Abstract

Olimpiade Sains Nasional (OSN) and Olimpiade Madrasah Indonesia (OMI) are two prestigious national science competitions that serve as benchmarks for the quality of education in schools across Indonesia. Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Aceh Barat is one of the leading schools in Aceh Barat District, Aceh Province. The partner institution faces an issue of a lack of competent teachers to guide students in preparing for both activities. The aim of this community service activity is to provide learning assistance to the students of this school. The stages of this service activity consist of the planning stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. Based on the evaluation results, it appears that there has been an increase in knowledge and readiness among students in facing the OSN and OMI competitions. The author suggests that this activity should continue to be held every year and be emulated by other schools in Aceh Barat as a strategic effort to enhance students' readiness for these two prestigious events.

Abstract

Food security issues in marginal villages such as Purwosari Village, Nagan Raya Regency, require a collaborative and sustainable multi-stakeholder approach. This village has the potential for local food sources such as tempeh, water spinach, spinach, and mustard greens, but faces challenges such as marginal land conditions, limited access to capital, and low utilization of promotional technology. The community service activity carried out by ORMAWA HIMAKESMAS of Teuku Umar University (UTU) aims to strengthen food security through participatory, educational, and innovative approaches. The program involved academics, village government, financial institutions (Bank Mustaqim), and the UTU Business Incubator through socialization, training, and interactive discussions. The materials delivered included balanced nutrition based on local food, Islamic financing using the musyarakah scheme, product promotion techniques through creative videos, and integrated village development planning. The results showed an increase in community knowledge regarding the utilization of local food and access to capital, as well as the establishment of a partnership model that can be replicated in other villages. Capacity building and support in terms of policy and infrastructure are key to sustainability. This collaboration between UTU and HIMAKESMAS demonstrates the importance of cross-sector synergy in building food self-sufficient, prosperous, and competitive villages.

Abstract

Rasau Jaya Village has extensive oil palm plantation areas that produce large amounts of unused empty fruit bunches, which support the growth of oil palm mushrooms. These mushrooms contain beneficial nutrients, including protein, dietary fiber, carbohydrates, and low-fat content, making them a potential alternative food ingredient. However, the community in Rasau Jaya Village faces challenges due to limited knowledge and soft skills in processing oil palm mushrooms into value-added products. Oil palm mushrooms have functional properties that allow them to be used as a filler ingredient in sausage production, particularly when combined with animal protein sources such as chicken meat. To address this issue, the Community Service Program (PKM) implemented counseling sessions on the benefits of oil palm mushrooms and hands-on training in producing broiler chicken–based oil palm mushroom sausages. The results showed a significant improvement in community capacity. Knowledge levels increased from 20% to 100% after counseling and socialization activities, while soft skills improved from 30% to 95% following direct practice in sausage production. In conclusion, counseling and practical training effectively enhanced community knowledge and soft skills, enabling residents to process oil palm mushrooms into nutritious products, including sausages, using oil palm mushrooms as a filler ingredient

Abstract

Rumoh Nelayan Aceh is a fishermen's association based in Johan Pahlawan sub-district, West Aceh Regency. Obstacles often faced by partners include the use of conventional boats with manual exhaust systems using diesel fuel pumps and some others still using hand pumps. The use of technology that is still minimal makes fishermen have to pay special attention to the disposal of water that enters the boat, this situation takes up the fisherman's time with a divided focus. The use of components that are not environmentally friendly Some fishing boats already use a diesel-powered boat water exhaust system. The use of fuel oil is not good from an economic point of view and results in emissions that have a negative impact on the environment. Lack of knowledge about the use of cutting-edge technology. With these conditions, this program aims to improve the efficiency of the fishing process, the use of automation technology, the use of environmentally friendly energy, reduce production costs, and encourage fishermen's independence in facing the challenges of the modern fishing world.

Abstract

One type of waste that is often overlooked is small wood waste, such as ice cream sticks. Ice cream stick wood has great potential to be repurposed into products that are both functional and economically valuable. This community service activity aims to educate children in Cot Gud Village on how to transform ice cream stick waste into functional and educational handicrafts. The training was conducted through a combination of socialization, demonstrations, and hands-on practice in a fun and interactive manner under the supervision of facilitators. The results of the activity show that this creative approach successfully increased children's environmental awareness, technical skills, and active participation. The handcrafted products made by the children of Cot Gud Village were also of good quality. In addition to reducing waste, this activity also served as a means of character education, collaboration, and critical thinking development for the children. It can be concluded that such activities are effective as a strategy for environmental education and community-based empowerment.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out to preserve Acehnese culture for the younger generation of the diaspora in Kampung Acheh, Kota Yan, Kedah Darul Aman, Malaysia, through Intergenerational Cultural Transmission. This activity was carried out against the backdrop of concerns about the loss of Acehnese cultural identity among the younger generation, who tend to be influenced by globalization and the process of cultural assimilation. In collaboration with the Institute of Social Sciences at Universiti Putra Malaysia, training and guidance were provided to the local community, involving young people and the older generation, related to cultural preservation in the form of preserving the Acehnese language and documenting culture in the digital field. Cultural preservation groups were formed at the village level and sustainable cultural education modules were developed. This activity is expected to be a solution to the weakening of Acehnese cultural identity among the diaspora and to strengthen its preservation in the future. This activity integrates information technology and optimization processes to accelerate cultural preservation efficiently and effectively.

Abstract

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the elementary school curriculum was officially implemented by the Indonesian government in the first semester of 2025/2026. This policy requires teachers to be pedagogically prepared; however, schools in island regions such as Pulau Tidung still face challenges in terms of infrastructure, access to training, and digital competence. This community service program aimed to describe the implementation and outcomes of the program “AI Implementation in Education: Strategies and Deep Learning Practices in the Elementary Curriculum.” The methods included problem identification, program planning, interactive seminars, evaluation, and follow-up through the establishment of a teacher community, with 25 kindergarten and elementary school teachers as participants. The results indicated 100% participation, moderate improvement in understanding, enhanced practical skills in using simple AI applications, and the ability to integrate AI into lesson planning. The findings suggest that practice-based training can increase teachers’ confidence in adopting technology, although continuous mentoring remains necessary. This program contributes to bridging the digital competence gap among teachers in island regions while offering an initial model of AI integration based on deep learning in elementary education.

Abstract

Holistic Integrative Early Childhood Education (PAUD-HI) is a strategic approach to fulfilling the essential needs of early childhood, including education, health, nutrition, care, protection, and welfare. This community service activity aimed to provide socialization and mentoring on the implementation of the PAUD-HI program at TK Pocut Meuligoe Samalanga, Samalanga District, Bireuen Regency. The activity employed a participatory approach through material presentations, interactive discussions, and question-and-answer sessions involving school principals, teachers, and school committee members. The materials delivered included PAUD-HI policies based on Bireuen Regent Regulation Number 4 of 2020, priority PAUD-HI programs, and PAUD management. The results indicate that the participant targets were successfully achieved, the materials were well understood, and participants showed high enthusiasm throughout the activity. This program is expected to enhance stakeholders’ understanding of PAUD-HI implementation and contribute to improving the quality of early childhood education services in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to enhance the capacity of the Komunitas Peduli Waduk (KPW) at Jlantah Reservoir, Jatiyoso District, Karanganyar Regency, through digital technology education and renewable energy utilization strategies. The activity was held on March 20, 2025 using a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) method, facilitated by the Surakarta River Basin Authority (BBWS), involving 35 participants from Karangsari and Tlobo Villages. Three main topics were delivered: (1) the use of digital technology for tourism promotion and MSME development via social media, websites, and applications; (2) an introduction to renewable energy power generation including micro-hydro and floating solar power plants; and (3) IoT-based water and soil resource monitoring using ESP32 microcontrollers. Results indicated high participant enthusiasm for technology adoption and a clear need for follow-up technical training to build independent community capacity. The activity successfully fostered multi-stakeholder collaboration among academics, the local community, village government, and BBWS Surakarta toward sustainable development of the Jlantah Reservoir area.

Abstract

South Aceh is known as a producer of quality nutmeg oil, but the economic value received by farmers is relatively low because sales are dominated by raw materials. This community service aims to increase the added value of nutmeg oil through the innovation of aromatherapy roll-on products branded RefreshCare and improve the institutional capacity of the Subur Jaya Farmers Group in Pucok Krueng Village. The method used is Community Partnership Empowerment, including: (1) Identification and Socialization, (2) Technical Training and Workshops, (3) Production Assistance and Quality Testing, and (4) Implementation of Digital Marketing Strategies. The results of the activity showed significant improvements in production and management aspects. Partners successfully produced 500 units of RefreshCare prototypes with a standard formula (70% South Aceh nutmeg oil, 20% supporting essential oils, 10% carrier oil). Partners' technical skills increased from 40% to 85%. From an economic perspective, the digital marketing initiative succeeded in selling 200 units in the first month, contributing to a 25% increase in partner income from crude oil sales. This innovation creates new jobs and strengthens the image of South Aceh nutmeg as a downstream commodity with high sales value and competitiveness, while also becoming a model for micro-economic empowerment based on local potential.
