useful and meaningful findings. The results showed that the hospital demonstrated a commitment to OSH through comprehensive policies and implementation efforts. However, there are still some shortcomings in terms of the person in charge of the OSH in the work unit, as well as review and evaluation mechanisms. Improvements in these aspects can help to increase the effectiveness of OSHMS implementation in hospitals.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of increasing nurses' work in preventing and controlling infections with an employee engagement approach. The research method used a cross-sectional study. The study's results were that there was an effect of the employee engagement approach on the aspect of nurse capacity on improving the quality of nurse work in preventing and controlling infections in Medan City Private Hospitals with a p significance value of 0.000 <0.05. There was an effect of the employee engagement approach on nurse motivation in improving the quality of nurse work in preventing and controlling infections with a p-significance p-value of 0.000 <0.05. There was an effect of the employee engagement approach on nurse freedom in improving the quality of nurse work in preventing and controlling infections with a p-significance value of 0.000 <0.05. In conclusion, there was a significant influence between the capacity, motivation, and freedom of nurses on improving the quality of nurse work in preventing and controlling infections in Medan City Private Hospitals. Abstract

Queues arise due to the need for services exceeding the capacity of services or service facilities so that users of facilities cannot immediately get services due to busy services. Very long queues and taking too long to get a turn for service are very dissatisfying for patients with the Self-Registration Kiosk (ADM) method at Batugana Health Center aims to maximize the outpatient registration process in order to create easy, fast and comfortable services for patients. However, in its implementation there are still many elderly people who do not understand its use and sometimes there are problems with the system, thus slowing down the service process at Batugana Health Center. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the use of the Self-Registration Kiosk Method (ADM) at Batugana Health Center. The method in this study is qualitative analytic. The sample in this study consisted of 4 informants including: Head of the Health Center, Head of the Self-Registration Kiosk Division, Self-Registration Kiosk Officers and Outpatients. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with informants, then the data was analyzed by data reduction through Data Triangulation and sources, then displayed in narrative form. The results of the study showed that there was an influence of human resources, SOPs and facilities and infrastructure on the use of the Self-Registration Kiosk (ADM) method at Batugana Health Center on the evaluation of the effectiveness of the use of the Self-Registration Kiosk (ADM) Method at Batugana Health Center., has not fully implemented the use of APM effectively because the expected results have not been in accordance, namely creating fast service. At Batugana Health Center, the efforts that will be made are to re-evaluate the performance of officers on APM, determine officers who really understand the APM machine. And what will be done is to create an SOP on the use of the APM machine, check the function of the APM machine, add internet quality and add electric generators.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Kepuasan pasien merupakan salah satu cara mengukur kualitas pelayanan yang diberikan oleh tenaga kesehatan. Untuk meningkatkan keinginan pasien melakukan kunjungan ke Puskesmas sangat bergantung pada kualitas layanan yang diterima oleh pasien. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kualitas pelayanan terhadap kepuasan pasien.Metode: Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross-sectional. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Puskesmas Sampoiniet Tahun 2023. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh pasien yang berkunjung di Puskesmas Sampoiniet Tahun 2023. Sampel diperoleh sebanyak 100 orang dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada pasien. Analisis data penelitian menggunakan uji Chi Square dan regresi logistik.Hasil: Sebanyak 36% pasien tidak puas terhadap pelayanan yang diberikan oleh tenanga kesehatan. Kehandalan (p = <0,001), ketanggapan (p = <0,001), empati (p = <0,001) dan sarana prasarana (p = <0,001) signifikan terhadap kepuasan pasien. Sedangkan variabel jaminan tidak signifikan terhadap kepuasan pasien (0,594).Kesimpulan: Kehandalan, ketanggapan, empati dan sarana prasarana yang tidak baik signifikan terhadap kepuasan pasien

Abstract

Bone, as an important organ in the body, has a fundamental role in supporting biomechanical functions, carrying out the hematopoiesis process, and maintaining calcium homeostasis. The cellular components of bone involve various types of cells, including osteogenic precursor cells, osteoblasts, osteoclasts, osteocytes, and hematopoietic elements from the bone marrow. Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin that plays an important role in the formation of collagen, skin, tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, as well as in wound healing and maintenance of cartilage, bones, and teeth. This study aims to analysed mean value and difference in the number of osteoblast cells in the femur of rats exposed to alcohol between groups receiving vitamin C. Based on the results of the One Way ANOVA test, the p value = 0.018 <0.05 was obtained, which indicated a significant difference in the average osteoblasts between groups. Furthermore, in the Post Hoc test, a difference in the mean osteoblasts was found between groups T3 and T5 with a p value = 0.029 < 0.05 and between groups T4 and T5 with a p value = 0.044 < 0.05. Conclusion: Administration of vitamin C can affect the increase in the number of osteoblast cells in the bone healing process in mice exposed to alcohol.

Abstract

Quality of health care refers to service excellence in meeting patient expectations and providing satisfaction. Quality service is essential because it is every customer's right and allows healthcare providers to compete. The quality of service and the value provided directly impact customer satisfaction. The quality of service they receive influences customer satisfaction, which affects the hospital's reputation and competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the quality of health services and their effect on patient satisfaction at RSU Vina Estetica. This study was conducted at RSU Vina Estetica, Medan City. The study population was all patients at RSU Vina Estetica, Medan City. The sampling technique was accidental sampling with a sample size of 306 respondents. The research method used was quantitative. This study is based on primary data obtained through questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used in this study are univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis using SPSS. Based on the study's results, it is known that reliability, responsiveness, and empathy influence patient satisfaction. The variables of physical evidence and assurance do not affect patient satisfaction. The most dominant factor influencing patient satisfaction is the variable of reliability.
