Abstract

Indonesia faces a serious literacy crisis, as evidenced by the 2022 PISA data, which places the country at 70th out of 81 nations. The main challenges include low reading interest among children, limited access to quality books, and less effective teaching methods. This article explores the read aloud technique as a solution to enhance children's literacy through an engaging and interactive reading experience. This technique is discussed in the context of Albert Bandura's Social Cognitive Theory, which emphasizes the roles of observation, modeling, and reinforcement in the learning process. Through the Read Aloud Goes to School program at SD Negeri Gurawan, Surakarta, read aloud has not only succeeded in fostering a love for reading but also integrated literacy with education on global issues, such as climate change, using the book Keluarga Panik. This article concludes that read aloud is a game changer in efforts to improve literacy in Indonesia. With consistent implementation and community involvement, this technique holds great potential to create a generation of critical readers who care about the future. Abstract

This community service program (PkM) aims to address significant welfare gaps in remote areas. Such as in rural areas in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java. This PkM focuses on integrated Islamic religious education, health and social services as an actualization of Al-Maun theology initiated by KH Ahmad Dahlan (founder of Muhammadiyah). Islamic religious education services, especially in remote areas such as Pucung Village, Eromoko District, Wonogiri are among the most concerning. Due to various limitations, such as lack of teachers, minimal educational facilities, minimal social activities and a quality of life that is far from healthy. This fact encourages the PkM Team to provide solutions in the form of programs and activities designed to improve the quality of life of the community in terms of education, health and social. Guidance activities are carried out with religious guidance to improve understanding and quality of worship and other Islamic education. Muhammadiyah Post School which provides non-formal education at the ronda post. In addition, there is also Health Education to increase health awareness in the community. This program will involve various stakeholders, including local governments, schools, communities, and religious organizations. Abstract

Following the government's commitment in the state asset utilization, Indonesian bus stations management develops their commercial assets as a public activity center and a non-tax contributor. The problem is the bus station commercial asset management knowledge and skill should be improved through a specific training. The analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach for the bus station commercial asset management training is essential. The training improves bus station commercial asset management knowledge ans skills by hierarchical expertise and suitable selection. Conducted in the Tirtonadi bus Station located in Indonesian Surakarta city, three stages run the AHP training: Bus station commercial asset management hierarchical expertise and proper selection development, AHP software simulation, and AHP-based test. To create training attractiveness, two treatments are imposed: Asset utilization combination and group division. The training successfully improves bus station commercial asset management knowledge and skill on the hierarchical expertise and suitable selection. In addition, the training raises the bus station management's intention to analyze in general the bus station commercial asset management, readiness to organize the bus station commercial asset management training based on the AHP method, and readiness to become the bus station research key respondent based on the AHP method.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to improve financial literacy and environmental awareness of the Indonesian diaspora in Thailand. Situation analysis revealed a low level of knowledge in financial management and green economy practices within the community. The implementation method consisted of visual module-based training, the use of assistive technology (Google Lens), and a dakwah approach rooted in Islamic values. The activity was carried out at Lukmanulhakeem School, Yala, Southern Thailand, involving 24 participants, comprising teachers and students of the school. Pretest and posttest results indicated an increase in the average score from 4.50 to 4.95. More than 83.3% of participants were able to develop personal financial plans, while 87.5% expressed readiness to adopt environmentally compliant financial products. Furthermore, interactive discussions reflected the participants' enthusiasm for adopting green economy principles in daily life. Language barriers were addressed through the use of Google Lens as a translation aid, enabling participants to better understand foreign terms, module content, and measurement instruments for improved comprehension and skills development. These results demonstrate that the Muhammadiyah dakwah-based approach integrating green economy principles effectively enhanced the financial literacy and ecological awareness of the diaspora, while also building a foundation for the economic and social sustainability of the diaspora community in Thailand

Abstract

This community service program was motivated by the ongoing issue of student behaviors at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Boyolali that do not reflect positive character traits aligned with Islamic and Pancasila values in their daily conduct. Although the school already implements moral development programs and routine religious activities, many students still exhibit a lack of discipline, low social awareness, and weak responsibility and ethics in social interactions. To address this issue, a character education workshop was conducted, integrating Islamic and Pancasila values using a participatory-educational and experiential learning approach. The program was carried out in five stages: program coordination, pre-assessment, implementation of the workshop in three sessions (value reflection, moral dilemma simulation, and social action project), post-assessment, and follow-up. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ understanding and application of character values. Responsibility increased from 58% to 85%, social concern from 61% to 84%, discipline and ethics from 65% to 88%, and national awareness from 54% to 79%. In addition, student-initiated activities such as “Monday Greeting and Smiling Movement” emerged, indicating a positive behavioral change after the workshop. This program proves that character development is more effective when conducted through reflective, contextual, and experience-based methods. The workshop serves as an applicable solution that encourages students not only to understand but also to internalize and practice Islamic and Pancasila values in their everyday lives.

Abstract

Adolescents tend to have poor eating habits that lead to nutritional deficiencies that make them vulnerable to current and future health problems, such as decreased concentration in learning, decreased productivity, and increased risk of comorbidities when they become adults. Teenagers have poor eating behaviors such as consuming foods that are not in accordance with food guidelines, consuming fast food, high-fat foods, sweet drinks, skipping breakfast, and rarely consuming vegetables and fruit. This behavior can be caused by low knowledge, peer influence, parents, increasing fast food centers, mass media and body image. Providing education is very important in increasing the knowledge of adolescents. The purpose of providing this education is to increase the knowledge and awareness of adolescents about the importance of implementing optimal nutrition as an effort to prevent nutritional problems in adolescents.Nutrition optimal education activities for SMP Special Program (PK) Al Kautsar, Junior High School students went well and smoothly according to the schedule. Participants enthusiastically took part in a series of nutrition education activities through animated videos, as well as actively participated in question and answer discussions. This activity received full support from the school to fill in the mentoring activities that are routinely held at PK Al Kautsar Middle School. Nutrition education with optimal nutrition material for adolescents can increase adolescent knowledge by 10.78 points, with an average value of knowledge before being given education of 59.2 and an average value of knowledge after being given education of 70.
