Abstract

The government's efforts to handle armed group activities often result in casualties. Resolving the dynamic conflicts in Papua requires synergy among relevant parties such as state institutions, ministries, and experts in their respective fields. Resolving conflicts in Papua is a form of implementing the concept of national security. This research will examine the relationship between conflict intervention and conflict resolution in Papua, which influences the formulation of Papua conflict intervention designs aimed at building conflict resolution and peace. The method used in this research is qualitative research, with the conflict in Papua as the object of study through the collection of empirical and theoretical literature analyzed to build resolution and peace. Peace in Papua can be achieved through conflict management processes consisting of conflict de-escalation, humanitarian intervention and political negotiation, problem-solving approaches, and peacebuilding. Intervention strategies must ensure that program impacts reach the entire Papua community. The importance of intervening in Papua's conflict is seen as a comprehensive improvement process for security policies in Papua

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of the National Disability Commission in promoting business inclusivity for persons with disabilities in Indonesia. Based on Law No. 8 of 2016, the National Disability Commission serves to ensure the fulfillment of the rights of persons with disabilities, particularly access to employment and entrepreneurship. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study found three main roles of the National Disability Commission: policy advocacy, cross-sector collaboration, and empowerment through training and public campaigns. Key challenges include weak coordination, limited authority, and social stigma. The National Disability Commission functions as a moral parliament that strengthens the bargaining position of persons with disabilities in the world of work and has the potential to be a catalyst for transformation towards an inclusive and equitable employment ecosystem.

Abstract

Quality of work-life has continued to dominate research as it is known to affect workers’ performance and organizational productivity. Studies have investigated different predictors of quality of work-life with different results. This study examines organizational climate, organizational safety and workplace stress as predictors of quality of work-life among workers in multinational companies in Rivers State, Nigeria. Cross-sectional survey design was adopted while purposive sampling technique was used to select two multinational companies in the study area. Data were collected from 207 participants using validated questionnaires. Data were analyzed using multiple regressions and independent samples t-test to test two hypotheses which were accepted at p <.001 level of significance. The result indicated that organizational climate, organizational safety and workplace stress jointly predicted quality of work-life among study participants R2 =.398, F( 3, 204) = 124. 461, p < .001. Furthermore, the results revealed that organizational climate (β = .105, p <.001), organizational safety (β= .164, p <.001) and workplace stress (β = -.129, p <.001) independently predicted quality of work-life among study participants. Finally, gender significantly influences quality of work [t(107) = 44.48, p <.001] such that female workers reported higher quality of work-life compared to their male counterparts. The study concludes that organizational climate, organizational safety and workplace stress served as excellent predictors of quality of work-life among study participants. The study recommends that multinational companies should develop positive organizational culture and workplace safety with minimal workplace stress which would improve overall quality of work-life among workers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the environmental health and socioeconomic impacts of the traditional rice milling industry in Tasikmalaya, focusing on potential hazards such as dust, noise, vibration, and hot working conditions that affect the health of workers and the surrounding community. The research method used was qualitative descriptive through field observations, interviews, and documentation of key informants and supporters, both from among workers and local residents. The results show that the highest dust concentrations are found around the milling and polishing machines, which have the potential to cause respiratory disorders. The continuous noise from the Fuso machines exceeds safe limits and threatens hearing function, while machine vibrations affect environmental comfort and building stability. Hot working conditions with poor ventilation cause discomfort and the risk of dehydration for workers. From a socioeconomic perspective, the rice milling industry makes an important contribution by creating jobs, increasing farmers' incomes, and strengthening the economic resilience of the community. However, there have also been changes in social structure and interaction patterns that tend to be more individualistic. This study concludes that risk control through dust management, noise reduction, and ventilation improvements is necessary to protect worker health and ensure the environmental and social sustainability of the rice milling industry.

Abstract

This study aims to provide a juridical review and analytical assessment of the role of local governments in managing social conflicts as a foundation for maintaining national security and resilience. The Kediri City Government, as the closest administrative structure to the community, plays a strategic role in conflict prevention, resolution, and post conflict recovery. The practical implementation of social conflict management still encounters several challenges, including budgetary limitations, suboptimal human resource capacity, weak inter agency coordination, inadequate dissemination of the Social Conflict Management, and limited community participation, particularly from customary and social institutions. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study employs in depth interviews, literature reviews, and policy analysis supported by relevant documents, legal frameworks, and prior research findings. The results reveal that the effectiveness of conflict management in Kediri City strongly depends on the integration of Social Conflict Management into regional development policies, capacity building for local officials, and the enhancement of coordination mechanisms between local agencies and vertical institutions. Furthermore, community empowerment and the revitalization of local social institutions are identified as crucial elements in establishing sustainable peace and social stability.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the development and empowerment of the community in managing ecotourism based on local wisdom in Sambangan Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency, Bali. Initial observations indicated that the village's tourism potential, including ten waterfalls, cultural attractions, and man-made tourism facilities, had not been optimally managed due to limited development strategies and human resource capacity. This study employed a qualitative method, collecting data through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results showed that ecotourism development based on local wisdom successfully utilized natural, cultural, and artificial tourism potentials to attract visitors and improve community welfare. Local wisdom, reflected in the spirit of mutual cooperation, agricultural traditions, arts, and culture, strengthened tourism governance, with community members actively participating in village deliberations, training, homestay management, digital marketing, and preservation of traditional arts and handicrafts. Institutions such as LPHD and POKDARWIS served as coordination platforms to maintain environmental sustainability and ensure responsible tourism. The study produced a model of community empowerment that supported local economic improvement while preserving cultural values and environmental sustainability. The findings emphasized the importance of community collaboration and the utilization of local wisdom as a strategy for inclusive, sustainable, and adaptive ecotourism development.

Abstract

Jerome S. Bruner’s theory of cognitive development views learners as active builders of their own understanding. He argues that learning is a personal process, deeply influenced by social interaction, hands-on experience, and language. Central to his ideas are discovery learning, the spiral curriculum, and the three modes of knowledge representation—enactive, iconic, and symbolic. According to Bruner, education should encourage students to explore, discover, and reflect for themselves. His approach remains highly relevant today, aligning with the 21st-century emphasis on critical thinking, creativity, and independent learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the creative process of the Malebba Kacubbu dance as a contemporary children’s dance work rooted in Bugis cultural values. This dance is an adaptation of the traditional game Malebba Kacubbu, which reflects the spirit of hard work (reso), sportsmanship (pesse), and obedience to rules (mappesona ri ade’). The research was conducted at the Pajoge Andino Art Studio Foundation, Sidrap Regency, South Sulawesi, using a descriptive qualitative method. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation of the rehearsal and dance creation process involving children aged 10–11 years. The results show that the creative process consists of three main stages: cultural and movement exploration, improvisation, and choreographic composition. This dance work demonstrates an effort to preserve Bugis culture through enjoyable and educational art learning, while at the same time instilling character values in children.

Abstract

This study examines the conflict between the coastal community of Batu Beriga Village, Central Bangka, and the state, represented by PT Timah, in offshore tin mining activities. This conflict arose due to the imbalance in power relations between the state's economic interests and local ecological sustainability. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method through literature study with social movement theory as an analytical tool. The results show that the Batu Beriga community's resistance movement against mining activities is a form of collective awareness and resistance to ecological injustice. This movement not only rejects resource exploitation but also fights for the rights to living space and ecological sovereignty of coastal communities. Therefore, resolving natural resource conflicts requires prioritizing participatory dialogue and reformulating marine spatial planning policies that are ecologically just and oriented towards the welfare of local communities.
