Abstract

The ability to read and write among the public is crucial to improving the quality of human resources, especially in this age of globalization and fierce competition. The low interest in reading among elementary school students is one of the problems that needs to be addressed immediately, as this has a negative impact on their critical thinking, writing and information comprehension skills. This service program aims to improve students' literacy skills through the establishment and management of Taman Baca around SDN Tasikapa. The approach used includes counseling and mentoring on the importance of literacy, as well as reading education and training aimed primarily at students of SDN Tasikapa. In addition, this program seeks to increase interest in reading by optimizing the use of school library facilities. Through this activity, it is hoped that students can have a deeper understanding of the importance of reading, so that a culture of literacy can continue to be strengthened in the school environment and also in the village community in a sustainable manner

Abstract

Number of lifestyle-related health problems, including obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes. To combat these trends, community-oriented recreational sports such as aerobic exercise offer a promising solution to enhance public health outcomes. FORMASMA (Festival Olahraga Masyarakat) 2025 serves as a valuable platform to promote health and wellness through accessible and large-scale community activities. Mass aerobic sessions, in particular, are known to improve heart health, physical coordination, and overall well-being, while also encouraging social engagement. The success of these efforts, however, relies heavily on comprehensive planning, collaboration across sectors, and long-term sustainability. This community service program is envisioned not merely as an isolated event but as part of a broader effort to instill healthy lifestyles into daily routines. By integrating aerobic exercise with health education, this initiative seeks to involve individuals across various age groups youth to seniors in a collective movement towards a healthier, more physically active community.

Abstract

This Community Service Activity began with a discussion between the mathematics education study program lecturers, the faculty of teaching and educational sciences at Tanjungpura University, and the chairman of the Kubu Raya Subject Teachers' Conference about the rapid development of technology, especially in mathematics learning. Through this discussion, it was found that many teachers still need to utilize technology in teaching mathematics. One technology that is often used in mathematics learning is GeoGebra. GeoGebra is an application with various features that can be used to explain concepts and numbers in mathematics learning, such as plane geometry, space geometry, algebra, etc. Therefore, teachers need technology-related training to assist in learning, especially GeoGebra. Mastery of this technology is an unavoidable demand, and it also plays a role in improving education in Indonesia, especially in West Kalimantan. This training was held on 8 August 2024, with a total of forty-five participants consisting of thirty-five mathematics teachers from various junior high schools in Kubu Raya, three mathematics education students, and seven lecturers at the Tanjungpura University mathematics education study program. This training aims to increase teachers' motivation and ability to use GeoGebra in mathematics learning. The outputs produced in this activity are 1) implementation of training, 2) publication of documentary video activities on social media, and 3) activity reports.

Athletics is one of the most measured sports and is the mother of sports of all other sports. Athletics is divided into several parts according to its specialization numbers including running, horizontalvertical jump, and rotational linear throwing. Athletics is predominantly a measurable sport that combinesseveral physical biomotor components including speed, strength, endurance, explosive power, andcoordination in order to achieve optimal achievement targets. Kediri City itself is a city that is included inthe barometer of athletic development in East Java and even nationally, as evidenced by severalcompetitions in various age categories (pre-teens, teens, and seniors) which always come out as overallchampions or there is an athletic delegation from Kediri City who participates in the Sea Games, AsianGames, to the Olympic Games. In a smaller scope of development, in KONI Kediri City there are severalsuperior sports branches, of which athletics is one of them and is always a gold medal barn in everyimplementation of the East Java provincial sports week. Explosive power training development has avery important role for athletic athletes, this is because almost 80% of athletic competition numbersrequire explosive power as a determinant of success in achieving targeted achievements. Thiscommunity service was carried out with the aim of seeing the level of explosive power of Kediri City'sathletic athletes by holding explosive power training activities for the lower body extremities (legs).

Abstract

Physical Education, Sports, and Health activities in the era of the Merdeka Curriculum require contextual, expressive, and movement literacy-based learning. However, Physical Education, Sports, and Health teachers' understanding of meaningful and creative learning approaches remains limited, particularly in implementing creative gymnastics. This program aimed to enhance Physical Education, Sports, and Health teachers’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes through hands-on, reflective training. The method employed a participatory-practice approach involving 70 teachers from various education levels across Solo Raya. Over two days, participants engaged in theoretical sessions, demonstrations, individual and group practice, as well as educational competition simulations. Evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in movement application aspects such as coordination, expression, and confidence in performing, with an average score increase of over 30%. Additionally, 91% of participants reported the activity as enjoyable and meaningful, while 90% expressed interest in further developing creative gymnastics. These findings suggest that the creative gymnastics-based approach is not only technically effective but also fosters value internalization and transforms teachers’ attitudes toward more reflective, participatory, and meaningful Physical Education, Sports, and Health learning. Therefore, creative gymnastics deserves to be positioned as a strategic pedagogical approach in contemporary Physical Education, Sports, and Health.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has had a significant impact on the behavior of children and adolescents, including increasing addiction to online games. This phenomenon causes various problems such as decreased academic achievement, impaired social interaction, and physical and mental health problems. The purpose of this article is to examine strategies for reducing the negative impacts of online games through optimizing digital literacy and preserving traditional games. Digital literacy plays an important role in equipping children, parents, and educators with the knowledge and skills to use technology wisely and responsibly. Meanwhile, traditional games can be an educational and recreational alternative that encourages physical activity, social interaction, and strengthening local cultural values. The combination of these two approaches is expected to create a balance in the use of technology while strengthening the cultural identity of the younger generation. Online games have become part of the lives of modern children and adolescents, but excessive use without supervision has a negative impact on mental, social, and academic health. This community service activity aims to educate elementary school students about healthy digital literacy and reintroduce traditional games as an alternative to fun physical and social activities. The implementation method includes socialization, training, and practice of traditional games at SDN 17 Sungai Raya in West Kalimantan. The results show an increase in students' understanding of the wise use of gadgets and high enthusiasm in participating in traditional games. The conclusion of this activity is that collaboration between digital literacy and local cultural preservation can reduce dependence on online games

Abstract

One way to improve teacher professionalism is by encouraging teachers to write. The next step, once the writing is completed, is to publish it. Publishing before 2019 was still mostly done manually using printed journal books. Starting from 2019 until now, journals have begun to switch to online publishing. With online publishing, teachers automatically have to understand the procedures that apply in the open journal system (OJS) when sending articles. To bridge this need, Community Service is carried out so that teachers understand OJS which is now starting to become grounded. At least material on how to adjust templates, do submets, go through the process of review, copy editing, publishing and fees as a writer. This series of activities was given to teachers with the result that all teachers 100% understood the processes that occurred in the OJS journal.
