Abstract

Abstract: Preliminary observations before this activity began showed that the learning activity was still centred on the lecturer. The learning activities are still using conventional models with lecture methods. So, there's no variation in the delivery of material and the practice of matters. Furthermore, the student's understanding of the primary material of trigonometry is still not at the maximum. At the same time, such an ability is required of the student to pass the materials at the next level, which is more abstract. The objectives of this study are (1) to guide students in improving their understanding of the basic concepts of trigonometry; and (2) to improve students' mathematical abilities so that it is easier to learn other mathematics concepts than abstract concepts. This activity is carried out in three stages: (1) pre-activity, observation to find problems and continued finding solutions; (2) support; and (3) which is conducting an evaluation immediately after support is completed. Results show that 80% of students, or about 12 out of 15 students, have improved their understanding of the basic concepts of trigonometry. Only in the other three students was the improvement in understanding the basic concepts of trigonometry not very significant, so there was no apparent change.

Abstract

Numeracy is the ability to understand and use numbers and mathematical concepts in everyday life. Santri in An Nahdhoh may have problems with their numeracy skills due to various factors, including limited access to quality educational resources, traditional teaching methods that may not effectively foster understanding of mathematics, potential curriculum priorities that prioritize religious education over mathematics, language barriers, and a lack of tailored support for individual skills gaps. Students' willingness to learn numeracy skills can also be influenced by socio-economic limitations and cultural attitudes in the Santri community. Therefore, this service research aims to provide comprehensive guidance, especially to An-Nahdhah, which in the end can improve numeracy results among students. This initiative involves the participation of 25 students. This research is quantitative in nature with data analysis techniques using the t-test. Community service is important and relevant in several ways, including increasing numeracy literacy, application of religion, daily living skills, developing analytical skills, preparation for further education, increasing competitiveness, and introducing technology. This community service includes the following stages: preparation, assessment, implementation and evaluation. An-Nahdlah's numeracy support program for undocumented children offers several great benefits, particularly in helping

Abstract

Test-Based National Selection demands students' readiness not only in material mastery, but also in critical thinking skills and high-level problem solving. Tutoring institutions have become a popular choice to improve students' readiness to face the selection, but evaluating students' readiness objectively and adaptively is still a challenge. This research develops a decision support system model based on Mamdani type fuzzy inference system to evaluate students' readiness for Test-Based National Selection. Two main indicators are used as linguistic input variables, namely study frequency and try out results. The modeling process is carried out qualitatively with the stages of fuzzification, IF-THEN rule base formulation, Mamdani inference, and defuzzification using the centroid method. Data is processed with the help of Microsoft Excel as a fuzzy logic processing tool. The results of the implementation on 30 students showed that the system was able to classify the level of readiness into three categories: not ready, moderately ready, and ready, with high precision and flexibility to data uncertainty. The findings suggest that fuzzy models can be used as adaptive and contextualized evaluation tools in tutoring environments, and support data-driven instructional decision-making.

Abstract

The problems that occur in learning outcomes are generally influenced by learning activities that are less interactive and less interesting so as to reduce student motivation and enthusiasm, which is caused by the learning methods and styles used in the classroom. Based on observations at SMAN 8 Malang, it is known that the implementation of mathematics learning is still one-way and students are only involved in doing assignments. This has an impact on the results of the assessment carried out by the teacher in learning mathematics. To improve student learning outcomes, effective and relevant learning methods are needed in accordance with the lesson plans that have been prepared. The approach and learning model that aims to provide solutions to overcome the challenges of improving learning outcomes is the Weekly Project of Problems (W-PoP) Scheme with the TARL Approach. The research method used is Classroom Action Research with data collection techniques consisting of initial assessment, observation, written tests, interviews, and questionnaires.  Through this research, an increase in the percentage of student learning completeness was obtained in the summative assessment in cycle 2 which reached 79%, an increase of 32% compared to the summative assessment in cycle 1 and an increase of 38% from the pre-cycle. The average score of all students also increased significantly in each cycle. Thus, the application of the Weekly Project of Problems (W-PoP) with the TARL Approach can provide equal opportunities for students to receive learning materials and have equality in getting treatment in learning to gain understanding abilities to improve student learning outcomes.
