Abstract

This research is motivated by the decline in nationalism among the younger generation due to globalization and the lack of innovation in character education. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of a local figure-based character education e-module as a means of improving students' nationalism. The type of research used is research and development with the ADDIE model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects involved material experts, design experts, and students as product users. Data collection was carried out through interviews, documentation, and questionnaires, with instruments in the form of validation sheets, response questionnaires, and nationalism attitude questionnaires. Data analysis used qualitative and quantitative descriptive approaches to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of the product. The results of the study indicate that the developed e-module has a very good level of feasibility in terms of material and design aspects, and received positive responses from users. In addition, the use of the e-module has been proven to significantly improve students' nationalism attitudes. The conclusion of this study confirms that the local figure-based e-module is effective as a contextual and meaningful character learning medium. The implications of this research indicate that the development of teaching materials based on character values can be an alternative strategy in strengthening educational character, while simultaneously encouraging learning that is more reflective, independent, and oriented towards strengthening national identity.

Abstract

Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran, pemahaman, serta keterampilan praktis mahasiswa dalam mengelola keselamatan kerja di lingkungan laboratorium kimia, terutama dalam penggunaan alat dan bahan kimia yang berpotensi berbahaya. Peserta pelatihan ini adalah 20 mahasiswa Pendidikan Kimia Universitas Jambi yang dilaksanakan pada 22 September 2025. Metode yang diterapkan dalam pelatihan pada kegiatan ini mencakup presentasi mengenai peningkatan keselamatan kerja di laboratorium kimia melalui pelatihan penggunaan alat dan bahan. Kegiatan pelatihan terdiri dari dua tahap pemaparan materi, tahap pertama penyampaian materi keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3) laboratorium yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman mahasiswa tentang prinsip dasar K3 di laboratorium. Kegiatan pelatihan ini meliputi identifikasi bahaya di laboratorium, prinsip dasar keselamatan kerja, pengenalan simbol bahaya bahan kimia dan MSDS, penggunaan Alat Pelindung Diri (APD) secara benar, protokol kedaruratan dan penanganan kecelakaan ringan, sedangkan untuk tahap kedua dilakukan pemaparan materi tentang penggunaan alat laboratorium secara tepat dan aman yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan alat laboratorium sesuai SOP dan mencegah kerusakan atau kecelakaan. Kegiatan peningkatan keselamatan kerja di laboratorium kimia melalui pelatihan penggunaan alat dan bahan berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesadaran peserta terhadap pentingnya penerapan prinsip K3 di laboratorium.

Abstract

Environmental problems, including waste, are a continuing issue facing the community. The community service activity was motivated by the fact that many residents still litter, visible trash on the streets, and the lack of trash disposal sites on village streets. The community service activity aims to increase the understanding and skills of youth from the Karang Taruna of Mendalo Indah Village in preserving the environment by providing capacity-building training through environmental literacy classes and encouraging concrete actions to protect the environment. The activity was carried out through planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results of the community service were the implementation of ecopedagogical capacity-building activities through environmental literacy classes and concrete actions to clean the environment. The training results from the pre-test and post-test showed that 80% of participants understood the religious, socio-cultural, and social environments. In addition, the concrete action activity was attended by youth from Mendalo Indah Village with a cleaning point at the Valencia Housing Complex. The objectives of this activity are to develop and strengthen the environmental care character of youth from Mendalo Indah Village, so that in the future, there will be many programs to maintain the village environment free from waste.
