Abstract

Background: Pneumonia is a type of Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) that has been a cause of death for 740,180 children under 5 years old in 2019, constituting 14% of total deaths in children under five, but reaching 22% of all deaths in children aged 1 to 5 years. The objective of this study is to analyze the implementation of the pneumonia management program at Paal V Health Center in Jambi City. Method: This study uses a qualitative research approach with an analytical design, gathering data through a survey of health workers conducted by the author at Paal V Health Center in Jambi City. Research informantts consist of 8 key informantts, including 1 Program Coordinator for Pneumonia at Paal V Health Center, 1 Head of Paal V Health Center, 2 implementing officers, and 4 mothers of children with pneumonia. Results: The research findings indicate that Paal V Health Center has two health workers, which is inadequate for managing pneumonia cases. Infrastructure is not up to standard, primarily due to the absence of nebulization equipment. Planning and program implementation are generally good with counseling and record-keeping, but there are shortcomings in providing written information to mothers about follow-up appointment schedules. Regular monitoring and evaluation are conducted by health workers and the head of the health center. Conclusion: The management of pneumonia cases at Paal V Health Center is suboptimal due to limited healthcare personnel and equipment. With additional resources and improved communication, pneumonia management can become more effective and efficient.

Abstract

Optimal early childhood growth and development will determine their health status in the future. Implementing Integrative Holistic Early Childhood Education (PAUD-HI) is an effort to optimize children's growth and development by paying attention to various children's characteristics. Apart from that, implementing balance diet in early childhood is expected to be able to establish optimal nutritional status in children. PAUD Group 2 Bungo Selango, located in Sungai Gelam District, Muaro Jambi Regency, has not implemented PAUD-HI optimally due to various risk factors. Kindergarten teachers have never received early childhood balance diet education. This community service activity aimed to optimize the implementation of PAUD-HI and implement balance diet in PAUD Group 2 Bungo Selango. In this community service activity, they are given health education and demonstrations related to the application of balance diet in holistic and integrative kindergarten learning. The results of community service activities showed that there is an increase in target’s knowledge before and after being given education which is not significantly different (Sig.>0.05). It is necessary to get used to implementing balance diet (consuming variety of foods, physical activity, clean and healthy lifestyle, and controlling ideal body weight) in holistic and integrative kindergarten learning.

Abstract

Hypertension and diabetes mellitus, which many elderly suffer from, are a significant problem in Indonesia because they pose a risk of serious complications and even death. At the Olak Kemang Community Health Center, the incidence of hypertension and diabetes mellitus in the elderly has increased. However, the scope of elderly people's active participation in various hypertension and diabetes mellitus management programs is still low. Based on the results of the team's research and initial observations, it is known that the main cause of this problem is a lack of family support and limited knowledge about the efforts that families must make in managing illnesses in the elderly. This situation indicates weak family functioning which has an impact on health. This community service activity aims to strengthen family functions and self-care behavior for elderly people with hypertension and diabetes mellitus in the work area of the Olak Kemang Community Health Center through the implementation of Posdaya (Family Empowerment Post). Posdaya activities include counseling about family functions, developing family skills to manage hypertension and diabetes mellitus in the elderly, as well as assisting families to be able to access various application-based health services for the elderly and families. The activity was attended by 20 elderly people and their families. The results of the activity showed that 80% of participants experienced increased knowledge. In addition, participants provided statements of attitude to improve family function and implement self-care behavior for elderly people with hypertension and diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease that is influenced by the environment and people's behavior. In Jambi City, Dengue Fever is still a public health problem. This research aims to distribute dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) incidence in Jambi City. This research uses Global Moran's analysis and Local Indicator of Spatial Association (LISA) to determine the Hot Spot and Cold Spot areas for dengue cases in Jambi City in 2018 -2022 with a sub-district analysis unit of 62 sub-districts. During 5 years of observation, the results showed that the distribution pattern of dengue fever cases was in the form of a clustered pattern (I>E[I]) in 2018-2022. The research results on the distribution of dengue fever cases from 2018-2022 showed that the lowest cases were in 2021, namely 132 cases, while the highest cases were in 2019, 698 cases. The results of this study are expected to provide an overview of the distribution of dengue fever incidence in Jambi City in 2018 - 2022 so that it becomes a recommendation material for the Jambi City Health Office or the Jambi City Government in an overview of environmental factors related to dengue fever incidence in Jambi City to prevent various diseases due to poor environmental sanitation in Jambi City. Knowing the distribution pattern of dengue fever can determine regional priorities in implementing dengue fever prevention and control intervention programs in Jambi City.

Abstract

The incidence of chronic diseases is not comparable to the ratio of chronic disease service utilization in Jambi City. Data from BPJS Kesehatan Jambi states that Talang Banjar Health Center is a health center with the lowest achievement of the Controlled Chronic Disease Management Program Participant Ratio (RPPT) of 0.55% from ≥ 5%. It is suspected that the behavior of chronic disease sufferers influences this figure. The study aims to analyze the behavior of health service utilization by chronic disease patients in the work area of Talang Banjar Health Center, Jambi City. Quantitative research with a cross-sectional study design. The research sample was selected through the Total Sampling Technique, namely all prolanis participants who have been registered at Talang Banjar Health Center, Jambi City, totaling 75 respondents. Data analysis using the chi square test. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between Education (p = 0.049), knowledge (p = 0.000), accessibility (p = 0.043), and perception of disease (0.020) with prolanis utilization. There is no relationship between age (p = 0.254), gender (p = 0.383), occupation (p = 1.000), and health worker attitudes (p = 0.320) with the utilization of prolanis health services. It is concluded that education, knowledge, accessibility and perception of disease factors influence patient behavior in utilizing Prolanis services.
