Abstract

The issue currently faced at SMP N 3 Kota Jambi is the low level of student integrity. This is evident from frequent violations such as tardiness, truancy, and disobedience to school rules. These behaviors indicate that efforts to strengthen students' integrity have not been fully implemented. This research aims to understand how integrity character is developed through Civics Education (PPKn) at SMP N 3 Kota Jambi, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors involved. The study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The results show that the development of integrity character through PPKn learning is progressing, although challenges remain. Values such as honesty, justice, and responsibility are being taught, but not all students consistently apply them. For example, cheating and unfair treatment among peers are still common. Teachers and school leaders serve as role models, but student consistency in adopting positive behavior needs improvement. While students’ social responsibility is fairly strong, academic responsibility remains an issue, with some students often late or failing to complete assignments. Therefore, a more consistent and collaborative effort between teachers, the school, and parents is needed so that the values of integrity are not only understood but also internalized and reflected in students' daily behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the religious character values embedded in the panggih ceremony tradition within Javanese customary weddings in Sungai Merah Village, Pelawan Subdistrict, Sarolangun Regency. The panggih ceremony is a central and symbolic procession that reflects deep spiritual and cultural meanings in Javanese wedding rituals. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the panggih tradition contains several religious character values, such as gratitude to God, respect for parents, awareness of roles and responsibilities in marriage, and the spirit of mutual cooperation during the ceremony. These values not only strengthen social bonds within the community but also serve as a medium for cultural transmission and moral education in alignment with religious teachings. The study concludes that the panggih ceremony plays a dual role—not only as a cultural practice but also as a vital instrument in shaping religious character among the Javanese community in Sungai Merah Village

Abstract

Air bersih menjadi prioritas utama dalam keseharian masyarakat. Kebutuhan akan air bersih tidak hanya untuk konsumsi minum, melainkan juga kebutuhan aktivitas lainnya pada setiap rumah tangga. Untuk itu, dibutuhkan pelayanan prima dari pihak pemerintah melalui lembaga terkait dalam menjamin suplai air bersih bagi masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pelayanan pengelolaan air bersih di Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) Tirta Mayang Kota Jambi. Untuk memperoleh data, digunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi lapangan atau field research. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Selanjutnya, dianalisis data melalui teknik reduksi data, display data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Data akhir dinyatakan absah apabila telah melalui uji triangulasi data. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penyebab air PDAM menjadi kerus karena adanya kebocoran pipa, sehingga terjadi kontaminasi pada air yang didistribusikan dan terjadi pengaliran selama 24 jam, sehingga terangkat kotoran yang mengendap. Mengatasi hal tersebut, pihak PDAM melakukan intake building, water treatment plant, dan reservoir system. Lebih lanjut, PDAM Tirta Mayang Kota Jambi juga kerap melakukan pengecekan lokasi dan memastikan sumber air terjamin kebersihannya, kemudian pada musim kemarau dilakukan pengerukan sedimentasi di sekitar mulut sadap intake. Begitupun, pihak PDAM mengakui bahwa saat ini masih ada wilayah yang terjangkau, meliputi wilayah pengembangan perumahan di sebagian Kecamatan Alam Barajo dan Kecamatan Paal Merah. Adapun alternatif yang diupayakan pihak PDAM ialah membangun booster pump dan melakukan rekayasa jaringan perpipaan, sehingga masyarakat juga dapat menikmati air bersih.

Abstract

Karakter generasi muda yang melek teknologi membuat mereka cepat menerima informasi, namun rentan terhadap hoaks dan disinformasi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa pemilih pemula terhadap peran media sosial TikTok dalam komunikasi politik dan pengetahuan politik. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa TikTok berperan penting sebagai media komunikasi politik sekaligus sarana pendidikan politik bagi mahasiswa. TikTok efektif menarik perhatian melalui konten video singkat yang kreatif dan interaktif, tetapi pemahaman politik yang terbentuk masih terbatas karena rendahnya literasi digital. Pengguna aktif TikTok 1–3 jam per hari lebih terpapar isu politik, namun belum semuanya mampu berpikir kritis terhadap konten yang dikonsumsi. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah dengan pemanfaatan yang etis dan edukatif, TikTok dapat menjadi jembatan antara dunia politik dan generasi muda untuk meningkatkan kesadaran serta partisipasi politik

Abstract

Instilling discipline in schools is a strategic effort to reduce juvenile delinquency. Discipline as a character value needs to be instilled through various aspects, including punctuality, adherence to rules, accuracy in submitting assignments, and the use of good written language. However, in practice, students are still found to lack discipline, indicating that the school's role is not yet fully optimized. This study aims to describe the school's role in instilling discipline in students and identify the inhibiting factors faced at SMA Negeri 2 Bayung Lencir. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a purposive sampling technique. Informants consisted of the Vice Principal for Curriculum and the Pancasila Education teacher as the main informants, as well as several students selected according to the research needs. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the school's role in instilling discipline to reduce juvenile delinquency at SMA Negeri 2 Bayung Lencir has been implemented, but not optimally. The school has made various efforts through socialization of discipline, teacher supervision, sanctions, and integration of discipline values ​​in learning.  In conclusion, the role of schools in instilling discipline is not yet fully optimal, as the values ​​instilled through regulations, teacher role models, and supervision are not fully reflected in student behavior. Therefore, discipline still needs to be strengthened to foster an orderly school culture and contribute to reducing juvenile delinquency.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas karya ilmiah skripsi mahasiswa prodi PPKn Universitas Jambi. Berdasarkan observasi awal yang dilakukan oleh penulis kepada ketua program studi PPKn perlu diadakan peningkatan dalam penulisan skripsi kepada mahasiswa. Kegiatan penelitian dilakukan dengan tiga tahap, yakni perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Kesimpulan yang didapatkan ialah melalui kegiatan workshop dan coaching mahasiswa sudah bisa menghasilkan proposal penelitian yang memenuhi ketentuan penulisan skripsi dari Universitas Jambi. This research aims to improve the quality of thesis scientific work of Jambi University PPKn study program students. Based on initial observations made by the author to the head of the PPKn study program, there needs to be improvement in thesis writing for students. Research activities were carried out in three stages, namely planning, implementation and evaluation. Data was collected through interviews, observation and documentation. The conclusion obtained is that through workshops and coaching activities, students can produce research proposals that meet the thesis writing requirements of Jambi University.

Abstract

Dalam pengangkutan batubara dari tambang ke pelabuhan, pengangkutan batubara di Muara Jambi membantu pertumbuhan ekonomi provinsi. Namun, tingginya angka kecelakaan lalu lintas yang melibatkan truk batubara merupakan masalah besar bagi industri transportasi ini. Undang-undang seperti Perda Nomor 13 Tahun 2012 tentang Pengaturan Pengangkutan Batubara dan pembatasan jam operasional telah diberlakukan, kendala utama masih terkait dengan pengawasan dan pelaksanaannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis permasalahan transportasi batubara di wilayah Muaro Jambi, khususnya di daerah Mendalo, yang menyebabkan meningkatnya angka kecelakaan lalu lintas serta kerusakan infrastruktur jalan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi guna memperoleh pemahaman mendalam tentang kondisi sosial, infrastruktur, dan perilaku pengemudi dalam proses pengangkutan batubara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor utama penyebab kecelakaan meliputi kelalaian sopir, kondisi kendaraan yang kurang layak, kerusakan jalan, serta lemahnya penegakan hukum dan pengawasan di lapangan.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has created new opportunities in education, particularly in the development of digital learning media. One of the most innovative applications is Synthesia AI, a platform that enables the creation of animated learning videos with virtual avatars and multilingual automated narration. This study aims to implement the use of Synthesia AI in developing animated instructional videos as an effort to improve teachers’ digital literacy competence. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with several stages: needs analysis, teacher training in using Synthesia AI, video production, and evaluation through observation, questionnaires, and interviews. The results indicated that more than 85% of teachers reported increased confidence in creating digital media, 78% were able to design appropriate learning scripts for AI-based videos, and 82% successfully produced animated instructional videos that were engaging, interactive, and curriculum-oriented. Furthermore, teachers’ digital literacy competence improved in four aspects: technological literacy, information literacy, media literacy, and digital pedagogy. These findings highlight that the integration of AI can serve as a practical and innovative solution for teachers to deliver more adaptive, creative, and relevant learning experiences that meet the needs of 21st-century students.Keywords : Synthesia AI, animated instructional video, digital literacy, teachers, artificial intelligence.ABSTRAKPerkembangan teknologi kecerdasan buatan (Artificial Intelligence/AI) telah membuka peluang baru dalam dunia pendidikan, khususnya dalam pengembangan media pembelajaran digital. Salah satu aplikasi yang inovatif adalah Synthesia AI, sebuah platform yang memungkinkan pembuatan video animasi pembelajaran dengan avatar virtual dan narasi otomatis multibahasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan penggunaan Synthesia AI dalam pembuatan video pembelajaran animasi sebagai upaya meningkatkan kompetensi literasi digital guru. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan tahapan: analisis kebutuhan, pelatihan guru dalam penggunaan Synthesia AI, produksi video pembelajaran, serta evaluasi melalui observasi, angket, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 85% guru merasa lebih percaya diri dalam membuat media digital, 78% mampu menyusun naskah pembelajaran yang sesuai untuk diintegrasikan ke dalam video AI, dan 82% menghasilkan video pembelajaran animasi yang dinilai menarik, interaktif, dan sesuai kurikulum. Selain itu, kompetensi literasi digital guru meningkat pada aspek teknologi, informasi, media, dan pedagogi digital. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pemanfaatan AI dapat menjadi solusi praktis dan inovatif bagi guru untuk menghadirkan pengalaman belajar yang lebih adaptif, kreatif, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan siswa abad ke-21.Kata kunci : Synthesia AI, video pembelajaran animasi, literasi digital, guru, kecerdasan buatan

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe limited ability of teachers to utilize technology has made learning at SMA Negeri 8 Muaro Jambi less interactive and reduced student engagement. This community service activity aimed to improve teachers’ competence in developing gamification-based learning media integrated with Augmented Reality (AR) and local wisdom. The method used was participatory training carried out through five stages, namely preparation, socialization, workshops, evaluation, and mentoring. Evaluation results showed an increase in teachers’ understanding from an average score of 45.6% to 82.4%, accompanied by media products incorporating Jambi cultural elements. Classroom implementation also improved student achievement from 52% to 87%, with more than 85% of students finding the learning more engaging and interactive, and 90% of teachers expressing satisfaction. This program proved effective in enhancing teachers’ digital literacy as well as student engagement through innovative learning based on technology and local culture.Keywords: Gamification, Augmented Reality, Local Wisdom, Student Engagement ABSTRAKKeterbatasan guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi menyebabkan pembelajaran di SMA Negeri 8 Muaro Jambi kurang interaktif dan menurunkan keterlibatan siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis gamifikasi dan Augmented Reality (AR) yang terintegrasi kearifan lokal. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan partisipatif melalui dilaksanakan melalui lima tahapan, yaitu persiapan, sosialisasi, workshop, evaluasi, dan pendampingan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman guru dari skor rata-rata 45,6% menjadi 82,4%, disertai produk media yang memuat unsur budaya Jambi. Implementasi di kelas juga meningkatkan capaian siswa dari 52% menjadi 87%, dengan lebih dari 85% siswa merasa pembelajaran lebih menarik dan interaktif, serta 90% guru menyatakan puas. Program ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi digital guru sekaligus engagement siswa melalui pembelajaran inovatif berbasis teknologi dan budaya lokal.Kata Kunci: Gamifikasi, Augmented Reality, Kearifan Lokal, Engagement Siswa

Abstract

This study developed and validated an Ethno-STEAM integrated e-module to enhance students’ conservation skills using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires. Expert validation results showed average scores of 4.6 for content, 4.875 for design, and 4.5 for practitioners, categorized as “very good” (interval 4.21–5.00). These findings confirm the feasibility of the e-module in terms of content quality, presentation, language, and design without significant revisions. Implementation results demonstrated notable improvements in students’ science literacy. Prior to the intervention, students were distributed at level 1 (23.40%), level 2 (50%), and level 3 (26.60%), with no students reaching levels 4 or 5. After implementation, the distribution shifted to level 1 (7.40%), level 2 (10%), level 3 (40%), level 4 (36.70%), and level 5 (5.90%). The novelty of this research lies in integrating Ethno-STEAM with local wisdom, which not only improves science literacy but also fosters conservation values such as appreciation, pride, and care for local culture. The e-module is therefore recommended as an effective, scientific, and character-oriented medium for chemistry learning.
